I did this for a week. I have acne prone skin so I went with a 75 Castor Oil to 25 Extra Virgin Olive Oil... Honestly, my skin has not been this bad since before I took accutane for a year when i was 14 years old. Maybe I need a different ratio, but right now, I'm switching back to my products that worked a bit better. I am taking my college grad portraits next week and I don't want this to be how I look in those pictures. I really did want this to work for me |

I'm getting my bachelor's degree in Linguistics and French. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up, so July 7th, I'm headed to Niger (west Africa) with the Peace Corps for 27 months. <<that's my main motivation, now. I had to do some extra medical tests and forms because my BMI was/is so high, so I really would like to get it under 35 before I leave (it is currently 38.1, but down from >42). I have joined a gym so I plan on really racking up some exercise points this month... watch out |

Start weight: 261.8 pounds
I want to get under 250 so badly!! I'm 21 (22 in less than 2 weeks), 5' 9.5" with a medium frame, and I try to eat around 1750-2000 calories a day. I am graduating with my bachelor's degree this month, so I'll be super busy the first half of the month, and then I'll have plenty of extra time during the second half to really get my butt in gear. My ultimate goal weight is 160. I have joined a gym, so hopefully that will help keep my weight-loss moving right along.

I'm in for this month, too. I will be done with classes (TOMORROW IS MY LAST DAY OF CLASSES FOREVER!!), so hopefully I will be able to keep up with sending my points in.
My points goal will be 2000 points. Current weight is 261.8--goal is 253.0 by the end of May.
I'll have some challenge suggestions tomorrow after I'm done with my classes. |

I can't believe this month is almost over! i have been soooooo busy with school and work and life and i'm sick. i haven't sent my points in like a week. SO my goals for the day: 1. send points to spacedreamer and hope that she doesn't hate me for waiting so long. 2. finish rewriting my phonology paper 3. reward myself for finally making it past the 25# lost mark! XD i'm thinking thai food tonight... mmmm |

I'm trying this, too. I did it last night and again this morning. my skin doesn't feel any different than from what I was doing before (acne scrub 3-4 times/wk (i know, i know BAD), acne wash every time i washed--am/pm-- that i didn't do the scrub, alcohol-free toner, acne spot med, and spf moisturizer). But I feel a LOT better about what I have put on my skin. I'm really looking forward to seeing results! I'll keep you guys updated. |

I feel the exact same way as you do. I need the daily encouragement of a daily weigh in. I could definitely see myself getting really out of control if I went an entire week without weighing myself. like "yeah, i'll eat badly today.. but it won't be a problem because i have 5 more days until I have to get back on the scale, so no worries. i'll clean up my act tomorrow." but that perpetual 'tomorrow' would so easily put me back a month, or 2. Since I weigh everyday, I know that I have to eat sensibly everyday and exercise and drink water and keep my sodium intake down and keep my fiber intake up and... that's a lot to remember, but if i'm in the habit of remembering them everyday, that's better. |

ok. here are my goals for today: 1. 2. fold/put away all of the laundry I did yesterday 3. write at least 3 pages out of the 5 page paper that I have due first thing Wednesday morning I really need to get these things done today. The kitchen is starting to get to the point where I can't cook anything because I don't have time to clean AND cook. I have been living out of laundry baskets (everything I wear is clean, but my room/closet is a mess) for like 2 weeks. I have to get a really good start on this paper because it is a huge chunk of my grade in a class that I have really been struggling in. Also, I have another 1.5 page paper in Italian due Wednesday afternoon, and 4 pages in French due on Friday. This week is going to be a rough one for me. I can do it, though. Just have to limit the fun stuff. I know that if I can just get through the next 3 weeks (!!!!!!!) then I'll be done with college, forever. Good luck to everyone else!! wish me luck, too! |

I have 108 pounds to lose. those 8 pounds, specifically, are killing me. I've been actively working at losing weight for the past 5 weeks, and I've lost 20.5 pounds, putting my current weight at 268.0. I'm exercising, eating right, eating vegan, counting calories, and drinking water. I'm 21 years old (22 next month) and 5' 9.5" (I fight for that half an inch because my mom is 5' 9" and claims to be just as tall/taller than me). So, Hello! |

This turned out longer than I was expecting--enjoy the novel? While I'm 100% sure that it is possible to not lose/gain weight when going vegan, that has NOT been my experience. I ate completely vegan for the month of October '07--my friend said I couldn't do it for a week, so I said "watch me do it for a month!" I think I lost about 15 pounds in that month, without really trying.. I certainly wasn't counting calories or anything. I ate as much as I wanted of whatever I wanted (as long as it was vegan). I also felt SO much better--never stuffy, etc. I would never have called myself "lactose intolerant" or anything like that, I love(d) cheese and ate a lot of it. It never made me ill. Sooo with that month of experience, and my looming graduation/obvious health concerns, I decided I would go vegan again for (at least) the two months until my graduation. It has been one month... exactly as of today, and I have lost 21.5 pounds. I had/have a lot of weight to lose, and while I know that this isn't really the ideal rate to lose weight, I don't think I could force myself to eat anymore than I do now, so I'm going with it. How much of this is just because I'm vegan now? I'm not really sure, because I have started exercising and I do watch what I eat as far as calories/fat/sugar/etc I eat. But I think being vegan has certainly contributed quite a bit to it. As far as you being worried about eating w/ your fiance, etc. It really isn't that hard, I don't think. I live/eat most of my meals with my meat/cheese/egg loving roommate. If I make pasta with tomato sauce, he adds meatballs/parm to his. If I'm having rice/tofu/veggies, he adds a hunk of meat to his plate... luckily he's a pretty decent cook, so i don't have to cook for him (not sure what your situation is). But really, even if you start off gradually, I think it will help you. Just start by avoiding the obvious--no cheese on that sandwich, please. hold the butter/sour cream on that baked potato, thanks! It's doable, and let me know if i can help! |

the worst scar i have is from when i climbed onto my mom's bathroom counter (approx. 9 years old). She left her curling iron on all day, my knee touched it...BURN! so the scar is maybe 2" x 0.5". While I was going through the medical physical to become a peace corps volunteer, the doctor asked if i had any scars or tattoos. I told her that was the worst one, so she wrote it down on my form for the PC. A couple weeks later, i got a letter from the PC asking for a "personal statement regarding the scar on right knee". lol. i'd heard about people that had to write "personal statements" about like DUIs and that kind of stuff... but this is a childhood scar on my knee! oh silly government/bureaucracy! |

I drink at least 5 liters of water/day. And I have exercised at least 30 minutes each day in April. I also do what I can to incorporate the challenges in to my workout/life. i set out to have a great april, and half way through, it has been! Good luck everybody!! |
