veganmamma - with all that, you're allowed to get depressed! life has a way of sending us curve balls sometimes. How is are you and your husband doing now? hi alylou - i got back last friday. sounds like you had a great trip! 9 days - i'm envious! nyc was good - was in class all day so not much time for sightseeing. i do enjoy that city though i could have done without the jack hammer at 7:00 am! |

Hi everyone! I just got back from my trip last night and was catching up on everyone's entries. I love what Sue wrote about "JustAMom". I was fortunate to be able to stay home for 11 years with my kids when they were younger and I had the same reaction from everyone, including my family! Thank goodness I had a supportive husband! Welcome to all the new members! I love hearing how everyone is doing! I am giving myself 2 days back from my trip before I weight myself. If I just maintain, I'll be happy! |

Unfortunately, I will be sitting in class most of the day - 8:30-4:30. I'll get out some at night but not a whole lot of time to sightsee. It is one of my favorite cities. Would love to live there for a year but my husband would never go for it. The other city I really like is London. Both are great cities to walk around and just soak in the atmosphere. |

Also look at how you feel, how your clothes fit and how you look in them. The scale is just one factor. |

thanks ctmomof4! I hadn't even thought about breakfast! If i stick to fruit and maybe 1/2 a bagel (no cream cheese), I should do ok there. Gotta have bagels up in NYC! :-( no sauces! You are right but gosh what a bummer! |

My husband has actually been watching it with me! Wish I could have all day to work out and concentrate on me.... Survived the corned beef - was good and had a very small piece with LOTS of cabbage! Anyone have any thoughts on how to survive 4 days eating out? I have to go to NYC next week and will be eating out morning, noon and night |

A lot of that depends upon your bone structure. My sister and I are both 5'9" btu I have a small bone structure and she has a medium bone structure. For me, 169 is heavy. For her, 165 is her idea weight. The easy way to do determine bone structure is to wrap your thumb and forefinger around your wrist. If they overlap, you have a small bone structure, if they meet - medium and if they do not - large. I need to be at a size 8 to look as good as my sister does at a size 12. |

Ok - so I have been doing really good the past week and have even started seeing some small results. Next week though, will be the true test. I have to go to NYC for 4 days for work and am already starting to worry about trying to eat healthy. I think I'll be ok with the working out since the hotel should have a gym. I was thinking I could just stick to salads for the most part but then you hear about how some of these salads are 100s of calories and not near as healthy as they appear. Help! |

hey hananabanana! I'm a runner use-to-be and wanna-be. Ran several years ago until my achilles and my back got the better of me. Trying to get back into it. I hear you about the feet! Isn't it amazing how some people can run for years and never have any injuries but others of us are always fighting off injury! People say to try other forms of exercise but they just don't understand. It ain't called a "runner's high" for nothin! I have never found any other form of exercise that gives me that same sense of self that running does! |

Hi everyone! It is so nice to chat with women at the same stage I'm at. This was a great idea alylou! wanttogetfit - I'm with you on the menopause! I never had a belly when i was younger no matter how big I got - huge hips but a tiny waist - classic pear shape! Now I find I have a roll around my middle! Where did that come from?? Have you tried making 1 dinner and then make sure you have extra veggies/salad? alylou is right! This is for life! Have you tried having some of the same foods but smaller portions? Hope you made your flight alylou! |

Hi everyone! Here's my story: AGE? - 48 (soon to be 49) Married? - Yes Kids? - 2 (ages 20 and 18) Pets? - 2 dog Favorite old time TV show? - Gilligan's Island Favorite current TV show? - Biggest Losers - what inspirations! Birth City/Current City? - Hershey, PA/Cross Junction, VA (outside Winchester) Interesting Fact about yourself? Use to run marathons I agree with ctmomof4 - this is a lifestyle change! I am determined that this will be the last time I lose this weight! We did not have corned beef and cabbage on St. Patty's day but my daughter is coming home from school and asked that I make it this weekend. I figure I will do some extra exercise so I can have a bit!

Hi there! I am definately interested. I am also 48, mother of a 20 year old and an 18 year old, a bit taller than you - 5'9" - and a web programmer. I probably have one of the most sedentary jobs which is making this journey difficult! I can use all the support I can get! |

I just joined today. I am 48, also did ww, lost weight and then gained it all back plus some after sustaining an injury and going through menopause (which really stinks!) . I've been enjoying reading everyone's posts and realizing that I am not alone in this effort! |
