Yesterday's weight: 288.2 Today's weight: 287.2 Goal : 265 lbs by April 2009 Ult. Goal: 145 I am 4'11 I started CC two years ago. Then I was over 350 lbs. I hope to get back on the wagon and lose those pounds by communicating with others. So here I am.
The above is what I wrote a few months ago....now I have reached my Ult. Goal!!!!! I must move on to another goal. Let me see, I am so excited I don't know where to go (smile)....God has been so good to me. I now have a goal to reach 225. If I reach that goal, I might treat myself by having my husband take me on a vacation! You know what that means...New Clothes. Last time I was at 287.2 lbs. Today's weight: 226.0 lbs. Short Term Goal: 220 lbs. by Nov. 14 Ult. Goal:175 lbs.

I seem to have lost most of my weight in my abdomin. Though it is noticeable to my family and to my clothes (lol)...I must have a ways to go yet because my abdomin is still out there. |

Until you can find someone (therapist) to talk to, continue to use us as a sounding board. Also, write your feelings in your journal. Journals help one to let things out that normally builds up. Set small simple goals. Like, I want to lose 150 lbs. It is not going to happen all in one week....shucks not even all in 3 months. So, I will set a 5 lb weight lost goal for the month. Hmmm more realistic!! Goals that you know that you can accomplish will help you to feel better plus will not set you up for failure. Make a routine for yourself that includes a "beauty time". Every night try out different make ups, hair styles, special bath soaps, etc. and buy yourself nice sleepwear. By morning time you are sooo into this .... you will feel pretty and more confident. |

Peel the potatoe, dice them (like in 3 parts), put them in a small bowl of water..and pop them in them in the microwave for a few minutes (it is according to how large your potatoe is). |

Veggies are a good source of snacks....cooked green beans are good to snack on or sliced cucumbers dipped in vinegar. Water packed fruit cocktail are good...just place these different foods in bowls in the refrig. When you get the urge, just grab one of the bowls of snacks. Sugar free Popsicles & jello are good fluid intake yet gives you the sweetness you might crave. |

you have some good concerns...however, this is a difficult time to try to lose weight or to keep extra weight off. When you check your menus...always pick high protein foods (mostly meats, peanut butter,etc), low fat foods (low fat milk, etc.), stick with fruits for desserts, and low cal drinks. Anything that looks like is floating in butter...send it back and ask for something else. Use the calorie counter to pick the foods that is on the hospital menu. IV fluids will put extra weight on you, but is necessary for you treatment. However, if you hold body fluid very easily, make sure you speak to your doctor about diuretics (fluid pills). |

Though water is very important, you all are correct in that one can take in too much water. If you have a health problem which causes you to retain fluid then too much water can be difficulty to get rid of. Those that have heart or kidney problems should consult their physician about the amount of fluid that should be consumed. Also, a great indication of need for increase in fluids is if one's urine is a dark yellow with a strong odor to it - then the body is dehydrated. If the skin has poor skin turgor and is extreamly dry, one might want to look at his or her fluid intake. Fluids can be obtained from foods, popiciles, juices, etc. Adequate intake is often indicated by the great desire for that Drink of something. Of course, all fluids are not created equally (smile), in that caffeinated drinks have been known to cause diuresis (out-pouring of fluid) but it has been recorded to contribute to uterine fibroids, headaches, nervousness, increased heart rate and a vairety of other medical problems. |

Sleep is a time for the body to work and repair...which means that it will burn up calories. So a certain amount of sleep is needed to do this work. Some require more sleep than others. However, not sleeping enough often will alert one to desire to eat more, which puts on weight gain/balanced by decreased sleep. The key is to stay within one's healthy calorie range....have proper sleep for the body's nightly workout (smile)....and wake up to being as active as possible to aid the body in it's effort. Yes, sleep is great!!!!! |

My favorite food......Ice Cream...Hmmmmm! However, it will not hurt my feelings at all if I have cookies and milk around on a daily. I'm sorry I forgot myself, now I must focus! I was about ready to run to the store for ice cream and cookies (smile). |

| I don't understand about the % thing but I do know that if you have a water retention proble....high sodium consumption is a big no no....It will cause retention of fluid which in turns....cause increase weight gain. Though, you would accurately see the lost of body fat....as soon as the fluid weight is lost. | |||

| Hello everybody....yes, I found the "100 to Lose Club"....Did my water arobics....and enjoyed the work out. Hopefully, I will do my strength exercises on Sat.......shucks if I feel better tomorrow, I will do them on tomorrow.

| I tried Curves...and it helped me to get some type of exercise outside of home (which was zero exercise at home). However, I have a lot of joint pain...so it was difficult to move from one machine to another....in regards to the change of the music and by the time I got on the exercising machine...sucks, it was time to move on to the next spot (lol)....Girl, I was a mess!
Anyway, I recently joined the YMCA. I can move at my own pace....plus anytime through the day...plus attend on Sundays, if I want. Do what you feel is best for you....but whatever you do, just have fun! |

| Thank you all for your very quick response. I have to admit that fiber was one thing that I did not add to my changes! I will add that to my diet ....because my fiber intake is near to zero.....sad to say. Maybe, that will help me to be normal again...it is worth a try!

To the other problem.s...Drastic life changes bring about a mixture of odd feelings. The weight loss, the burned house, loss pets, and pending marriage. Weight loss bring on a new image of self, get use to the new self image. Appreciate your new image but not at the expense of breaking up a marriage. For when u get off your high...of getting use to your new image....and the new guy get use to your new image...the thrill might leave also....(though not saying that u would take the guy up on his flirtations). Flirtation makes anyone feel great....it is a natural good feeling to be complimented....but never take it too seriously, it can and often will back fire on you, if flirtation is taken to heart. There might be some underlying reasons for second thoughts for having cold feet....which is a good sign to put the breaks on....and step back long enough to evaluate your feelings. It is best to withdraw from marriage before saying "I do"....then after saying "I do". I wish u well! |

| Happy to know that you are doing so good despite the vacation foods.....about a week ago...I also went to Texas for vacation and had a great time eating out. Well, I lost weight and I was so surprised. I did a lot of walking....and by the way, I hope that u didn't mind that I added u on as a friend. I am about an hour away from Columbia, Mo. | I started at over 350....now at 296.2.....believe me the weight will become more difficult to come off....good news is that this place is a good support system....they will encourage you to move forward....no matter how difficult the weight loss becomes. | |||
