I breast fed both my children for 13 months and holy Sh-t did the weight fly off like you wouldn't believe!! My daughter had me down to 85lbs when I was doen with her and believe me I was eating!! Mind you I'm only 4'11" but good god, not only was it an incredible bonding experience but certainly helped with the loss of weight. |

Hey, I can understand the frustration.......my sister who has been married for nine years, has a six year old son, spent the last 3 years trying to conceive their second child, invetro, fert pills, you name it they tried it (she has PCOS and one ovary to boot) anyway, she went through three miscarriages and FINALLY this past August she got pregnant and made it! She's now 5 months pregnant and two weeks before Thanksgiving her husband met his "soul mate" online and ran off to Florida! Yep........this world is pretty bad.... I blame much on technology for failing marriages although I'm one for using the computer but it sure is a way for a person to persue it for purposes beyond a spouses knowledge to say the least....

I have two myself, 9 & 4. I also work fulltime so it's very rough to get the excercise in, I understand that! I find the easiest is right after I put them to bed I pop in a video or run on my treadmill. Sometimes I'll prep dinner the night before so I can take them for a walk after I get off work, I put the little one in a stoller which gives me a better workout too! |

Being that he is one year old he probably goes to bed at a decent time? I have two myself, I find the best time is as soon as they hit they hay I pop in an excercise video or use the ole treadmill. That has been the only thing I've managed to find that works for me other than taking a good walk with the stroller when it's nice out. Pack some snacks and drink for the little guy and stop at your "turn around" point so he can get out and stretch and have a little snack, then head on back.

I had that problem as well, doc suggested good tight sports bras to constrict. The more you let it flow (warm showers, stimulation in bed :)) the longer it will take. I wore a nice snug sports bra for several weeks, even at night and it went away completely. |

My son was born during a terrible controversial period where docs were refusing to do circumcision, hospitals were absolutely not doing them and honest truth was I didn't realize the amount of men who don't have it done, it was always a "everyone is" situation. Therefore it was insisted upon by both family and friends (who else do you trust with your first born, right?) My poor little guy went under the knife at 4 months old when I finally found a doc that was doing the majority of the infants being born at that time and it was a butcher shop!!! I had to take him to the ER that night because he was filling diapers with blood, his little thing was virtually gone! A very long recovery for my little guy and if there is one thing I regret it would be not listening to my instincts that were telling me back then that it wasn't THAT big of a deal. He's only 9 now so I still wouldn't know if he would be "affected" by it if I had not gone through with it and I never will but I do have a friend who's son is 13 and he is not circumcised and he's very embarrassed/sensitive by it.

You gotta kick that weekend bad habit!! Keep to your calories and if you need that feeling on the weekend that your being *bad* give yourself A treat but don't go overboard. Sounds like your countering all your hard work that you do during the week to just blow it off for two straight days when the weekend hits. Another thing you could try is to plan light meals on the weekend so you can splurge on naughty stuff to use of those extra calories. Like a garden salad for lunch, a banana and yogurt for breakfast, grilled chicken for dinner with some veggies and you can use up whats left (should be quite a bit) on the no no's |

I'm in the same boat and also have the same feelings of "great energy" and "completely lifeless" one day I could run a 20 mile marathon the next day I feel like I can't even get out of bed!! It's a rough roller coaster ride that is for sure. One thing I have done that seems to have benefit my energy level is implementing vitamins specifically for menopause. I went to a local natural health store and the woman was wonderful, she said the secret is A.G.E. that being vitamin A, vitamin E and Garlic every day, I also add Viactive Calcium and Vitamin D for the bone loss, B-complex (aids in the nervous system, thus is very beneficial for the emotional end of the roller coaster) and a womens multi-vitamin, I always thought a regular multi-vitamin was all I needed but she pointed out that during menopause you aren't a "normal" woman, lol. Honest to goodness it has tremendously improved my mood and my energy. The other thing I do when I just feel like I can't get myself in gear is tell myself I will only do 15 minutes on the treadmill tonight.......once I get going I end up wanting to keep going on. |

| Weight Loss | Saggy Skin | Apr 11 2008 00:17 (UTC) |

I've had two children and I've always been pretty small, my first one I put on 65 lbs!! And I was only 98 to begin with (4' 11") I had a very saggy belly until all the extra weight was off and I began toning again, took a good year and a half. The most important part is to keep hydrated, the skin needs it for elasticity, my doc was on my case about that big time because the belly sag was one of my concerns. My second child I only put on 20 lbs and my belly was tight in a matter of a few months. You are young so I think if you lose at a steady pace and not too quickly you will be just fine, it may not be super tight depending on how overweight you may be now but I think you have a good chance :) |

I would say if you are very small, as I am only 4' 11" that if you fall short of 1200 like 950 here and there you will be fine but that considering you do NOTHING all day and lay sedentary. You sound very active so I would consider trying to stay within a reasonable range that CC suggests. If your a tall, heavier built person who does a lot of exercise than I'd say you should truely try to up your cals. A handfull of nuts, a glass of whole milk, some peanut butter on toast are all good ways to boost the calories up when you need it. The site will give you an A if you only eat a banana for the entire day...... doesn't take into consideration how many calories, it's looking at the overall grade of all the foods you have eaten. |

Did you set it at sedentary? It's probably recommending a pound a week since they don't like to see a female go below 1200/day. I'd stick with the 1700 since you're pretty active and you're a pretty tall girl, I certainly wouldn't go down any. |

I think you'll be just fine, in fact I ran your stats at a light activity level and you burn roughly 2300 cal/day just from that so you're already starting with a 600cal/day deficit which is more than adequate. |

I've also been zig zagging and it's been working great for me, also gives me something to look forward to on my higher cal days, I know I can have a Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich for dessert or something a bit heavier for dinner. On my low cal days I just stick to it because I know I can have a little more the next day. I also do it with the exercise like scaroppo, been steadily loosing :) |

I must say........I did give in to the trial and I don't know if it's mental or if it really did what it said but either way I thought it was good. I noticed an intense change in my appetite. I of course immediately cancelled before my trial ended because I didn't want them to ship more but now I've decided to order a month supply. Like I said it may be mental but hey, maybe that's all I need.... I could probably stick a bandaid to my arm as long as someone told me it "will work". |

| Weight Loss | i need help - i dont understand why this site is telling me i wont lose weight | Apr 05 2008 21:20 (UTC) |

Original Post by domi1214: The date will continue to go up until you log your weight loss. It calculates your trend based on your log and gives you the estimated date from there, so if your constantly logging a two pound loss every week it works off of that based on your prior entries and typical loss, if you aren't logging anything for a week or two it assumes you are at the same weight since your last entry and will keep moving the date ahead, does that make sense? You could also try zig zagging your calories to give your metabolism a little "confusion" and start losing again. Here is a site that can recommend zig zagging calories for your height, weight, etc. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calc ulator.htm#

I agree with birdy, the only other thing you could do is focus mainly on working the lower half of your body, concentrate on the glutes and legs. If the upper body is good just the way it is don't worry about doing "full body" workouts, Delores Mundez has a great video called "Killer Butt" that focus's on the lower half of the body, thighs and glutes mostly. |

Original Post by elise_m: I do the same, but I'm a pretty repetative person, most of my daily foods are tagged so it's easy. I usually input what I'm planning for breakfast, lunch and dinner the night before and I also feel it makes me stick to what I've planned. When I go on that evening to enter the next days meals I make any adjustments if I've had a snack or only ate half my lunch etc., |

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
