Weight Loss Fluoxetine and Weight Loss Nov 17 2008

I have taken fluorexetine for a long time, on and off, and it never seemed to influence how much weight I lost or gainned. But what I've heard is that it's supposed to help you lose, if that.. I'm currently on it, and don't think it's been having an influence on my weight loss.

Weight Loss Is it bad to top up calories at the end of the day? Nov 12 2008

I'm no expert, but I don't necesarily think it's bad to hae a 500 cal dinner. That's not even THAT high in my opinion.

I think though, that when you eat less throughout the day you tend to overeat. And it had been proven that women(or people in general I think) whom have a bigger breakfast tend to weight less because they eat less throughout the day.

If can't eat a big quantity of food for breakfast, try eating something small but dense in cals. Like toast with peanut butter or something like that. And maybe try adding nuts like almonds, walnuts, olive oil to your snacks and salads..

just my two cents. good luck.

Like most people here I have also been through that. And it is a hard habit to overcome. All you want is to be able to eat "normal".

I found that what worked for me, was to not restrict myself so much. I used to be really restrictive, which led to an eating disorder (bulimia) I still struggle with.  I have been so much better for the past few months and have been able to lose weight successfully.  Just don't restrict yourself so much and make a goal to eat something you like and consider not 100% healthy, and stop at that.  For example, allow yourself a cookie or a piece of chocolate or something you really enjoy everyday, and stop at a serving size. It will be hard at first, but it will get easy. With time, you will see you will be able to eat something "bad" once in a while and it will be fine.  I used to choose not to out with my friends for fear that there would be food. The thing is, we feel like there's only two ways of eating  - very healthfully, or very badly. There is a middle ground and IMO that's where "normal" eating stands.

It might have been creepy, but you should feel good about it!! At least you look hot! haha

I do agree with you though, that he should have been more appropriate if he wanted to compliment you on your weight loss. Something along the lines of  "good job on your weight loss" would have probably been better.

Congrats on your weight loss nonetheless!

Oh sister,

Been there, done that.

I was though, an exchange student in the US (TWICE!), so it's 10 times worse food wise.

It feels like the water has calories, you gain weight just by looking at food! I honestly think it's part of the experience, cause everyone I know has gained weight while studying abroad. My first exchange, when I was 16, I gainned like.. 30 lbs or more (not sure cause I didnt have the guts to weight myself.), no joke, I felt awful and was surely the fattest I have been in my life. I lost the weight pretty quickly once I got back though. The second time, was just this past year, I was so paranoid about gainning weight that I tried really hard not to gain any weight. I did gain some, but nothing at all compared to the first experience! (I just got back a few months ago and have already lost it all). I say don't go crazy but don't stress too much over it, I think a little weight gain is inevitable and It's not the end of the world, once you go back you'll lose the weight quickly. Enjoy the different foods with moderation, don't gain 30 lbs like I did, cause coming back and seeing the terrified looks on the faces of your friends and family is not at all pleasant, I can tell you that much.
