Well I am on track.

Current Weight = 245

I didn't have a good week with calorie consumption up.  But I also increased my exercise regimen so I guess I burned off the extra calories.

Yes, downloading mysterious software is a bad idea.  But firefox is an another browser, comparable to Internet Explorer.  It is free.

Hi Shanonna...

Also, with all the salt you've ingested, make sure you drink a lot of water. Often we reach for food, not knowing that our craving is actually for fluids, not food.

I have to watch my salt intake because it makes me thirsty and that leads to water retention which leads to weight gain.  Remember a gallon of water weighs about 8 lbs so a quart weighs 2 lbs.

Weight Loss What kind of "eater" are you ? May 29 2008

Original Post by free_style:

I am an emotional eater; I enjoy eating. I do not eat for satisfaction. I am trying to change this but currently, I eat out of sheer boredom. Maybe once have I did a Chipotle burrito and then ate B&R ice cream.

I eat when I have something on my mind or when I am bored. If I am bored, I will snack uncontrollably. I am trying to have things around that are not high in calorie or fat content but sometimes, I do just want an ice cream.

You said it all for me.  I have found that some foods are like poison: ice cream bars, biscotti, ice cream in any form, peanut butter.  I have found that when I emotionally eat I loose track of any portions.  So I have to keep the poison foods out of reach at the store.

and tend to eat alot at night. What should i do?

I have the same problem. By the time I reach 9 PM I start my snacking. I need to bring this under control. I have a good supper at 6 PM but I find my mind wandering to the refrigerator or pantry shelves. I have half a bag of microwave popcorn but this doesn't satisfy me.

I also think Edwards would be a good choice.  The middle class, of which I am a member, has been squeezed and squeezed.  With the price of gasoline going up, up and away (which leads to inflation - higher prices for no increase in value) I think Edwards gets it.  Just wait till we pay $8 dollars for a gallon of milk, then maybe we will all get it.

Two months have gone by since the last post.  In answer to your question "Who should be Obama's VP?", I think that Hillary might be wrangling for that job.  It is a stepping stone to the Presidency (14 of the last 43 Presidents have been VP).

What do you think?

I am a guy, 64 years old and trying to loose 64 pounds, which is 29 kilograms. I live in the United States. I am struggling since I have been living a sedentary life style with very little exercise. I know that exercise is the key to shedding weight. If you want I will be your buddy.

I've been here since March 23 and I think this is great.  My wife does not use this site but counts calories religiously.  She has shed over 60 lbs.  This site makes it so easy to count calories while watching our for nutrition.  I feel great since I have joined.

I have had some good days and bad days (see my journal) but the weight is slowly starting to come off.  And better yet I haven't gained anything.

Foods Organic Foods. Worth the effort? Apr 02 2008

I would like to believe in the law of supply and demand, i.e. the more of something the lower the price. However I believe that organic food is like gasoline. Neither seems to be in short supply (I mean when was the last time you went to the gasoline station and found no gasoline or the grocery store and found no organic food?) Instead it is the speculators that keep the price up in the commodities markets. That and a belief on the part of large companies that we will continue to pay whatever they charge.

As long as there is a shortage of common sense on the part of those paying the bills (we consumers) the price of both gasoline and organic food will remain high. As for me I will be eating less organic and driving as little as possible. This also means that we will be eating out less and doing other things away from home less.

I have formerly used WeightWatchers but have not felt too good as I lost weight (25 lbs).  Then I stumbled upon this site.

It is a way to plan a nutritiious diet and exercise program and yet shed weight.  Notice I did not say loose weight.

Well, the bickering, as covered by the media, continues.  It is obvious that HRC is willing to do anything, including change the rules for the nomination.  I mean what is all of that flap about selecting the nominee using electoral college rules?

Sounds like desperation to me.
