When I first started to diet it took me 2 months to lose 10 pounds.  I then added in weight training and cardio (about 1/2 hour of each every other day). The next 2 months I lost 30 pounds!  I bet if you add in the excercise and weight training, the weight will start falling off.  You'll feel better too.  Remember to adjust your calorie intake accordingly.  And Dont Give Up!  Your on the right track.

Hi everyone.  Is it too late for me to join?  Im 47, 5'7", 2 kids (23 & 24) and currently 155.  I had lost 75 pounds about 3 years ago and went from an size 18 to a size 4!  (Yea!!!)   I was able to keep it off until 4 months ago when I started to gain.  I had changed jobs which was high stressed, lots of travel, working weekends, ugh!   I hadnt changed my eating habits during that time (actually carried a cooler around with me with healthy foods) but the new job didnt allow me to get to the gym as often.  And I was sooo tired.  But I gained 14 lbs in 4 months?! So I changed jobs again and took the last week off.  I joined CC last week (great site!), tracked my calories and got some rest.  So far I've lost 5 lbs.  I think Im approaching menapuause too.  Getting some night sweats on occassion and somewhat irregular.  Hmmmm - Maybe thats the cause of the weight gain?  Or could fatigure cause weight gain?  I eat around 1400 calories a day and get the gym 3 days a week.  Im eating well below my BMR but the pounds are very slow coming off.

I used to go and do a full workout every day until my personal trainer said that it wasnt healthy for me.  But he also said that if I felt I must go, (more because of the high I got from excercising) then to work on different muscles each day.  This way it would give the muscles a rest.  so one day I worked my arms and the next I would focus on the legs.  I did cardio everyday.  If you feel like going everyday, then do so.

How often should you eat during the day?

It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
