| Pregnancy & Parenting | What do I do with my screaming babys | Jun 23 2008 17:05 (UTC) |

What a tough situation for a momma to be in...
I am not a mom (yet) but I do have 4 loving nephews that range from 11 years to 7 months that I have been deeply involved in their lives, plus all my friends and neighbors have kids. It is very normal at this stage for your twins to suffer from anxiety. They are going through a lot of changes and are becoming more mobile which to them is exciting and scary. I also suggest you let them cry, you being the mom know your kids crys and as long as it is not the "I'm hurt" cry they are fine. Just take a deep breath, you are doing GREAT!!! Remember this time is a short time; soon they will be walking, running and playing and not wanting to be attached to momma 24/7. Stay Strong and vent away. We are here for support and to listen! :) |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | PCOS? Signs and symptoms? | Jun 23 2008 16:55 (UTC) |

Wilkiea ~ You have had some great responses and a great attitude... I wanted to add my story and TTC Journey so far. My husband and I have been TTC for almost 4 years with wacky cycles as well. All my symptoms point to PCOS but my Dr (at the time) refused to believe my self diagnosis and refused to test me for PCOS or anything else fertility related for that matter. I was not as knowlegable as I am now and believed that this Dr had my best intentions in mind. This was not the case in my situation and I quickly learned that I am my own advicate and that if one Dr does not do what you want them to do then move on to one that will listen and has the same goal as you. The point of my story is that no one knows you body like you do. If you have wacky cycles then go get checked out and do not take no for an answer. I also suggest you start charting your BBT if you do not do this already. Print your charts out and take them to your GYN. I do not suggest you take OPK's as if you do have PCOS they will not be accurate. Writing/Blogging about it does help a ton! My husband and I are currently saving for the RE and are scheduled to go in early August. I too am here should you need to vent, ask questions, cry, etc. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!! |

I have been so busy that I have not even submitted my points for the last week. I would love to do the June Slimming Minis but I doubt I would be able to keep up with posting everyones points, hopefully spacedreamer will come back and do it. :)
Newmama If it is okay I will submit my points for the last week in the next few minutes, if you dont want to count them that is fine too. I have just been so busy but I have to brag on myself that I have not slipped at all and have been sticking to my life style change. :) |

Congrats to you! Bringing a child into a loving home is an amazing experience and a blessing. You have received some wonderful comments from prior posters and I wanted to add that I agree with them completely... It is not beneficial for you or the child to get married just because you are expecting a blessing. You two are already committed to each other and you are a grown woman. IMHO Do not pressure your BF into anything unless you know in your heart that pregnancy or not you want and wanted to get married before you saw the two lines on the HPT. Family is an amazing thing, when you least expect it they will pull through when you need them the most. If not don't worry, nothing warms a persons heart like a child does. Take it one day at a time and if you do receive negative comments let them know that you are a grown woman and do not need their acceptance but they do need to respect your decision and leave their negative comments at the door. Best of luck to you and enjoy your pregnancy and your new journey. |

I too have irregular cycles and have been ttc for 3.5 years. I have done prometrium and clomid and they have not worked for me but that does not mean that they will not work for you. Good Luck! Have the Dr's discovered why you are having irregular cycles? |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Maternity Clothes | May 14 2008 13:46 (UTC) |

Where you buy your maternity clothes really depends on your budget and how much you are willing to spend to get the style of maternity clothes you like and want. Mimi maternity and A Pea in the Pod have some really cute clothes but are pricey. Old Navy has some adorable stuff and is reasonably priced, Target also has some really cute stuff and is also reasonably priced. Ebay is another great place to find maternity clothes both Gently Used and New. When my sister was pregnant I bought her a ton of name brand maternity clothes on Ebay for a fraction of the costs. Most were New with tags removed. Good Luck and have fun. |

Rozie I understand your frustration completely! My Husband decided he wanted to loose weight the Sunday after Easter so he started counting calories with me and cutting out the high calorie sodas and only exercise on the weekends... well here it is 7 weeks and he has lost about 20 lbs and is about 6-7 lbs from his goal weight! Me I have been counting calories way longer than him (about 14 weeks) and have lost about 15lbs and have another 15-17 lbs to go to reach my goal weight plus I work out about 2 hrs a day and 3-4 on weekends. My point with all that is you are not alone and it is not fair but we are in this together and keep your chin up. Plus think about all the cute summer clothes we will be able to buy.
Newmama ~ Congrats on the Triathalon! Cheering! |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Question about clomid use and ovulation??? | May 06 2008 18:42 (UTC) |
|
First of all I would like to tell you that I am sorry that you TTC for 2 years with no luck and secondly I hope clomid works for you. I have a lot of friends that have gotten pregnant on clomid :)
Statistics show that a woman ovulates 5-9 days after the last pill of clomid so you should expect ovulation between CD 14-18 but dont get discouraged if you do not get a positive OPK between this window because that is only statistics. Also, is your Dr monitoring you with u/s & bw? Are you charting your BBT & CM? Clomid has lots of side effects, the most common is hot flashes and a change in your CM. While I was on clomid I took my pill at night and it helped with the hot flashes and used preseed (sperm friendly lubricant) and did well. I did not get pregnant on my rounds of clomid and am saving for more aggressive ART procedures. I also do not have regular cycles but that is a whole different story... Good Luck and best wishes to you. |

Sydney ~ It is 1 point for completing the challenge, not for each repetition ;) "Challenges can be completed once each day. 1 point for each challenge completed (not for each repetition of physical challenges)"
I would like to suggest the Me time challenge. I believe it is important! |

Original Post by newmama13: I am so excited about this challenge this month. There are some awesome suggestions for personal and Physical challenges! I still need to set goals for my points and weightloss for this month. Newmama you are so sweet! I am very motivated to get this extra weight off of me. I suffer from infertility and I am going to see a Reproductive Dr. this summer (trying to save $ for it currently as it is so expensive and our insurance, even though it is great, does not cover treatments) so I said to myself that I was going to get to a healthy weight and get as physically fit as possible between now and then. I have lost a little over 11 lbs and have another 18-20. This challenge is really helping to keep me going strong. This is going to be a great month! |

Awesome! I obviously am very motivated to loose this extra weight. Have we talked about what our motivation is?
Challenge suggestions: Personal - 1. Make a menu for the week & Stick to it. 2. Make a grocery list and stick to it. 3. Play with your pets (if you dont have pets play with friends/family pets). Physical - 1. Lunges with weights 2. 30 minutes of cardio (moderate or higher) |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | How long did you try (or how long have you been trying)? | May 01 2008 17:29 (UTC) |

We have been ttc for 3.5 years and infertility is such a hard thing to deal with. We are currently at the point where we are saving for the RE. The fact that most insurance plans consider infertility treatment or ART as elective, unapproved medical treatments really burns my behind. Also, having to go to a special doctor in order to do what comes naturally to so many women makes me feel like a failure. Well, enough about my woes... We have a plan now and god willing I will be pregnant by the early fall 08!
For those of you TTC I do suggest the book TCOF as suggested in an above post, I also suggest charting your bbt & cm and most of all do not get frustrated if you do not get that BFP right away. Get your husbands/SO's involved in your charting so it becomes a learning experience for both of you. Also, it is proven that when husbands/SO's get involved DTD (doing the deed) becomes less of a chore and less stressful for both you and your Husband/SO. You ladies may not know what I mean by DTD being a chore and stressful for you and your Husband/SO but they stress about not being successful too. Make sure that you ask your Husband/SO how they feel and give them reassurance from time to time. If any of you need a shoulder or advise just send me a message. I am not sure if this is permitted, but I am a member of an infertility forum and get great support there. I think it is a great idea and is very helpful to have a community of people that are going along the same journey as you are. |

fattyj: Good luck with your paper & BTW I am not an Aggie, I went to U of H nev2719--Congrats! That is so awesome. I don't think there is a better feeling then buying new clothes that are smaller than your current clothes. Shout away!!! :) My goals for the day are: 1. Wash all cooking and dinner dishes vs using the dishwasher 2. Spend quality time with hubby before he goes to work. We really have a struggle with this sometimes since he works nights and I work days. :( 3. Read more on my book for this month. I only have a few more days and I really wanted to reach that goal. I also hope we do a May slimming minis because I am so in. This competition has been so motivational for me. Thanks to Spacedreamer1 for everything you do & thanks to all of you for the support and motivation!
Keep up the good work ladies. :Cheering:

restless_girl that challenge sounds awesome & congrats on the binge free day.
Fattyj Yes, it is an A&M jacket, that is my sister and she graduated from A&M :) Did you go to A&M?
This may be TMI but since it seems like a lot of us are on the same cycles... My cycle was way different this month. Granted I have been working out a ton so that could effect it... IDK just curious if any of you are experiencing the same thing... |

| Weight Loss | Are you better during the week or the weekend | Apr 08 2008 02:13 (UTC) |

Weekends were the worse for me before my husband joined me in loosing weight. Now Weekends are just as easy as Weekdays. :) My biggest thing is that I make a menu which includes snacks and meals for the entire week. Sunday to Saturday. If I know what is in the fridge and what I have scheduled for us to eat we are excellent and maybe splurge on a guilt free 2% banana milkshake on Sunday afternoons. :) |

I am trying to get away from my snooze button crutch and only hit is 2 times today so maybe one day this week I can get up with the first ring of it and have a quick morning workout. :) |

| Weight Loss | Which weight would you log? | Apr 07 2008 16:08 (UTC) |

My suggestion is to take the 1st weight but I would also replace the battery in your scale as that might be part of the problem. At any rate... Congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome no matter if it is 3 lbs or 1 lb! |

| Calorie Count | Logging in food diary | Apr 04 2008 13:36 (UTC) |

Find a plan that works for you will take trial and error. Logging your food on a notebook or your cell phone in a text message (this is what I do when I can't log onto a computer for a while) :) are always great ideas. Another thing that might help you save some time is to get a voice recorder (some cell phones have it) you could speak what you consumed then at the end of the day you could enter it into the log. I tag everything that I consume and find it easier to log as I eat so I know exactly where I am for the day. What I also do is make a menu for the week for breakfast, lunch & dinner; I already know what I am going to eat and I can log it easily. Only having to adjust it for snacks and water intake. This works for me. Ultimately find a way that works for you and stick to it. Isn't that was CC is really all about? :) Good Luck! |

Brianneo TCOF is a great book and a good investment. If you have a hard time taking your temps every day I suggest you join fertility friend. They have a temp adjustment options that is pretty accurate. Do you mind me asking why you have a hard time taking your temps at the same time daily? If it is because of weekends and your schedule being different daily then could you set an alarm for the same time everyday, take your temp and go back to sleep if you do not have to get up? I do this and it does not interrupt my sleeping in on the weekends. :) Good Luck & Best Wishes! |

This Challenge is awesome!
I love the challenges and the motivation. Thanks!!! I am going to try the get out of bed with the first alarm because usually I hit snooze 3 times and get up on the 4th alarm, bad I know :) I wish I could take the stairs at work. They are restricted for security purposes so that stinks but that is a great challenge. Keep up the good work everyone! |
