My loss is nothing compared to the hard work most of you have gone through. But I'll post. I cannot even imagine, the hard work, as I felt losing 10 lbs was not easy. Age: 40 (just turned, ugg) Hgt: 5'1" SW: 118 CW 108 Calories 1350 It took me almost 6 mos to lose 10lbs, I cut calories but not dramatically. I think counting really helped me change my eating habits. I try to be active every day and at least get a good walk in. I go to the gym about 1 to 2 times per week for hard workout. |

I too am at the lower end of the "healthy" BMI range and considered fairly petite, and my thights touch. I think I would look awful if I was skinny enough for them not to touch. |

Woo Hoo, Do not get discouraged and think you cannot lose weight, it has taken me just about 3 months to lose 8.5lbs. Just hang in there. Types on losing weight/keeping weight off I read in my Shape mag: 1. Weigh in frequently 2. Eat a large breakfast 3. Keep a food diary Have a great week. Karen |

Back from my week long vacation in Cape Cod (it was great), I ate whatever I wanted, did not count calories and only worked out one day, so far it has not shown up on the scale. I am not going to hold my breath that it won't. But for now I'm 110, I'm back on the CC wagon and trying to lose 2-5 more by my 40th on 7-27.

I am fallan off the wagon, I have not been working out, due to illness and a sprained ankle that won't get better, and then I really fell off the calorie restricting wagaon yesterday. So after being really happy I reached 110 lbs, this morning I was 111. I am going on vacation on Thursday, I am going to try not to gain - wish me luck. Hi, may I join? I started a group but it fizzled. Age: 39 (want to be thin and hot by the time I am 40 on 7-27) CW 110.5 (already lost 7.5lbs) Goal: 105-108 Height 5'1 1/2 (that 1/2 counts when your only 5'1") Luvmyboy, I am a Mommy to a almost 4 year old little boy, who is the light of my life. When I first started to lose weight and was cutting back on treats and working out more he asked me why and I said because I want my tummy to be smaller, he told me he loves my big tummy and boobs and doesn't want them smaller |

I have not read all the other posts, I am very pro breastfeeding. As far as losing weight, I wish I was as skinny now as I was when I was breastfeeding. I lost all my baby weight 4 mos after my baby was born and kept losing. One of my friends said I was "boobs on a stick" I have never had such a great figure as I did when I was breastfeeding and I ate whatever I wanted. ONe of the great myths is that breastfeeding makes your breasts sag, it is actually pregnancy that can make your breasts sag, look it up. |

I am 5'1" and try and to eat around 1250, to 1350, I have a sendentary job, but up and doing stuff at home (I have a 3 1/2 year old son). I work out about 3-4 times per week. I am losing weight, not fast but losing I have lost 6.5 lbs in two months. |

Hi, my goal is also 10lbs, I have lost 6.5 so far. I am trying to keep my calories around 1250, but it is usually closer to 1350, I allow for more calories on my hard workout days. BTW I am a very petite female, with a sedentary job although I exercise approx 3-4 days a week. Yesterday I was at 1260 here is what I ate: Latte (made at home) with soy milk & nonfat milk- 80 cal Very Healthy bran muffin - 220 cal Banana - 100 cal Frozen Ravioli - 280 Apple - 55 Hearts of palm - 35 Small Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwich 380 (no mayo) white wine 80 Total 1260 After two months of restricting calories it has gotten easier. There are days when I am just HUNGRY and my calorie intake has been around 1500, but I also think you have to listen to your body. When it wants chocolate, have it, just not much. I have to have a sweet after lunch. So I bought these small dark chocolate squares that only have 35 calories, and that is enough to satisfy that craving. |

Hi Turquoise, welcome. You can join us but it seems many people have joined us to quickly move on. I recently started with a personal trainer at my gym and she is having me do less cardio, I was doing 40-50 minutes, she said just do 30 minutes and then weights. Building muscle will burn more calories in the long run. Good luck to you. I am at a plateau or worse gaining, I have not been eating more or working out less, I gained 1lb, which could be water weight, but I should be losing since I have a caloric defeciet each day, what is up?

Hi Huntermom, welcome! Great going Naruelle, that is encouraging. Diodnardionarap, you have dropped fast, it sounds like you are doing everything right. Does anyone else's hunger fluctuate a bunch? I am starved today and didn't work out a bunch or anything. Yesterday, I just powered through, I didn't even have to try to curb the caloric intake. I signed up for personal training at my gym, I'm starting Saturday. I still won't be able to work out that much more, but I hope it provides some new ideas and motivation. |

Oh, I forgot to tell you I have nixed the idea of liposuction. I really wanted to, but, one; it would be a financial strain on me; second and most important, i don't want to take uncessasary (and vain) risks with my life and health when i have a son to take care of. |

Hi Everyone! Great job Jennifers1020!! Welcome arose32! I fell off the wagon for the first time in about 5 weeks this weekend. I had carnitas taco's, See's candy, homemade chocolate and cheese crepe's. My weight hasn't showed it yet, and hopefully now the weekend is here I will get back on track (although I did just have a piece of candy). We were going to weigh in on Mondays: Me: 114.5. |

Hi, I wish it was muscle but sadly I don't think it is, I have never gained much weight with muscle, when I was weight lifting 5 days a week I was 100 lbs. I think I lost water weight and gained it back. Chanegal2- I have to respectively disagree with you about 1200 calories being unhealthful, CC actually suggests I take in 1200, although my goal is 1250 because I just can't seem to only take in 1200. Depending on your size 1200 can be sufficient. I am only 5'1" with a small frame and currently 115. Mrs. Skittles - I weigh myself almost every day, but someone had the idea of postings on Mondays. |

Hi Vanessa and Sarah, welcome. Our group started off great and has fizzled, but it is still alive and kicking. Great job Sarah on losing 13 lbs, 15 more to go. And you too Vanessa, 12 lbs is great especially in a month. I know what you mean about your metabolism changing, mine did too about the same age, I lost all the weight and kept it off for a long time. But then had a baby and breastfed, which allowed me to eat whatever I wanted and since I stopped I have gradually gained weight. I lost 4 lbs the first week and then gained 2 lbs back for some unknown reason. Our goal was to weigh in on Mondays and support each other with our successes and struggles. |

What happened to our group, it was gangbusters and then it faded. So I gained back 2 lbs, I'm not sure how that happened I have been sticking to the diet and exercising. When I have eaten more it has been on days I exercised. Any ideas? |

Nora, I agree it is tough. I have to remind myself that as well. Last night I just had to have chocolate! Also I am finding it hard to give up that "full" feeling, which is actually overfull, eating past the point of satisfying your hunger. It is so hard. We just need to all be thankful, we are not trying lose hundreds of pounds, I cannot imagine how difficult that must be. Welcome Dizzanners! I also stopped watching what I ate during pregnancy and then while breastfeeding, because I could eat whatever I wanted and was still skinny with big boobs So I have a semi-controversial subject to bring up. I am thinking about getting liposuction. Yes I still need to loose weight, but not much, 6lbs. Even when I was at my thinnest, 102 lbs, I had a belly. Now it is even worse. I am going to turn 40 this month and would like to look and feel "hot". I have a couple of consultations lined up next week. Luckily, where I live, Orange County, CA it is not hard to find plastic surgeons. |

Nora, Don't be too hard on yourself, we all want to loose the weight but it is also the overall goal of changing eating habits, everyone is going to have off weeks, (especially the PMS week).

KL, 2lbs for the week is great! Thank you for the tip. I ate more this weekend but I was also much more active, so it balanced out. I actually think that is easier than trying to limit my food intake so much, but as I said before it is finding the time to work out. Week 2: 114 lbs (down 4 lbs woo hoo Not to be negative, but I think the next 6 will be more challenging, I think the 4 was a alot of water weight brought on from some medicine I was taking. How is everyone else doing? |
