So sorry. I had emergency surgery on the 30th, and that has just been my focus. I'm still going to try to work on weight loss, but through eating as I can't workout. I can walk, but I can't tolerate much...life just got crazy, just when I thought it was calming down! Sorry I haven't been following, but I still want to participate!

hmmm...having trouble with cut and paste.

A CC buddy just sent me an email about it and I logged on in time to read it just not sure if I make that last slot?

In case i'm 28, 152.4lbs and i've been stuck at about 150-155 for a while, recently going up ot 157 for health reasons. Funny enough ppl like the extra weight on me, I however i'm not pleased with the extra roundness in the booty and belly:) So i'm finally back to working out, even had to stop that for health reasons, and I'd love to have good company in doing so. I did try a cleanse which helped me to drop down pretty quickly but I have a feeling that might come back quickly. By the 4th i'd like to be 145lbs, I think i'd even be good with 148, its been hard to break 150 in the past, but would love to do it. Just let me know if i'm in!

155lbs

Goal weight by June 18th (bday) 150 and then 145 & tone from there

I'm cool with the forum format. Are we going to have regular weigh ins? I read something about saturdays but not sure if its official. I suggest a midweek weigh in, like wednesdays. Looking forward to chatting it up with you guys, and seeing everyone progress!

This is quote and reply day for me, augenblick add more weights to switch up the intensity for you body. And do you rotate workouts? Such as level 1, 1, 2, one week, and say 2 3 2 the next? Vary the intensity as well and that will help with seeing more gains.

Hey girls, hang in there, sometimes the scale really doesn't cooperate but eventually the weight goes down if you stick with the good old eating and exercise combo. And I totally believe that the guards go down closer to the goal. I keep wondering how it's going to be for me then and what I will do. I think it's good to keep counting the calories for at least 3-6 months during this transition until you get a good grasp of how many calories is your actual maintenance level. I think it must be difficult after so long to let yourself eat  more without going overboard. And definetly avoid the scale, maybe just once a week, it shouldn't be focus of your life. And please do strength training!  I heard Dr. Oz saying that it's really important to help women not only to lose but mainly to maintain their weight. Because muscles burn more calories and gives a little more room on the eating part. Increase muscle mass (important for bone health too), that's the way to go.

gram, thanks for your support. I'm also in disbelief that I'm running myself. Today the weather was beautiful and I tried running outside on the track. It's much more difficult than on the treadmill! There's the wind, the harder surface and it's so difficult to regulate speed. After 1.25 miles I had to stop and when I calculated my speed I realized I was running at 5.8mph. No wonder I was ready to colapse! So I walked another mile and manage to run another 1.25 miles a little bit slower. You see, I set another goal for myself. There's this 4 mile race in NY city (Miles for Moms) and benefits cancer research. So it would be a great way to comemorate my 1 year new lifestyle anniversary running in Central Park. Maybe I'm way over my head, but I'm giving a shot. Wish me luck!

Its always harder outside because you have to adjust to all of the factors you mentioned, but you did a good job of running and walking, and really just maintaining movement. Keep doing more runs outside along with the treadmill and it will help you get ready for that race. Good luck! and have I told you you're freakin amazing?!:)

HI!

Bkmanda don't give up, after a looong plateau I can finally say 149!!! so happy, but it was so hard. keep up the good work and it will pay off for sure! last Sunday I did a 10k race and broke my record 50min 35 sec, I was hopping for less than 50 but I will take it happily, last year I was running my 10k 16 minutes longer, so it was a great improvement and my best time ever. I guess that running with 44lbs less helps a lot.

Healthmd congrats on your milestone! 170's  I'm happy for you!

Candilovesjon is good to read you again

You are amazing, congrats on breaking your record, keep on running!!

Ok, i'm a little ashamed to report in this week, because I feel like i'm not moving on the scale and i'm like dead weight on the team...I know its not that bad, but still.

LW 152.2

CW: 152. 4

I'm just at a loss. I didn't work out much this week though, just was  totally unmotivated and very tired, with the exception of push ups. I feel like I keep saying maybe next week, but then it comes and its the same story, dunno, but at a loss. I did sign up for the 100 pound challenge with Dr. Ian this morning though, and that comes with free meal suggestions, so i'll try to follow that and get back to exercising.

But to everyone else, keep up the good work, its great to hear your stories. And I agree, size 5 is about right. I think we need to trade places in terms of maintaining and loosing. All the best to everyone.

Hey ladies! Welcome back Candi, sounds like you came back with a great plan, good luck to you!

Augenblick i like 1/2lb loss, keep shreding it up. It is a great at home all around workout DVD. I did it once this week, plan to do it tomorrow. Had to buy some lighter weights so I could actually get through the workout, got ahead of myself with some 8lb'ders, wasn't ready for that.

Gram, where are you?!

HealthMD, awesome job, i'm dancing with you!:)

Maybe all that dancing will help me get off this hill! LW: 151.90, CW: 152.20

Which is still within the same range, but I am sooo tired of the 150's. Belly Dancing was great last week, it was a fun workout. I didn't find it super intense which was great because I was so fatigued last week. This week i've still been at the gym, but weight is not budging. Don't know what else to do but keep working out! That said i'm off to Belly Dancing!!

Take care ladies. And i'm trying to break 150 for st. patty's.

I think i'm stuck on a hill, but i'm working sooooo hard this week that my body is extra fatigued. Maybe by next week I can get over the hump. Arrrrrgh!

I did get the shred video, did level one this morning, and I plan to go to the gym tonight for bellydancing, wooooh!

Keep working hard ladies! You guys are so inspiring.

Just getting on here to weigh in.

LW 152

CW 151.8 (not where I want to be but i've been amazingly committed to the gym, I feel great, and i'm starting to see definition which is fabulous. It is REALLY hard to break 150, but i'm off this week and plan on doing some double workouts, I refuse to give up!!

augenblick I like that goal, good luck with it! My girlfriends and I are planning a trip to Florida in April and the goal is to be beach body ready by then:) Think i'm going to purchase a victoria secret bathing suit if I can get waaaaay under 150 :)

Healthmd- Good stuff on the loss this week, I know its hard to get that scale to move, so I applaud the work you put in. My shred still hasn't gotten here! I ordered it from Amazon and I didn't think it would be this long, but it really is, I might have to contact the seller today.

Gram Gram- good to hear from you. It looks like you didn't have that much of a gain which is great and its good to hear you are back on track, i'm sure next time it'll be pounds lost!

I'm in till St. Patty's. I love checking in with this group, I work hard sometimes just knowing I have to come on here and be accountable to you guys.

Happy Valentines Ladies and see you Thursday.

Augenblick I like the mini goals as well, i'm focused on valentines for now, and then will set a new mini goal for st. Pats day. Maybe after valentines we can weigh in and put what our next mini goal is.

Gterv, I'm still impressed with the triatholon's and all the other lons:) I know that takes a level of commitment and strength so power to you, keep it up. I'm hoping to start the Shred DVD soon just waiting for it to get here, I wanted to start it already, but shipping is out of my control.

Healthmd hope the C25K program is going well. I looked it up and decided I wasn't ready for all that yet, but it sounds like you are well on your way.

I like to stock up on canned beans when they are on sale. You can make alot of quick and simple meals with them. I just tried a sweet potato smoothered in black beans, I think there is a recipe on here, it was good and inexpensive. You can also add it to soups, with rice etc.

Foods Quaker or Kelloggs new fiber bars - anyone tried yet? Feb 06 2009

I tried the fiber one oats and caramel I believe (not sure if its kellog or not), it tastes pretty good and fairly filling if you eat regularly. It will probably be more filling with a fruit.

bkmanda, how old are you? Im 35 and 5'9'' (we are very similar) and I also want to break the 150's still at 152 It feels like its never going to happen, my original date goal was feb 13th my b-day an my goal weight is 143, obviously not happening by then, but my next important date is march 7th I have an Olympic distance triathlon....  lets see what happens by then. Good luck!

A triathlon? wow, nice. How have you been training for it? I'm 27 5'8 and i've been stuck in the 152-155 zone for awhile. Everytime I get in motion something throws me off, but i'm in motion again! I think you can break 150 or atleast hit 150! We can be workout buddies if you want to get back to about 142, so we are really similar.

But its Thursday so:

LW: 153.6

CW: 152.3 (I was 151.6 on monday...I should've had less mozzarella sticks last night)

I'm still very determined to atleast hit 150 by next Thursday and go under that by the following Thursday.

Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Take care!

Hi everyone

Just checking in to say hi!

Doing well, still at 152, so no loss for me, but its normal for me now not to lose for a couple  of weeks and then lose a lb, anyway I just wanted to add that I think that what keeps me in check even if I have a bad eating day is logging no mater the number, one day I logged 4,225 cal I almost fainted when I saw the huge number but, i think it helps to be accountable for what I'm eating even if its a lot.

Hugs to everyone

bkmanda I'm sorry for your loss, unfortunately I have been trhu that and I know how hard it can be, but its also help full if you can to keep taking care of your self..... I did not for that period and the result was more weight gain and more depression, so if you can try to eat right and exercise when you feel you can.

Thanks for the support. I went through like 2 weeks where I wasn't that great to myself, but I was able to get back into a healthier routine afterwards. So i'm focused on that now until I hopefully get to experience a healthy pregnancy. Thank you so much for letting me know you've been downt that road, I appreciate that.

I think this thread should go on FOREVER! or as long as we need it, maybe just keep adding significant next stops along the way, like valentines:)

So i'm am back on board. I needed a break, so candi take the break you need and I hope its helpful to your healing. I wish you peace of mind in that healing. And I loved gram's idea about the journal, maybe incorporate things like that into that break, it does help. I know I had to write a little bit to maintain my own sanity.  I unfortunately did miscarry, which is not a first time experience for me, but still hit home hard. So the emotional stress, and what was going on physically took a toll and it took about 2 weeks to reach the state of mind of moving on and working to be healthy for whenever we conceive again.

Gram- Thaks for your prayers and everyone else as well, i'm glad you guys didn't forget about me,:).  I read about your family situation and what came to mind is regardless of whats going on you have control over what you do and it already sounds like your doing what is best for you

Health Md- Keep on pumpin! And being that role model for your daughter. I know weight is always a touchy thing to talk about, I try to with my younger sister who is also in college and experiencing the same struggles, but she always gets upset when I bring it up. I think the best thing you can do is just show your daughter and wait for her to make her own choice to do something.

Gerv- do what works for you

augenblick and everyone else keep at it!:) The shred dvd sounds like its really working out for some of you guys?

All that said. A few big macs later I'm back at 153.6 lbs and my goal for Valentines is to break 150, and get to 148lbs.

TEAM= Together Everyone Achieves More and i'm looking forward to doing that with this groupLaughing

and i'm not sure yet whats going on with my body, but I might be pregnant. Which I hesistate to say because I've miscarried twice already and don't even want to breathe hard, furthermore talk about it for long. But my week has been off because of the above- feeling tired and eating a little more. I want to ask you guys to pray for me though, cause for the most part i've been ok with whatever way things go this time, but for some reason I just feel scared and sad today. I really haven't talked to anyone about this, and i'm gonna stop talking now, but just thought i'd vent and just ask for prayers. Thanks.

I came back to check on the posts for the day and all I can say is wow. I guess all in all you just have to appreciate every moment and try not to take things for granted. When I came back to NY last Thursday I got a message that an old teammate passed away from stomach cancer, she was in her 20's, which was another wow, and I hate to add to the wow:) but its just another reminder of how we have to hold on to what we have, as well as the lessons in what we don't have at all or anymore.

Anyways, I thought this was a weight loss group?!:) Just kidding, love all the support in almost every area of life...which I guess as we've seen is all releveant to weight.

wow, the wii is sounding like a nice investment, but factor in your economy question gram gram and I won't be getting it any time soon:) It hasn't been extremly stressful yet, thank God, but I know it is for alot of people around me. But keep working out, it will bring stress relief, maybe help clear your mind and keep your body in shape to handle what has to come your way. And like everything else, this to will pass. So hold on honey, HOLD ON:)

My vacation was lots of fun, my hubby especially enjoyed himself which was surprising. It was his first time there and he went with some preconceived notions that were not on the positive side. I did have to stop running up the hill because of the stray dogs:) They were a tad to scary at times:) lol. If you're a beach person Tobago is an excellent place to vacation. We loved it, and are far from good swimmers, but there's a beach for everyone- surfers, kids, wave lovers or those looking for something a bit calmer. And it's easy to get around if you rent a car. Awesome time.

Ladies! I actually miss the gang, I'm on vacation in Trinidad until after the new year and as I was walking up a hill...not for exercise, that's where the house is, I thought about the group and wanted to stop in to wish you all a happy holiday and a new year filled with greatness. I'm without question eating, and I don't feel guilty about it because I don't get to eat like this often, the problem is I can't work out because I feel like the stray dogs will chase me and i'm not down for catching a case of rabies so i've been taking it easy, but really feeling the need to work out. I KNOW i've gained weight, but do look forward to working out and counting calories when I get back. The first week especially might be fruits and vegetables, my body is a little off track from the foods even though it is native foods to me and I need to keep it light for that purpose.

But any way, I'll be back on line 1.15.09, If I remember i'll do it on 1.8 but I expect that to be like 500lbs:)but by valentines, which is our new date right? I'm aiming to break 150lbs for good. Whats everyones goal weight for valentines?

I might just wake up tomorrow and walk up and down the hill a couple times...why not!
