I know what you are talking about...I was horrified...it was all over the news and papers. What bothers me is that all of these young teenage girls are havig their youth taken from them because they believe that it is the right thing...because it is all they know and were raisied knowing...how sad.

I use plain old DAWN dish soap...it gets out grease from my boyfriends work pants among other stains that my kids get on their clothes...its always handy for me because thats what I use for my dishes-lol! Put it on the stained/dirty area, rub it in and let it set overnight...then wash normally....as for the socks, I have no idea...maybe use liquid fabric softner instead of the sheets...let me know how it turns out.

Hmmm...

I hated the NKOTB...I was a hair band girl...Poison, Slaughter, Winger, Nelsons, Skid Row, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Def lepard, G-N-R, Trixter, Warrant, Styx....

I used Rave4 hairspray...the wind would blow but my hair would barely move..

I wore holey jeans...if they didnt have holes, then I would put holes in them...

Then I went through a phase where I wore Skids, parachute pants and tight rolled all of my jeans....

Yeah-I know, I was wicked cool-lol!

I have actually never heard of birth control pills having those side effects...interesting.  I used Depo...like most birth control, weight gain is a main side effect...I gained about 10 lbs and I was one of those freaks of nature who still had my period regularly...it sucked-lol! But it worked and it was only something I had to think about every 3 months...it worked well for me.

actually I have been going through the same thing with my mom for the past few years. My mother is 5'6" and about 300lbs too...and she is a diabetic...she lives by herself, works full time and watches my neices and nephew while their parent work in the evenings...she eats crappy food and in excessive amounts...I have made many comments and I get "I am not trying to impress anyone"...no matter how much I express my concern with her health, she always has some sort of an excuse or comeback for me...of course, my Mom is a quiet person, shy and doesnt like confrontations...I dont know how I would react if she were to get angry with me.  It's hard but I think she would rather hear it from you than from someone else...no matter how much it hurts. Try a nice calm talk...express your concerns and tell her you would love to help her...you are already a good example : )

Health & Support blood cholestral levels. what really helps to lower them with diet Apr 01 2008

I eat oatmeal every morning....and I have lowered my salt intake majorly...I had high cholesterol but I have managed to lower mine by diet alone....it took me 6 months to do this though.

But you should know, that some people can not lower their cholesterol by diet alone...some people, no matter how good they eat, have to use medication.

my doctor now says that I dont need to lose weight-to wait until I am alittle heavier to see if I qualify for the gastric bypass...umm-does she need her glasses fixed? and why does she think I want a gastric bypass?  I have never mentioned it and seriously, I am not going to let myself get heavy enough to ever qualify for it...besides the weight issue, she is great...

lol!  Thats my line! You dont need to justify what you are doing for yourself to anyone, as long as its healthy. I am 6', 210 lbs and people always say I dont need to lose weight too...its because we are taller-we hide it better...there is more room to put all that weight.  The least I ever weighted was 165 and my face was very thin too but according to the BMI I am suppose to weight 155lbs! Yikes! I just explain it to my friends like this:  I am not happy with the way I look and its hard for me to enjoy myself or even feel comfortable when I feel this way...so I am doing something about it.  Smile

I am also the culprit for many things that my kids have NOT done...such as lights left on in a room where no one is....things not put back where they belong....and I am sure there are more...and I almost always apologize...but then there are times that they have really done these things.  Cool

In My Daughters eyes, by martina mcbride....

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Health & Support Anyone lost weight with an underactive thyroid? Mar 26 2008

5 years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, which was also after I had my son.  I went through a lot of tests but eventually they decided that it was necessary to remove my thyroid (radioactive iodine).  Since then I have been on thyroid medication and will remain on it for the rest of my life. And yes you can lose weight-it is a little harder but at one time, I was at my goal weight. So keep your head up.  Once they get your level back to where it is suppose to be and with diet and exercise, you will lose the weight.
