| my favorite soy milk is soy slender! i used to drink it sometimes anyway, before i found out i was lactose intolerant, but sometimes you just want cows milk! i'll give silk a try, and i also want to try almond breeze. i'm new at this dairy-free thing, so any tips or advice would be appreciated.
i'm going to try the lactaid...i'm just hesitant, because it's real milk, with added lactase. i'll report back in an hour or so. ha ha. |

| i've seen this show a few times...i find it so incredibly sad to see kids actually sobbing because they're so unaccustomed to fresh food that it's the end of the world to eat a healthier meal. and not even just vegetables, i saw a little girl sobbing over a piece of chicken. oof.
but what's hilarious about the computerized aging is the 'look' they give the kids. sometimes they throw in blue hair, piercings, hideous haircuts, just to freak out the parents even more. it's pretty funny. i do like this show, though. i agree that it's not executed particularly well, but the overall concept is good. |

| i say keep on going! you seem like you have a good head on your shoulders, and hey...if your body REALLY doesn't want you to lose 10 or 5 more pounds, (and you're trying to lose it in a healthy way) it will NOT make it easy for you. the body has all those nifty mechanisms designed to keep you in line.
and like someone else said, if you lose 10 and feel too thin, you can always put 5 or 10 lbs back on and maintain from there! |

| Foods | hey NY/NJ people, Re: Pizza | May 30 2007 20:42 (UTC) |

| Well, i'm looking for a general guide, not an exact calculation...but see this is kind of my point, a slice of pizza hut pizza is completely different than the slice i had at the local pizza place last night. pizza hut is thick and doughy, the pizza i ate was thin and crunchy. my point is that i'm looking for a food entry on here that's a little more like what i actually ate.
obviously eating out someplace like that doesn't really allow you to log your calories exactly, but i'd like to put something in my log regardless. |

| i wouldn't suggest victorias secret anyway. i was measured there twice, both times WRONG. when i told the salesgirl that i needed the next size up, she wouldn't get it for me because "that's not possible, i measured you, you're (insert size here)."
well hellooooooooooo, would you like to SEE my chest falling out of this bra you selected for me?? |

| everyone else pretty much got the basics covered, but i've found that my biggest setback/downfall is late-night eating...not because i just can't help myself, but because i have a night class every weekday until 930, i get home to my mom's house around 945, and i'm ravenous! i feel compelled to eat, and what would normally be a snack to satisfy me becomes a small dinner because my mother cooks dinner for herself and leaves it out for me. that's what i'm REALLY going to get serious about, not eating after i get home. or, if i absolutely cannot fight the urge, a piece of fruit, or a yogurt. otherwise, i wake up bloated and uncomfortable..not a great start to the day, and not very encouraging!
and as far as "what was most recently on sale at the grocery store"... I KNOW THE FEELING. heh. i live with my boyfriend the other half of the week, and what a pain it is that PASTA is what's ALWAYS cheap, and ALWAYS on sale! |

| poo talk is my favorite subject. i have such trouble going, my god. a few weeks ago, i didn't go for 6 days, and by the end of the 6th day, i was pale, in pain, and bloated to the point that i couldn't zip my jeans. i felt so uncomfortable and ill, and it happened to me two weeks in a row. prior to that, i had increased my fiber, and it helped for a while...then that happened and i reduced it. now i'm back down to more like 20g a day. still not going, but i'm not to the point of being sick, thank god.
I started the 'activia challenge' yesterday, and i started eating Post Cranberry almond crunch cereal, because a friend of my mother's claims it helps her go...so of course my mother promptly ran out and bought it for me. so, what the heck. i don't know WHY it makes her go, it's not high in fiber, and it's WAY higher in calories than most other cereals...but i'm factoring it in. lets pray to the poo gods tonight. |

| gee, once i made a similar post and i was ripped to pieces.
my boyfriend likes to buy ice cream because he loves it, and he knows i love it. so, i feel you on this one. also, i went to a red robin once, in seattle, and ordering my burger confused the heck out of me! i tell you, washington and new jersey are two different planets. |

| i just think about how when it's over i'll get on the scale and see a drop in pounds...it's refreshing.
every single month, without fail, in the week before my period i bloat up like crazy, and i get so upset, thinking i'm gaining weight, not even making the connection to that time of the month. then i get my period, it ends and everything goes back to normal. i fall for this EVERY MONTH, then i realize it happened again and have a good laugh at myself. |

| Maintaining | Afraid to eat in front of people | Apr 12 2007 20:01 (UTC) |

| well, most of the time when they say "you don't need to eat that, you're so skinny" it makes me feel like pointing at their pizza/burger and fries/chips and saying "well, if I ate THAT every day, i wouldn't be skinny now would i?." so, i just think it to myself. hah.
don't get me wrong, i do eat pizza and burgers and pasta...but good lord, once or twice a week, not every day for lunch! one (very heavy) guy here drinks a slim fast meal replacement shake WITH his lunch...which is usually a sandwich, chips, some other side, and apples slathered in caramel!!!! he always has such a huge spread on the table when he has lunch, it looks like the last supper! ha ha ha... i feel like someone should tell him he could save 300 calories right there if he swapped it for a diet soda or water! people like that make me laugh and make me feel a lot better about my yogurt and fruit and whatnot. |

| Maintaining | Afraid to eat in front of people | Apr 12 2007 15:45 (UTC) |

| i don't feel embarrassed...but i hate hate hate when people stand over me and watch me eat, or scrutinize my food. and i've been driven to the point of eating my lunch at my desk at work instead of in the break room with everyone else because i feel like i'm being judged. people can't seem to grasp the concept that even though i'm already thin, i'm not eating garbage, or a huge amount of food. "oh, chicken and salad? oh, fat free? what are you, on a DIET?", in that condescending, sarcastic kind of way. as if we all work hard to lose weight, then just go back to eating junk! even then, when i'm sitting at my desk eating, it drives me crazy when people come over and ask me what i'm eating, or stand there and talk to me while i'm eating. its none of their business and it makes me uncomfortable!!!!! | |||

| do you FEEL healthy?
CC classifies me as underweight also, but i consider myself to be quite healthy...i am thin, but not frail or waif-like, i'm quite solid and have a bit of muscle. I also never get sick, and generally feel great. if you feel healthy, I wouldn't worry about it so much. |

| i didn't read much of the replies, so i don't know if this was mentioned, but you should be getting 1200 cals PLUS the 300-400 that you burn...so you should eat 1500-1600 calories per day for a net of 1200 cals. | |||

| i dont know if anyone mentioned these yet or not...but i hear the Splenda Flavor Blends are outrageous in oatmeal. theyre meant for coffee, little calorie-free flavor packets....if you scroll down to about the middle of this link, youll see them. i'm going to try them this week in my oatmeal, i think.
http://www.hungry-girl.com/news/newsdetails.p hp?isid=916 i put sugar free maple syrup in my oatmeal, 15 cals per 1/4 cup. mmmm. |

| Fitness | I was sick...When should I start working out again? | Apr 03 2007 19:04 (UTC) |
|
| not being able to work out sucks...i don't feel so bad if I decide not to...but when i can't even if i want to...argh. i got tattooed on saturday night, on my ankle, and apparently when you get a large piece on an extremity, you can develop a localized fever in the area...i literally have not been able to walk for 3 days and my ankle is huge. it's extremely frustrating. anyway, i got off track for a second...i'd probably give it another day, to make sure you have your strength back...or maybe do a mini-workout tomorrow. Don't push yourself until you're sure you are better! |
