I totally agree with you.  I was trying to do the smaller portions 5-6 times per day and just found that I was always eating but never really satisfied.  I hate eating breakfast and am fine not eating until 1 or 2pm.  I also started a thread here about how eating first thing is supposed to 'start' your metabolism.  That ended in a huge debate that led to the conclusion that exercising controls your metabolism NOT food.  So, instead of eating in the morn I have some coffee and take a short walk, which is just as good if not better (for me...do what works for you...no backlash please).  So, now I eat two larger meals per day.  Lunch around 1:30pm and then dinner around 7pm.  And I eat a snack if I feel like it.  I find that this way I am eating much less and am WAY more satisfied. 

I've also read quite a few things that state that portion control is more important in losing weight than exercise.  It doesn't have to be as hard as people make this.  Try all of the advice and then just do what works for you.

It was so brave of you to admit that you need to go back.  You can do this.  Just concentrate on loving yourself.  And then make sure you come back and tell us about how well you are doing.  You could be an inspiration for someone else.  Change your mind and you can change your life.  All of our strength comes from our mental abilities!

Thanks for posting this thread.  Now I can stop feeling guilty everytime I eat a baked potato!!  My favorite food by the way.  I think they're fine as long as you don't load them with butter, sour cream, salt, bacon bits and cheese!!  I usually just have them with Smart Balance 'butter' and a bit of salt & pepper.  And I always eat the skin!!  That's where the good fiber is.

I haven't used either, but was talking to a girl at a bar a while back who said she and her friend tried Alli and if they ate even a bit of fat they would be running to the bathroom.  She said you lose weight but you might as well start wearing diapers or get used to having 'stains' in your undies / pants.  Yuck!  NOT worth it.  Anything that helps to get the weight off fast just means you're going to put it back on faster, plus some, when you stop taking it.

I've tried lots of stuff in the past...except eating better and exercising regularly.  I am now doing those things and that's enough.  I'd say forget the pills and change your lifestyle.

There are alot of men who like stretch marks!!  My husband is one of them.  I think most people have them, men and women.  Don't pay them any attention.  Wear your bikini with pride and people will have no choice but to respect you.  Wear it in shame and you'll only be hurting yourself.

I just got the video due to all the response in this forum.  It KICKED MY BUTT!!!  But in a good way.  I don't even want to look at level 2 yet.  I'm going to try to do level 1 for 10 days, level 2 for 10 days and maybe level 3 for 10 days.

My thigh muscles are killing me today though so I don't know how many days I can keep this up.  But I'm going to give it my all.  I did think I was going to DIE while doing this workout and had to stop and get water.  You're not supposed to I know, but man!!  Also, I was breathing harder than I remember ever breathing in life. 

This is a great workout.  Jillian is the ****!

Thanks for the post A-yoyo.  I've been having the same problem.  You are not alone!!!!  Before starting CC I was pretty regular.  I think it's the amounts of good stuff we're now eating that is harder for our systems to digest which makes us...well backed up a bit.  Hopefully the great suggestions here will help!!  If you find anything specific that works better than the other let me know.  Embarassed

Does anyone have a pic of them selves around 175 pounds that they wouldn't mind sharing.  (med-large frame).  I haven't been that weight in so long I have no idea what that looks like, but that's my current goal at this time.  Please share!  Thanks.

Well I'm not so great at math.  And am constantly wondering if I got the stats right on CC.  Between BMR and Typical Burn I wonder if I'm eating the right amount of calories per day.  Think math may have something to do with it.  If you're not as comfortable with numbers I think that there may be some correlation with your theory.

Another bright side!  You could have just gained muscle!  Maybe you should try to measure yourself instead of going by the scale.  If your clothes aren't getting tighter then you probably should just give it some time.  Sounds like you're doing a good job.

You also might like to try Crystal Light.  It tastes great and only has 5 calories per serving.  Lots of different flavor options too.  And you can buy the "On the go" packets and just mix them with bottled water and have something that will hydrate you and taste good.  I'm drinking it now!

I know exactly what you means.  That happens to me too.  It's not any muscles twitching it feels like little popping under the skin, like you said, it feels like the fat is burning off.  I like to think that's what it is.  It is a very satisfying feeling so I'd say just go with it.  I know I do.

Thanks for your advice.  You all have been very helpful.  Lost my first 5 pounds and am excited to keep this up.  Can't wait until it's warm so I can get back to walking outdoors!  (I'm in Minnesota and Spring is taking it's sweet time).

I'm really not a picky eater...and maybe that's the problem.  The only thing I don't like is fish.  (unless it's canned Tuna)  It's more about the portions than the kinds of foods.  I  could start out eating something well balanced and eat until I'm not hungry...but then want to keep eating until I'm stuffed.  Putting down the fork is the hard thing.
