I used to drink NOTHING but sweet tea, cokes, and coffee with tons of half & half and sugar.  At first I tried to just cut down but it didn't work. When I decided to diet for real I stopped drinking them COMPLETELY and drank only water and coffee with fat free half & half with splenda. I know it's hard but guess what? I lost 5 lbs the first week! I was amazed how much of an impact sweet drinks had on my weight. Hang in there and good luck. It's no coincidence that diet and do it sound so much alike!Wink

Thanks for the  info, y'all! It has been very helpful. It's also kept me from feeling guilty for eating watermelon and cantaloupe at midnight! I have insomnia and am never in bed before 2am and sometimes even later. It was driving me crazy! I figured that "normal" people went to bed around 10pm so I should not eat within 4 hours of going to bed. Even that was a challenge so I turned to y'all for advice and once again you came through for me!Smile

I think Nell's right. I was actually sick last week. Nausea kept me from eating for 24 hours. The next day I pigged out. When I weighed myself on the third day - I had lost 1.9 pounds. This is not a healthy way to do it but I truly believe that having high calorie days causes you to burn the calories faster. (I wouldn't suggest having more than 1 per week)

PS. I hope you REALLY enjoy that burger and fries. After all, we will be living vicariously through you today!Wink

There are soooo many trains of thought on this issue. It makes me realize that diets are like medications- they effect everyone differently. I only know what's working for me - this week anyway!Undecided Whatever you do DON'T GIVE UP! If you ever wanna chat, send me a message. I'm on here all the time to input my food.

I agree with shuying. Have you filled out your account settings on this site yet? Once you do, it will tell you how many calories to eat per day. At first, I thought putting in ever single thing I ate would be a pain. Actually, I've come to look at it like playing an on-line game. And I was amazed how much more I was eating than I thought. I figured since I was eating low-fat and sugar-free stuff that I was doing good but after adding it all up-yikes. Finally, I eat about 3oo fewer calories than site recommends per day and then once a week I eat the recommended amount. This keeps your metabolism from getting into a pattern. hang in there. It will happen!Smile
