Motivation And the trend line went back up.... Apr 24 2009
15:45 (UTC)

My trend line had been going down pretty steeply, both cos I was working out quite a bit and eating very close to my goal intake (usually I go over by 300-400 cals, when the goal deficit is 500-700 cals).

After not feeling like eating for more than a week, yesterday was a binge day. I couldn't fill my stomach up! Boy, did I eatLaughing... skim milk, boca chilli, apple, fruit yogurt, Thin Mints cookies (can't resist them), chicken curry, pita, cereal (dry, out of the box!) and some Godiva dark chocolates, all in one day!

But thankfully, today I'm back to normal, and not thinking about food too much. So it happens. The scale did show 1 lb gain today, but I know what I did, and I'm more motivated not to do it again. So if you fell off the wagon, get up, pat your knees, and get going. We are here to cheer you on!

Health & Support Foods to calm down a queasy stomach... Apr 14 2009

Thank you all for your messages. So clear liquids and fruits and veggies seem to be the answer.

gi-jane - it's not so much a time issue (it is to some extent) as it is the stress level. My gramps has been hospitalized for a week, so apart from the mere tension of that, it requires time to tend to him and visit him. Sometimes, my brain just refuses to turn off and let me go to sleep, and that's what's been happening since Sunday night. I would lay in bed and toss and turn, feel my muscles tighten and be unable to fall asleep. My stomach also gets queasy when I'm tensed, and yesterday at work, it was rumbling horribly!

Weight Loss Why am I gaining? Apr 07 2009

I'm in the same boat as you. My latest journal entry is actually just about that. I have been working out since Feb 16 - I started out with low-intensity workouts and have upped the intensity for the past 3 weeks. The weight has been almost a roller-coaster ride, with 141 being my lowest, and going up as high as 146 (I started logging again at 144 - have been on this site since back when I was 156).

Don't get discouraged, it takes the body a while to get used to all these changes. I noticed that it takes my body 3 days to show any changes, both up and down. So if I eat a lot on weekends (which I do, always, they are my killers!), I don't see the gain on Monday or even Tuesday, rather on Wednesday. However, since I'm trying really hard to stick to working out and being active throughout the week, and generally tend to eat healthier during the work week, I see the drop by Friday or Saturday.

So, stick it out, it will take a while, but it will happen. For me, I've lost 2 inches from my bust and waist, and one inch around my hips. That's more important right now than weight, which keeps fluctuating based on what day of the week or time of the month it is.

Wednesday, April 1 was my rest day for my workout routine, so I didn't get anything there. Yesterday, back to gym, 3.6 miles

April = 3.6/75

Go everyone, go!

I've been having a similar week, but I am blaming the weather (I'm in MN where it was in the 60s two weeks ago, but been in the 30s since then, with snow since yestrdayFrown) and a lot of company since my mom returned from her trip last week.

The scale has been unkind to me as a result, however I'm keeping up with the work out (every little bit helps) and today's the first day in more than a week that I'm consciously trying to limit my calories to stay under my daily allowance. So, I'd suggest, you pick up with your work out (if you were doing that). It makes you feel great, and somehow makes you more vigilant about what you eat. Then get back on track.

Best of luckSmile

Congratulations!! I'm soooo happy for you. Boy, have you come a long way, and hopefully, someday I'll also have come this far along.

I do that sucking the belly in trick too, but I'm not too mindful of it all the time. Hearing it from you though, will keep it in my forefront. Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, I'd like to know what skind problems did you have and how were using the flax seed (just snacking on it?) I've chronic acne, and though working out helps clear my skin, I'd definitely like to learn more about clearing my skin and keeping it healthy.

Once again, Hurrray for you:)

Hello everyone,

Though I'd signed up on this site last year, I'd fallen off the wagon (like has happened so many times before). I had set a goal for myself last year, to lose weight before my wedding in June 2008. When my fiancee called off the wedding, you can imagine, I lost interest in quite a few things, among them a healthy lifestyle. However, I was so depressed and in such a bad shape, I lost 11 lbs in two months, and saw my weight in 130s after a longggggggggggg time.

However, once I got over the depression, things started returning to the usual, and I have fluctuated between 140 and 143 lbs since last August. In this new year, re-energized by all the people taking cotrol of their lives, I have started again.

I wish everyone health and success. I cheer for jones29550, kudos to you for juggling so many things at once - a kid, a career, school, family life, wow! I'm just about to start my MBA, and am already dreading what my life is going to look like with full-time work and grad school. I will look forward to you for courage and the can-do attitude.
