Same thing happened to me. Consider going on a low-dose birth control pill. That restarted them for me three years ago and they've been regular since. |

I, too, am 5'4" and my lowest ED weight was 103. What you should do is add your calories back into your diet slowly. Your body will adjust better to the number of calories you're eating daily if you add about 50 calories/day per week. Then your body won't be all, "OMG! FOOD!" and store it all. And you can be healthy, don't worry about that. Even though one never truly recovers from an ED, now that I'm past that stage in my life I realize that I look my best at about 120. Plus, you can eat more of the healthy food. :D Example: I love carrots. Adore them. They have few calories and it's easy to add more into your diet. Good luck, dear. |

I always remember that being thin will make me happy for a long time while binging (sp?) will make me feel guilty for a long time. Or, to put it differently, being skinny will make me happier than this cookie/pizza/whatever ever could. |

I tried some of their jelly a while ago and had to throw away almost the entire jar. I had it on toast and had to throw away 2/3 of my toast. It was AWFUL. This was even before I gave up artificial sweeteners. Don't waste your money on any of that stuff. Real fruit has some calories, as do real peanuts, real milk, etc. Don't fall for their gimmick. |

| Weight Loss | Eating too little?? | May 23 2008 20:44 (UTC) |

You seem to be doing everything right, with the exercise and 1600 cal/day. 10 pounds in 2 weeks is a LOT of weight to lose at once, so you might plateau for a while. Stick it out and see if you lose more in the next few weeks. If nothing happens, try reducing your calories to 1400/day. |

Oh, flygirl, you could be writing my story. I'm 5'4" and, about three years ago, went from 105 to 130 in about four months. Before that I was eating about 900 calories per day. I didn't know the weight gain was because I was eating reasonably, though! I thought it was because I went on the Pill! (Wow. New insight. Thanks!)
P.S. I agree with jennmary. Find a counselor. |

| Foods | Are you sensitive to sugar free foods? | Apr 12 2008 00:38 (UTC) |

I suppose I'd call myself 'sensitive' to sugar-free foods, but it's probably because I avoid them at all costs (which makes dieting really hard for me and my sweet tooth!). I agree with the statement that artificial sweeteners are bad for you and do more harm than good. I read on MSN Health a while ago that aspartame can actually prevent your body from converting fat into usable energy. I lost several pounds when I cut out diet sodas, which actually meant all sodas. Personally, I also consider high-fructose corn syrup to be an artificial sweetener since you'll never find that particular molecular configuration in nature and it has to be processed.
As for side effects, the only one I know of for the sugar alcohols is loose stools if you consume vast (and I mean massive) quantities. |

I weighed about 140 and got it right after 7th grade but then didn't get it for a year and a half between 9th and 10th because my weight was below 115. Once I went on the Pill to get me started again and gained enough weight to get above 115, it started again. |

The same thing happened to me! I did a report on that last semester because I wanted to know why it happens. For the most part, people will tell you that weight gain associated with the Pill is due to water retention due to the extra estrogen and because of increased appetite (the Pill suppresses glucose, so the body wants more, yadda, yadda, yadda). I was on the swim team when I took them, so I was swimming laps about two hours a day, and still gained a pound a week of fat. The only thing I could do to make it stop was to stop the Pill. It was awful and I'm only now getting back to my pre-Pill weight. As I understand it, weight gain is a pretty common side effect and it should level off at some point, but you can't really do a whole lot about it. |
