If your not used to drinking much water all of a sudden drinking 2L a day might be a bit much and you'll be peeing all the time! But go for it i thinkit's great. I have trouble to so if i keep a water bottle in front of me at wotk i'm more likley to drink if i'm looking at it all the time. I also add low KJ cordial to my water as i have stomach and water can make me feel sick. It's great only 17 KJ per serve.

You can also try adding a slice of lemon for some flavour. If you set your self little goal that might help too. Like "i should finish this bottle of water by 10am" that way you can spread them out over the day and not feel the need so scull 3 bottles at the end of the day.

Good luck, let me know hoe you go.

Becarful of craving they are ofter your body telling you, you need something (other than to eat McDonalds) Have a look at your diet over the last few days and see if you are low in any nutrient. you might just be able to stave off the craving with out eating crap.

Keep strong.

I have to becarful doing that because often the exercise doesn't  quite burn the calories you ate.

Try rwiting a journal instead. i have half my daliy calories in 2 foods. I felt better after writing it and it a good reminger not to do it again. i don't tend to look at my food grade. So on days you do eat bad, just log your food and exercise and don't look at your grade.

good luck.

You need to eat more! when you don't eat enough your body goes in to starvation mode and holds on to every thing you give it because it doesn't know when it will be fed again. The weight you loose in the first week or so is usually water weight or fluid retention.

It also sounds like you used to be pritty fit and muscular and when you stop exercising all the mucle can turn to fat, it's going to take time and work to get back into shape.

The sit ups are good but keep up the cardio as well, make sure you have a program that covers all the bases.

Good luck, let us know how you go.

why don't you exercise with him?

my b/f is great he loves me so much as i am but love the thought of me bing a bit smaller. in fact that's all he has asked for for christmas. and i reality it has nothing to do with whether i get down to the weight he just wan't me to think i can be MORE beautiful and that i'm happy and proud after i exercise and eat good food. Make it into something fun and you can enjoy the progress together. use him to bulid your confidence, try and ingnor they way you feel and hang on to the little comments like 'oh your bottom feels smaller today!'

Good luck i'm sure you'll get there.

Weight Loss Will one week of no exercise ruin things for me??????????? Apr 23 2008
05:43 (UTC)

i'm not sure what kind of exercise you were doing before but you should be fine as long as you just don't sit on the couch. you would be surprised how much weight you can loose just by counting calories and walking!

On the Australian biggest looser there was a guy with a heart condition who wasn't alowd to get his heard rate above a sertain number so the only exercise he could do was walking. one week he lost 12 Kg!

you'll be fine just don't let it phase you.

Foods Lunch Ideas for a VERY Hungry Man!! Apr 23 2008

i have a very hungry man to make lunch for too but i love the wide neck thurmos espically in winter whe you don't really feel like a salad. he could take baked beans or a thick soup and have with a whole grin roll or harty tew with mead and loads of vegies.

And try more protein for breakfast rather than just more food as it kick starts your matabilism and can make you more hungry till you get used to it.

good luck :)

I know what you mean, it's just like the pringles add.

Once you pop you can't stop!

I take some celery to work for my 10:30 snak and i've started haveing a cup of soup mid afternoon. It fills me up and increases my water intake, which always drops off in the avo. But one of my big problems is 8:30-9am. i get up quite early and walk to the station to catch the train to work. So by the time i get to the office i'm ready for second beakfast but i'm working on it.

I've also started doing 10min on the exercise bike and 10min of sit up's, squats, push up's ect in the morning and nights i don't go to the gym. It's great as my boyfriend works out at the same time and he encourages me and can get me to work harder.

Keep up the good work.

I just noticed the post about Horse and the main reason they didn't eat them is because they are usefull.

You can't ride a pig. You can use a cow to pull stuff but i think horses have better fitness or something and can pull wagons and carts for longer.

Hi,

i was just looking through soem the links in one of the posts and i can across something i totaly forgot about.

Protein combining. http://www.weightlossforall.com/protein%20com binations.htm

Not all foods contain all amino acids, so by combining different foods you can create a complete protein. i know when i've been trying to increase my protein i keep thinking of individual foods but i'm going to get onto this. i have a feeling it's going to make this a lot easier.

Kepp up the good work!

Hi,

not only am i a type 1 diabetic but i am also a pumper. go us.

hit me with your q's and i'll see what i can do.

Exercise is gret for high sugars, you may not feel like going for a walk or something (i tend to get tired when i'm high) but you feel heaps better after.

as for cutting down carbs that's something our whole society should think about. it's not a bad idea as they are the main reason for increased BGL. how do you go with counting cardb? i know i can never be bothered counting carbs and calories.

better get back to work.

Health & Support Diabetes type 1 and Weight Loss ? Apr 08 2008
04:21 (UTC)

Hi,

i am also 21 and have had type 1 diabetes since i was 15. i guess you could say i'm a bad diabetic but i'm trying more now. 15's a hard age to have to change a major social part of your life, i also don't think i was very well educated at the time. i have never talked to anyone else with diabetes about it except my educator and specialist, so you are the very first.

i have never had very good controll and have now been on an insulin pump for the last 2 years i think, it's helping but i still need better controll.

Exercise is great as it lowers my BGL and means i don't need as much insulin but i can be hard finding the right balance so you don't hypo.

it tend to take less or no insulin so i don't hypo but i am also very carful as i have had ketoacidosis from high sugars for a prolonged period and it's not good.

i know what you mean about the tummy. i have a section of scar tissue a palms width in leagth on either side of my belly button from injecting in the same area for to long. i didn't know how mush i need to vary the injecting site when i first started. so it makes me look like i have a fat tummy but i can't get rid of it.

i also know what you mean about hypos messing with your diet. i can't just have 6 jelly beans and waite i can't stand the feeling of being out of control, so i tend to eat through my hypos. a perfect example is last night when i got hame from they gym. i had some jelly beans, a banana, some biscuts and i'm sure there was something else.

i'm going to stop now becasue i feel like i'm rambling but the one thing i will say to all diabetics is. EXERCISE.

caio.
