Fayny – whoa … how do you manage to drink over a gallon of water a day? Do you drink any other types of drinks in addition to the water?

Reddy – you’re in a frickin’ 16? WoW! When I read that I had to rush over to your page, and I was like whoa she looks awesome.  How tall are you? You carry your weight extremely well.  Congrats on the pregnancy!

Booster – I know I’m super later but I still wanted to give you a hug (((HUGS))).

Liza – you’re so cute, and I can totally see a difference …. Sorry about your bunny :-(

Danielle – congrats on being selected for that Biggest Loser Program … I know you’ll do great!

Dalma – Whoa …. Congrats on seeing 235.8.  You’re doing so great!!!

Booster – (if you can take it there a little longer) …. do you think that it would be a little better if you put in a two week notice on Friday instead of quitting?  That way you’ll not only be able to leave the company on good terms, but you’ll also be able to receive another check in two weeks … just a thought.

Sweepie – (((HUGS))) .. don’t be bummed … do you think that there could be something wrong with the scale you brought? Have you tried weighing yourself anywhere else? OR if your SO knows his weight you should get him to weigh himself just so that you can test the scale to be sure its working properly.

Queen – I’ve totally been there before … as a matter of fact at 250 lbs I still feel like that, because 250 lbs is still heavier that what I’m use to. In 2006 I went all the way down to 203 lbs, and then I guess I got too comfortable at that weight so I just started to slip back into unhealthy habits, and before you know it I had gained back all the weight I lost plus a ton more on top of that.  2007 was so bad because it was like I knew I had weight to lose, but I just didn’t do anything about it.  It wasn’t until earlier this year that I decided that instead of continuing to buy bigger and bigger clothes that I was gonna start shrinking back into my old clothes, and getting my body back in shape, and my life together again ... right now I’m working on this entire going out thing, etc. because its like whenever anyone asks me out whether its my bf, friends, etc. I always find an excuse as to why I can’t go, because I still don’t feel comfortable enough to do stuff like that yet.

So I just went back thru my journal and I realized that from March 31, 2008 - July 16, 2008 (less than four months) I went from 290 lbs to 250 lbs. 

A normal person would see that loss and think whoa if I lost that much weight that fast I should just continue eating healthy, drinking my water, exercising, etc. so that I can be well under 200 lbs by the end of the year.  Well I did the complete opposite ... I started back drinking sodas (and other sugary calorie filled juices, and stopped drinking water), started back eating fast food, and junk food, BUT I continued to exercise. 

I think that continuing to exercise is what saved me, because I'm still at 250 lbs (thank goodness). Now its August 28, 2008 and I'm finally ready to rededicate myself to eating healthy, exercising, drinking my water, and getting back into all the healthy habits I followed just a month ago.

So now my weightloss goal for September 30, 2008 is going to be to get down to between 235 - 240.  To be honest I actually think I can get down to 200 lbs by the end of the year, but I'm setting my year end goal to 210 lbs just so that I don’t put too much stress on my body (by trying to lose 50 lbs in 4 months).

Ok .. ok .. ok .... so a lot has been going on, and it seems that everytime I say I'm going to try to keep up with everything that’s going on, on this forum ... I always end up not only not keeping up, but getting wwwaaayyy behind.

This month is not going good at all.  First things first I'm still at 250 lbs, but I know that its not a plateau or anything like that ... I know that its because I haven’t been working out like I'm suppose to (I've only worked out for a total of 240 minutes for this entire month ... yeah that’s pretty sad) nor have I been drinking the amount of water I'm suppose to drink or eating right ... I plan to kick things back up into full gear.  I'm pretty sure that when I kick things back up then I'll be able to lose at least another 40 lbs before this year ends.

I currently don’t have any transportation, because some guy hit my car while it was parked.  If you look at my car, it doesn’t look like it was hit (upon first inspection), but after you really look at it you can notice that the back axle is bent in pretty bad, and the car basically can’t drive at all.  On top of that …. the guys insurance company is taking a long time to process the **** so I’ve been without my car for going on a week and a half.  I’ve finally decided that I’m just going to go thru my insurance company, and let them sort out all the mess later.

The only somewhat good thing that happened as a result of the accident was that I was able to meet this really cute officer.  Well it’s kind of good and bad at the same time.  It WAS good because he was really sweet, and wanted to hang out a lot, but it was bad because he made it known that he wanted to be more than friends (even though he saw that I had a bf, because my bf was at the scene of the accident with me).  Needless to say he and I aren’t speaking anymore (so that’s bad), but it was still a good experience.

In addition to not having a car … I’m also looking for a job.  So yeah that makes it worst, because I completely missed one job interview, and I got to the other interview just in time (without anytime to spare).  I hope that everything starts looking better this week, and that my insurance company can get me into a rental asap so that I can start doing some serious job hunting.

Okay this is seriously my last post for the night, because I'm super tired, and I have to be to work at 9am.  So I just wanna say congrats to the Black Team for being the Biggest Losers this week .... yay Black Team! I'll post the numbers, and the individual biggest loser tomorrow.  Goodnight, and I hope you all have a great day tomorrow!

I dont know how many of you watch B. Scott on YouTube but "Double Kisses" .. Wink .. LOL!

ETA: Great blog Dalma .. I know you'll make a great writer, because everything you write always has me either sitting on edge or wanting more.  In the case of your blog you've left me wanting more.  I cant wait to read your next entry.

Sorry for the super long post I just posted  …. LOL … that’s what happens when you don’t visit the forum as often as you should, and you end up having to read a bunch of pages to catch up.

Didn’t you ladies say that Old Navy makes their clothes bigger than what they really are? I’m asking this because today I wore some of my old, Old Navy 18s and they fit perfectly.  I’m also able to fit some of my Old Navy 16s .. I’m able to put them on, and zip/button them up (but I wouldn’t wear them anywhere yet, because they still look and feel too tight).  I’m asking the question about Old Navy clothes being bigger because I think its sort of crazy that I can fit a size 16 at 250 lbs.

So first things first …… I’m clearly not gonna make my exercise goal for this month.  What I have done so far is 21.17 of 34.  The main reason I didn’t / couldn’t make goal this month is because my shins started hurting soooooo bad to the point that I wasn’t able to even walk.  So I gave myself a few days off.  I started back today with a strong hour on the track, and everything went well.  I’m going to continue working out for the rest of the week, but I’m just gonna take it a little easy. 

Ally – Thanks for always being so encouraging! You rock!!! … I know I’m super late, but why doesn’t your BF visit you sometimes? At least if he goes to your house it’ll be a little better for you, because he can actually head to your house while you’re at the gym.  When he finally makes it to your house you’ll probably already be out the shower and the two of you will be able to spend a ton of time together and you’ll be able to get your workouts in.  If he likes working out too then he could go to your house a little earlier (before your workouts), he could do a workout with you, and then go to your house, and shower, and the two of you could still end up spending a bunch of time together.  As far as the friends thing goes idk what to say about that, because I myself still have a hard time (after being in a relationship for 4 ½ years) balancing hanging with my friends, and hanging with my BF.  How is the no smoking thing going?

Ana – I cant wait until my breast start shrinking … after I gained this extra weight they got too big (for me) … my breast aren’t super huge, but they are just something I’m not used to.  I guess you can say I’m not really a breast person.

Dalma – LOL … I thought I was the only person that did that.  Whenever I hear someone say their weight OR I read a weight in a magazine (or even in this forum) .. I’m always like .. I cant wait until I get to that weight.  LOL.  That’s funny! … Congrats on your loss!

Hey Watchme … yay for 254.8 … I’m so happy for you.  Keep up the awesome work!

Mladdy you’re a cutie pie! Great pics! …. I haven’t really thought about looking fat or people being able to tell I was ever fat when I get to my goal weight.  I haven’t even thought about sagging skin or anything like that.  For some reason I just don’t think I’ll have any sagging skin nor do I think I’ll look like a small fat person (lol).

Alice great job with the C25K Program, I’m thinking about starting it in August, but I’m still undecided

Ally – you took the words right out of my mouth regarding the Labor Day Challenge.  I was gonna suggest that we start a Labor Day Challenge on August 1.  From the thought I was having I was thinking that everyone who participates in the challenge should do 2 journal entries (if they want).  One before the challenge just discussing their start weight, start inches, and the goals they want to accomplish during the Labor Day Challenge (ex. Lose ___ amt. of lbs, lose ____ amt. of inches, workout ___ # of hours, drink ___ cups of water daily, etc.).  For the challenge I was also thinking that everyone could post a start photo on their page and then an end of challenge photo on or around Labor Day on their page (this of course is something that would be optional).  Basically the challenge won’t be a competition against anyone, but yourself, because you’ll basically be challenging yourself to achieve all the goals that you’ve set for the challenge.

July Workout Challenge: 17.5 of 34 ..... I've been totally slacking on my workouts this month so I have 16.5 hours of workout to complete in 8 days.  Its totally doable.  I guess I'll be doing 2.5 hrs tomorrow, and 2 hrs for each of the remanding 7 days of the month.

Dalma: I've taken you out of the challenge.  Good luck with getting past your plateau.

Before I discuss the Biggest Loser results let me explain what I have been doing.  If someone doesnt weigh-in, in time then I'll use their weight from last weigh-in for the current weigh-in.  Also if there is anyone who decides to leave the challenge I'll just take your weight from the last week you participated in the challenge, and use it for the remainder of the challenge (I hope that makes sense).

Congrats to the Red Team for being the Biggest Losers this week.  Congrats to Red Team's unlimitedana for being the individual Biggest Loser this week.  Keep up the good work everyone!

eeyvdj - The Biggest Loser Challenge ends on August 2nd, but if there are enough people interested then as soon as the Biggest Loser Challenge is over I’d like for us to jump straight into a Labor Day Challenge.  There is also a workout challenge going on right now.  You just decide how many hours you’re going to workout this month, and then you keep track of those hours.

BLC Week 3: For week 3, I'd like all the Biggest Loser participants to drink 320 oz. of water (thats 64 oz. of water a day for Tues - Sat.), and workout for 2.5 hrs for the week.  The team that has all its team members post their weight for the week, the amount of water they drink, and how much they workout by Saturday will have 2 lbs added to their weightloss for the week. Here's an example of how I would like you to post your results for the week:

Weight: ??? / Water: 320 oz. / Workout: 2.5

watchme: that sounds like a good idea, but that would = more work for me, and I'm too lazy for that ... LOL (thats so sad).

The challenge isnt going to start all over again, BUT I would like for Sonini & bzb90031 to give me your SW (how much you weighed on June 29th), the 1st week's weight (how much you weighed on July 5), and the 2nd week's weight (how much you weighed on July 12).  That will catch you up, and make my life a lot easier.

Okay here's the deal.  Additional people have been showing interest in the Biggest Loser Challenge so I actually wanted to start the challenge completely over.  The reason I want to start the challenge over is because I dont want to turn anyone away from joining the challenge, but I also dont want to have people joining the challenge late, or in the middle, etc. because if more and more people keep joining the challenge late its going to make it hard for me to determine whose the overall biggest loser.  I dont know if everyone will agree with starting over, but I'm open for suggestions.  I’m going to keep the teams the same, etc. I just want to start week one from yesterday, and continue forward from there.  This is what I have right now:

Dalma: I absolutely loved that story.  It ALMOST makes me want to go to a few stores, and try on some clothes, but I’m not even going to do that to myself right now especially since I told myself that I wasn’t going to buy anything new until I can fit back into some of my old clothes.  I think when I lose about 13 more lbs (bringing me down to 240 lbs) I’ll be able to fit a few of my old clothes.

watchme: shake the haters off.  You are doing great, and as long as you feel good about yourself, and you know what you’re accomplishing, you don’t need confirmation from anyone else.  It’s just like me ever since I started this weightloss journey / lifestyle change (on March 31, 2008) I’ve lost 37 lbs.  I’m happy with that lose although I KNOW it could be more.  No one has really told me oh you look like you’re losing weight or anything like that, but I know that the scale is going down, my body is starting to look better, and I feel a hell of a lot better so whether people notice or not I could careless as long as I see improvements in myself.

Michelle: you didn’t seem whiny … at least that’s not how I took it.  I took it as you just asking a question.

Boots: Wow you’re on week 7?!!! That’s awesome!  

So I don’t consider myself a loner, but when it comes to working out I REALLY don’t like having workout partners.  What I’ve noticed from the workout partners I’ve had in the past is that they either talk too much, try to push me too hard, or they want me to slow down my pace so they can keep up with me.  This is why I try to at all cost avoid having workout buddies.  So at first my neighbor wanted to start working out with me, but I know she talks too much so I use to just go to the park during times that I know she wont be able to go so that she doesn’t ask to go with me.  Yesterday she saw me going to the park, but I guess she’s lost interest in working out (or she has realized that I don’t want her going with me) whatever the reason she didn’t ask to go with me and I was happy about that.

So I’m thinking YEAH I’ve got her off my back now I can listen to my music and workout in peace.  Well oh boy was I wrong. ... there is a lady that’s usually on the track when I go out there,  I see her almost every night, but I don’t speak to her.  I just do my workout (while listening to my music), and then I go about my business.  So a few nights ago she asked me “how many miles do I walk/jog when I workout”.  I told her I don’t really know, because I don’t workout for miles, but I workout for time.  She was like oh okay.   So I thought that was the end of that …. Guess again!

Last night she saw me working out on the park (WITH MY HEADSET ON!), and she kept waving at me to get my attention so I would turn off the music.  When I turned off the music she talked to me for like 30 minutes straight.  She was asking me questions about my workout, mainly because she sees me jogging, and sprinting a lot and she wants to know how am I able to do that.  The only way I was able to prevent her from talking to me for an extra long time was for me to start jogging …. I was like okay well I’m going to start jogging now so I’ll see you another time.  This REALLY sucks! When I workout I just want it to be me and Lil Wayne, Marvin Sapp, Trina, Kanye West, Usher or whoever else I’m listening to at the time.  I don’t want it to be me, and someone whose gonna talk me to death. 

Oh and she asked me to guess her weight and I was like oh you look like you weigh about 170 lbs, and she was like “no I weigh 200 lbs”.  I said you don’t look like you weigh that much at all.  Do you know what that slut said to me …. oh the reason you look your weight, and I don’t look my weight is because you’re short …. Lawd have mercy …. I was thinking first of all why are you talking to me to begin with, and second of all you don’t even know how much I weigh so how can you tell me I look my weight … dumb slut.

Okay I’m done venting about that, but I REALLY hate having workout buddies (well at least the ones that talk to much or feel like they have to workout with you).  If I had a workout buddy who goes to the park with me, and they do their own thing then that’s cool, but I hate the ones that … you know what I’m really done with that.

Michelle: you are still included in the challenge.  This is what I was thinking.  If no one else wants to join then I'll just add you, Enna & Fing to the existing teams.  If two more ppl join then I'll create an additional team, and if an uneven amount of ppl join then I'll leave you as "at home" challengers.  No matter how it goes you are all still apart of the challenge.

Dalma: I hope you get well soon …… yeah you just basically have to weigh in by Saturday.  There will be a few additional challenges along the way, but this week I just want to get the teams together, get my nerdy excel spread sheet together, and get everyone thru the first weigh in successfully. 

Watchme: Congrats on getting down to 257 lbs. (yay you!) ... Right now I’m a 37 in the waist and a 51 in the hips, and I can fit a size 20 pants comfortably.  As a matter of fact they are big at the waist and a little baggy at the hips … unless this company (Ashley Stewart) makes their clothes bigger than what they are suppose to be.  The other day I wore my size 18 Old Navy pants, but they were tight in the thigh area so I know I have to lose a few more inches before I can wear those comfortably.

Okay so here is whats going on.  I've added a new category to the BLC.  Its the Biggest Loser @ home group.  That group is open for anyone who wants to jump into the challenge right now.  I will not be adding anyone to the actual red, blue, or black teams, because the deadline for that has already came and gone, BUT .....

anyone who wants to be apart of the challenge can let me know, and I'll add them to the Biggest Loser @ home group.  The deadline for participants to be added to this group is Saturday @ 5:00pm.  After Sat. I WONT be able to add anyone else, because we will already have the first week's weigh-in.  So if there is anyone interested in joining the challenge please let me know ASAP! Thanks.

All BLC participants: make sure you all drink at least 64 oz. of water per day.  that wont matter much this week, but it will be VERY important after the first weigh-in.

Bootser1 – LOL @ voting ppl off.  I don’t think we should do this (at least not this time around).  If there is someone who is losing a lot of weight, and their team isn’t losing as much weight they still can end up being the biggest loser if they are the overall biggest loser consistently. 

miabel – I think we are doing the Biggest Loser Challenge in addition to the July workout challenge (not instead of it).  At least I hope we’re having a July workout challenge, because last month was great.  I set a goal for 1800 mins (30 hours), and I made goal so that was cool.  That challenge was some serious motivation, and all 30 of my hours are actual hours that I spend doing cardio on the track.  So that made me feel awesome.

boots – I like your idea about a cheat meal instead of a cheat day.

I've already divided everyone into teams.  I basically wrote everyones name down on a piece of paper.  The first set of names I pulled made up the red team, the second group of names I pulled made up the blue team, and the remanding names made up the black team.  I cant calculate any of the teams starting weights yet, because all three teams have a member who hasnt weighed in yet.  Once everyone weighs in I'll calculate the teams starting weight, and we can begin the challenge from there.  Although the challenge officially closed yesterday ... if there is anyone who still wants to join please let me know, because it would be cool to have one more person to add to the black team so that all the teams could have the same amount of participants.

Biggest Loser Challenge Details

Since there are quite a few of us who will be participating in the Biggest Loser Challenge I’ve decided to add an additional team to this challenge (the Black Team).  Everyone who indicated that they would like to participate in the Biggest Loser Challenge will be divided into three teams (Red Team, Blue Team & Black Team).  Everyone will know what team they are on after 10:01pm on Saturday, June 28.  In order to make sure the teams are selected as fairly as possible I will put everyone’s name in a cup (including my own) and the first group of names I pull out will be on one team, the second group of names will be on the second team, and the third group of names will be on the last team. 

The members of each team will have until Saturday (at 5:00pm) of each week to post their weight.  At the end of the week I will calculate the weight of the three teams, and let everyone know which team had the biggest weight loss.  I will also let everyone know who the biggest loser of the week is.  If a member of any team fails to weigh in before the cut off time I will just use their weight from the previous week to calculate the team’s total.  There may be a few challenges thrown in to each week, just to add a little variety to the overall challenge (for example, during one of the challenges I might post that the team who has all its members complete 2 hours of exercise (the fastest) wins a free lb to add to their overall weightloss percentage (for the week)).
