Hi. I hope everyone had a better week than I did. No gain, but I was very bad. With 2 birthdays, and by the end of the week, due to lack of fruits and vegetables I gave in to the fast food, and I made a sensible choice, but then we had *gasp* Chinese buffet, and then yesterday... I had to go to my parents because my hubby was messing with the electricals and it was my dads birthday too. They celebrated with the fried seafood. I gorged. I am ashamed. This is all after I got my new pair of size 14 fitted jeans because my 16s looked terribly sloppy and were falling off of me. But the fridge and pantry are stocked and plan on getting back on the wagon. And wow GJ mortalmonkey. |

I got an elliptical that I am trying to use for 30 mins a day. And I am trying to work in pushups, sit ups, lunges, and streching but I allways feel silly doing that stuff so I give up pretty easy. I've thought about bootcamp work outs and it seems too scary. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | My 22 month old refuses to eat | Apr 11 2008 16:18 (UTC) |

Is this when you have sit down meals? Have you tried just setting some fingerfoods, somewhere and see if he will eat it if you don't pay too much attention? My son didn't want to eat for a while because we were making to much of a deal if he was eating or not. So we would set his food on the coffee table and turn away, and hes back to normal now. |

This is an old article I found on WebMD about it. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Jan. 26, 2005 -- Need another healthy reason to drink green tea? Aside from fighting heart disease, cancer, and other diseases, a new study shows that drinking green tea may also fight fat. The study showed that people who drank a bottle of tea fortified with green tea extract every day for three months lost more body fat than those who drank a bottle of regular oolong tea. Researchers say the results indicate that substances found in green tea known as catechins may trigger weight loss by stimulating the body to burn calories and decreasing body fat. The findings appear in the January issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Green Tea: Fat Fighter?Black tea, oolong tea, and green tea come from the same Camellia sinensis plant. But unlike the other two varieties, green tea leaves are not fermented before steaming and drying. Most teas contain large amounts of polyphenols, which are plant-based substances that have been shown to have antioxidant, anticancer, and antiviral properties. However, green tea is particularly rich in a type of polyphenols called catechins. These substances have also been shown to have anti-inflammatory and anticancer properties, but recent research in animals show that catechins may also affect body fat accumulation and cholesterol levels. In this study, researchers looked at the effects of catechins on body fat reduction and weight loss in a group of 35 Japanese men. The men had similar weights based on theirBMI (body mass index, an indicator of body fat) and waist sizes. The men were divided into two groups. For three months, the first group drank a bottle of oolong tea fortified with green tea extract containing 690 milligrams of catechins, and the other group drank a bottle of oolong tea with 22 milligrams of catechins. During this time, the men ate identical breakfasts and dinners and were instructed to control their calorie and fat intake at all times so that overall total diets were similar. After three months, the study showed that the men who drank the green tea extract lost more weight (5.3 pounds vs. 2.9 pounds) and experienced a significantly greater decrease in BMI, waist size, and total body fat. In addition, LDL "bad" cholesterol went down in the men who drank the green tea extract. The catechin content varies by amount of green tea used and steeping time. But general recommendations, based on previous studies on the benefits of green tea, are at least 4 cups a day. Green tea extract supplements are also available. Researchers say the results indicate that catechins in green tea not only help burn calories and lower LDL cholesterol but may also be able to mildly reduce body fat. "These results suggest that catechins contribute to the prevention of and improvement in various lifestyle-related diseases, particularly obesity," write researcher Tomonori Nagao of Health Care Products Research Laboratories in Tokyo, and colleagues. |

The most accurate way of determining due date is through a sonogram. So you might just have to wait a little while. As for dating the pregnancy, I think 3 weeks is right but you are in your 4th or 5th week so they say 4 or 5 weeks. It is confusing. |

I had never heard of CLA much less tried it, so I looked it up. Here is a WebMd article on it. http://www.webmd.com/diet/news/20040520/cla-w eight-loss
I personally wouldn't take it after reading it. It's all about making informed decisions. |

I'd like to take on this challenge. It sounds like a challenge. I managed to lose 2 lbs last week and hope to repeat this week. Also I do like to weigh myself first thing in the morning, but I don't like logging that weight. I wait until my fluids redistribute and use that, I feel like I am lying to myself if I use the smaller one. Is that weird? |

I am no expert. But, I know what I would do. And that is eat. Small healthy low salt snacks all day long. Like every 2 hours just so you are not hungry but never get bloated. Like nuts, apples, banana, yogurt, carrots, low fat cheese, small salad, half a chicken or tuna sandwich. I think its the better route than starving. Good Luck and congrats on your progress. |

I am at home all day, (SAHM) and the scale is right there. So I know its bad but I weigh myself 5 times a day just to see if the scale works or how my weight fluctuates. In the morning it is the lowest and usually increases 1.5 to 2 lbs once I have eaten and stays that way. I usually wear light weight clothes and am shoeless, or just naked. My period tacks on ~5 lbs a couple a days before and passes after my heavy flow day. Yugh. So I usually take the high weight as my true weight because I feel like I am cheating if I use the low one. But I still love seeing that lower number. I might have to limit my weigh ins but I am such an impatient person. |

I had a similar thing happen to me. First of all I was in denial about the fact that wedding dresses run smaller, and refused to go higher than a size 16, when I was sure I was a 14. So I got a 16 where the corset was at max capacity. Then I guess I gained 5 lbs by the big day. My girdle was so tight it I couldn't breathe, there was hardly enough lacing to tie it. I was in pain since after the first dance, pretty much wanted to beg everyoneto leave at 11 pm so I could get into sweats. I am sure there is video of me making angry faces on the happiest day of my life. Ehh, just wanted to share. |
