Congratulations, tattooed_kitty! You're right, it really is a great feeling, isn't it?! I had a similar situation recently - the scale had stopped moving so I figured that the inches were going to be the same. But then when I took my measurements, I'd lost about 6" in about 4 weeks and had dropped another pant size! This whole getting in shape thing is really fun when it works |

vegetariangeek - GET YOUR BUTT TO THE GYM AND YOU DON'T REALLY NEED *THAT* MUCH CHEESE ON YOUR SALAD! But seriously, my weakness is also cheese (ooh, glorious, yummy, wonderful cheese) and I've been slacking in the exercise department as well...yikes... That being said, I'm still sitting at 129 darnit! 150/129/120 |

Betl5, it seems like you start threads hoping to hear certain answers, and then when anyone responds in a different way you get upset. Starting a thread about "how much do YOU think I look like I weigh?" or "how many pounds do YOU think I'll have to lose to look like HER?" - I mean, really, what do you expect people to say?!

I have to agree with mrsdagle's last comment - you might want to dig a little deeper and ask why people seem to dislike you. You've mentioned, several times, that you are "taller, thinner and prettier" than her and the other people working at your salon. From your profile, I gather that you have a pretty high opinion of yourself. That's fine and all, but sometimes what you think is self confidence comes off to others as cockiness and well, maybe that's what's going on here. Maybe they think you are just cocky. You keep mentioning that you've had lots of enemies at work, and that all of the women have been "larger" women, well chances are this attitude you've got towards them isn't contained to these forums - without even meaning to, you may be putting out that vibe at work, and perhaps that is what these people (your "enemies" at work) are reacting to. I guess what I'm trying to say here is that if it was an isolated incident, if this was the first time you'd had these suspicions about your workmates (that since they're larger than you, they must just be jealous of you), then perhaps you might be right. But honestly, if it's a trend, then chances are it's something about you and the attitude you put out there that is making people react to you that way.

Eek! I completely forgot the weigh in yesterday! The good news is, I've broken my plateau and finally dropped on the scale this week! The bad news is, it's not that accurate since I had a night of heavy drinking last night, and let's just say this morning when I weighed myself it was after "the morning after" BM and we all know how that goes...I weighed in at 126 lbs, but I completely know that that'll be up to normal again by this afternoon. So, my actual weigh in (what I weighed in at the rest of the week): skinnylv - 150/129/120 |

So, earlier this week I made it down to 129, but this morning my official weigh in is still 130. Sigh. Oh well at least I know that I can still lose, I'll just have to make sure I keep that pound off next week!

Weigh in for this week~ skinnylv - 150/130/120 - down 1 lb
Yay, I get to move up to the 01-10 lbs til goal list woohoo!
Also, makinitcount to answer your questions, I weigh myself in the morning, after I use the bathroom and shower. I weigh myself without any clothes on, but sometimes just for fun to see what the difference is during the day, I weight at night and boy does that make a difference - I'm always at least 2 lbs heavier at night! |

| Weight Loss | So You Think You Can Dance... the weight off? | Jun 27 2008 06:48 (UTC) |

Haha, I love the title of this thread. Nice work, legaleli. I absolutely LOVE So You Think You Can Dance...and I KNOW I could dance the weight off, because dance was my only form of exercise for a good 8 years of my life. I danced from the time I was 12 to 20, and it was amazing what dance did for my body. I know I know, we shouldn't judge our weight/health/metabolism etc currently against our weight/health/metabolism when were were teenagers, because most of us ate all the crap we wanted and were thin anyways, but still - I definitely noticed the benefits of dancing during that time in my life. When I danced, the differences were noticeable immediately when I stopped - during the summer months, when there were fewer classes offered, my body would react pretty radically. I'd come back with weird stretch marks all over and I'd just feel crappy. And of course, I was toned as all get out

When I was in high school, I worked at the local library as a bookshelver. It was great - super easy (just have to know the alphabet and be able to count to 10 haha), laidback and the pay was pretty good - at least $5/hr more than minimum wage (in Canada). I ended up staying at that job all through university, too, because of the flexibility and ease of the job. The only thing with a job like that is it's very quiet and you can go for hours without talking to a single person, so if you're an extremely social person that doesn't like silence, then this probably isn't the job for you haha. Me, I was/still am a really social person, but I've always also been a fan of being alone and not talking to anyone for a few hours here and there |

Personally, I find that summer is an easier time to lose weight because of the variety of different summer fruits/veggies and other summer cooking options available. Nothing like firing up the bbq on a hot summer afternoon to grill some salmon and veggies, then have some watermelon and strawberries for dessert. Yummy! About the bathing suit issue - I see that you mean, it can be a little disheartening when you've made progress but still are not quite satisfied with how you look in a bathing suit (FYI, this is exactly where I'm at right now! I'm loving that I've lost the 20lbs, but the bathing suit thing is still not happening haha). My attitutude about that is just "hey, I'm almost there - imagine next summer, I'll finally look good in a bathing suit again! ha!" |

Piperrose, I also hit a plateau a while back and when I started zig-zagging, I immediately started losing weight again. I actually used this site - http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calc ulator.htm# - as a guide for my daily caloric intake, and it worked beautifully.

My birthday is on July 8th! It's funny that our stats are so similar, even our birthdays!
At my heaviest, I was 150lbs and I also have a small frame, so to be honest with you no one ever told me I didn't need to lose weight. My body is very strange - I don't have a problem with my arms/legs/butt, it all goes to my waist! So, when I was at 145/150, I had MAJOR muffin top going on, but in the face and from behind, etc, I pretty much looked the same as I do now! It's annoying to gain weight that way, because there's no such thing as "spot reducing" so although I don't really want/need to lose weight in the rest of my body, I have to lose overall weight in order to shrink the little gut I've got going haha! Anyways, that's why I think that no one ever said to me that I didn't need to lose weight, because with my stomach hanging over my jeans, it definitely DID look like I needed to lose.

It might be hard to try and get your social circle to engage in some form of exercise in place of the regular get togethers. I know since I've been losing weight, I've even had a hard time convincing my friends to go to restaurants where I can get healthy food! What I've had to do is just adjust my own habits to make up for whatever group activity I will be participating in - if we're going to a restaurant that I know has higher calorie options only, then I just make sure to eat healthier/lighter during the day and/or do something to burn extra calories that day. Personally, I've found that I hate common exercises like jogging, playing sports, etc. I hate the gym, too. But I did find a couple different workout tapes that have become my saving grace - I do Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Abs, and let me tell you if it weren't for finding that I love these tapes, I still wouldn't be exercising and probably wouldn't have made the progress that I have. I find that the workout tapes work for me because I can do them alone at home, and I can just fit them into my schedule as I see fit. Plus, they are so fun for me because I love dancing=) So, just find something that you actually like doing, and then you won't feel like a chore to get it done. Just so you know, I'm 27 (well, 26 turning 27 in a few weeks), also 5'3 and I was 144lbs when I started a few months ago. I'm down to 131lbs now, and I'm also hoping to get down to 120lbs by the end of summer. I'm sure we can both attain our goals, todeinotaton! |

Thanks for the replies, everyone! valsgoal - First off, congratulations on your amazing transformation! You look phenomenal! To answer your questions - I started at 150lbs and am now at 130 (remember I'm only 5'3 though). Now that I think about it, I bet you're all right - people might notice and just not say anything to me because weight is such a touchy subject for most people, and anyways I notice the difference and that's all that really matters We should all be proud of what we've accomplished and will accomplish in the future - keep up the good work everyone!

Honestly, I want to lose weight just because my 10 year high school reunion is coming up and I want to look great for it=) It's silly and shallow, I know, but I just want to look at least as good as I did back then... |

Hi pinupdoll,
Congrats on losing weight- yay you! haha. First off, I just wanted to let you know that like you, my main area of concern is my stomach. No matter how much weight I've gained or lost in my life, my stomach has always always been my main problem area - spare tire syndrome all the way! But since I've started exercising and using CC, I've lost 12 lbs, and guess what it's most evident in my stomach! My boyfriend and others have commented on how flat my stomach is looking these days, and I can tell too because I don't have "muffin top" hanging over my jeans anymore. I can say with 100% confidence that it is because of the exercise tapes I've been doing - HIP HOP ABS!!! I swear by these tapes! Trust me, if you start doing Hip Hop Abs, you'll see results in just a few weeks - I lost 6 lbs in the first 2 weeks of CC + Hip Hop Abs, and it all came off of my stomach.
I sound like I'm trying to sell you something haha, but honestly I just had to respond when I read your post, because I know EXACTLY how you're feeling. For the longest time, I'd always gain weight in my stomach FIRST and then lose that weight LAST when I worked out. But now that's the total opposite. If you can, I'd highly recommend getting hip hop abs and adding that to your work out routine on top of a balanced diet with CC. And the best part it, Hip Hop Abs is so much fun! There are several different routines you can do - from 5 mins a day to 40 mins a day - so you can make it fit into your schedule no matter how busy you are! I really hope you try it out, because I just know it will help you target your stomach area!
Good luck and let me know how it goes.

| Fitness | Turbo Jams, I need to know before I order. | Apr 04 2008 03:26 (UTC) |

Lillysmominpa,
I haven't tried Turbo Jam myself, but I have wanted to order it in the past. I've heard mixed reviews. If you're looking for something that works, and isn't hard on the knees, I'd suggest Hip Hop Abs! I know it looks lame, but I've been doing it for only a few weeks and I've already seen major results! It's fun, too. In the first week, I lost 4 lbs (and I think it would have been even more, but I didn't change my eating habits that first week), and about 2 inchs off my waist. My midsection is my main problem area, so I'm not really taking note of the rest of my body, but my boyfriend says he can even see the difference already in my arms and butt haha. So yeah, I'd definitely recommend Hip Hop Abs to anyone who asks.
Good luck with whatever program you end up choosing.
