Original Post by pokemewithpolaris:

I ate a healthy breakfast

2 HB eggs (no salt)

3 prunes

1cup strawberries with balsamic vinegar

8oz skim milk

and now I feel bloated and fat and all I can think of it OMG ive eaten 460 calories already and its not even 10 oclock.

I dont want to feel this way and I know its not healthy (I have an ED) and I know if I feel this way im likely to not eat for the rest of the day

It doesn't sound like 460 calories.  More like 300

Yes... I feel like most of my diet consists of carbs. It's horrible. I love bread...ANY kind.  I love oatmeal and cereal.  I can seriously live off of it.   Anyone have ideas that satisfy bread cravings? I already eat the sugar free reduced cal one.

You don't have to be underweight to have an ED.  It's all in your mind.  To me it sounds like you do and you may need to talk to a counselor or evne a nutritionist to help you make the right choices.  Good luck.

Weight Loss Charts say obese - all friends say not Jul 10 2008

Original Post by ktjensen:

Well I looked at the charts and they say I am obese at 6 foot 2 inches and 231 pounds, age 46, male.  All my friends say I am not obese (At the border. if I loose two pounds I am just overweight), which may be an epidemic problem across america.  The doctors have cleared me for exercise though, but I need to make sure I do not hurt my joints with this weight.

So how do I handle relatives and friends saying I am not obese, or that I am looking fine; when the reality is I am overweight.   Last time I lost weight my relatives said I looked skinny when I was still ten to twenty pounds above ideal weight.

Sorry for the typo

Hey did say 231 all along

I eat cereal dry.  Fiber One or the Kashi.  I used to eat Fruit Loops with cream...bleah!!!

Yup Fiber 1 is only 60 cal for half cup and 100 with milk.  Thats pretty good for cereals.  I feel you though.  That is like my favorite meal.  I have to look for the lowest in calories and sugar.  Fiber 1 seams to be the one.  Yeah it's not as good as having the really good and sweet cereals but it works for me.

No cottage cheese doesn't really taste like cream cheese.  It's a little less flavorful and has sort of a tangy taste to it.  Which is why I like to mix it with something sweet or even hot sauce and crackers.  You should try it some day.

How about fat free cream cheese spread? More protein less sugar and no fat.  Also a bit of peanut butter and a drizzle of honey.  That's yummy and ur getting good fat and lots of protein. A tiny bit of honey just makes it a bit sweet.

Thank you. Yes I you are right.  It is a mental thing.  My goal is to just let go and enjoy food like I used to even if it means working out and eating healthier instead.  Thank you for your advice.  I didn't realize it until I read your post.

Why don't you just have one/ Open up the pack and eat only one and share the other with a friend or put it away for another craving day.  My first graders are so sweet that they like to bring them to me, and I usually eat only one from the package and give my best behaved student the other to to a teacher.  Hope this helps.  You can still have certain things, but you just have to eat half of what you used to if it's something like poptarts.

Wow there girlfriend.  You are considered underweight already. I'm 5'3 and 107. CC says I'm also underweight which makes you even more because you are taller than me?  Why don't you consider weight training to get toned, but please don't lose any more weight.  You are going to dissappear and it's not healthy for you. Go to tool and click calorie target and it will tell you how many calories to eat.

It's good to eat apples, but I think you're probably having too much sugar.  Why don't you try more variety such as vegetables maybe some yogurt, or almonds?

If you don't go to work until 1:30, then why don't you split breakfast and a snack in two mini meals of 200-250 calories each?  Also when you go to work take some fruit or a meal replacement bar.  That's an extra 200 calories or so, and then have a nice dinner and leaves you with some room to have a small snack before bed.  This is how it would kind of be:

Breakfast:  Bowl of cereal with skim milk and a banana- 250

Snack- apple with one teaspoon of peanutbutter or yogurt-and slice of wheat toast- 250

Lunch- Replacement bar or shake- 250cal

snack-fruit or a yogurt with granola- 150

Dinner- chicken and rice or pasta with shrimp or salmon- 400

Small snack- fat free yogurt or string cheese- 100

Total calories-1400, still leaves you room to cheat *)

Weight Loss Confused about changing calorie intake for weight loss... Apr 29 2008

I would just reduce my caloric intake by 100 a week and slowly increase for the next weeks until you reach the 500.  Dropping too many calories may make you feel tired and hungry if done all at once.
