Maintaining Did I just eat an entire box of cereal? Why yes. Yes I did. Nov 23 2009

But I do think everybody binges every now - and I think before I cared about foods/etc I didn't even consider stuff like this a binge.

Like i feel like when I was at my highest weight, I just ate ALOT and didn't care at all if I finished that box of cereal or not. I didn't consider it a binge. (which led to crazy weight gain but) and that's not because I wasn't getting enough nutrients from my normal foods or from me depriving myself.

It's only when you start to count calories/care about what goes into your mouth that you consider it a binge.

But anyhow, if you want to stop binging, stop buying junk food around in your house and if you want something sweet, get it in small packages from like the vending machine. Keep healthy snacks around the house like fruits/veggies because even if you do binge on carrots for example, you wont feel bad at all. actually you'll feel pretty damn proud of yourself for eating that many carrots instead of cookies

^heheh no I had already eaten dinner at like 5:30. :D haha it wasn't really my starvation hungry thing, it was definitely "I NEED SOME SUGAR NOW" kinda moment.

I just treated myself to 2 packages of korean cookies yesterday as well (small packages) and I don't feel bad about it... although I meant to eat only one. haha. You gotta let yourself enjoy it every now and then.

I don't count really anymore and I feel better... I started eating more and I'm not gaining weight at all (I lost weight actually although I didn't exercise at all) oh well :)

Health & Support To Anyone Who Binges: Nov 21 2009

Man I had that feeling today due to writing a paper for like 12+ hours... and a horrible week. It only lasted for like 10 minutes though and I had no food to binge on exactly... I ate a serving of strawberries and peaches, what I had in my apartment with a carrot and a cucumber. LOL. And then I chewed gum pretty heavily, because I felt like I wanted to chew something more than anything else!

Weight Loss One Apple. Three Chocolate Chip Cookies. Nov 21 2009

I actually had a period where I ate crap all day long instead of healthy foods.

yeah it definitely matters where the calories come from. Calories from cookies are from pure sugar, but apples have vitamins, fiber, and natural sugar... totally different :) cheer up

I put in either soy milk or skim milk in my coffee instead of a creamer. if your coffee is around 300 calories, something needs to change, lol. I like plain black too, it's an acquired taste but once you get it, it's really delicious. :)

Maybe you can get fiber one cereal? You can't binge on those because afterwards, you would get a HUGE blockage in your stomach! haha. You are sorta forced to ONLY eat like 1/2 cup to a cup every day and it's pretty sweet. It's my sweet treat along with my gum/candy during the day :)

Maintaining Binged Yesterday.... Nov 18 2009

Yeah I don't know why, but this certainly happens. I do treat myself quite often (only with healthy foods usually, like fruits, cottage cheese, etc) and eat occasional candy and so on. I just realized I don't really have a gigantic urge for them anymore though, sometimes they are wayy too sweet. However, I definitely know when that happens because it happens to me too!

I just don't keep stuff like that in my apartment. I have healthy treats, like yogurt, cottage cheese. I go and eat those things along with carrots on top of my daily caloric intake on certain days so I'm eating more than I should, but I don't feel bad about it because it's cottage cheese! If I have stuff like chocolate, I tend to avoid it entirely until one day where I empty the entire thing (Like I said, I don't have a huge desire for chocolate until it hits me one day, leading me to binge.)

I also used to have huge binges - I hate how my stomach feels and looks afterwards. So after I eat, I just think "Am I getting close to that feeling again?" then usually I stop eating. I know it's hard to do that during a binge though. Just after it happens, don't worry about it too much. Just go running the next day and cut down a LITTLE bit. (not too much, or it'll become a cycle). Just relax, and live on :D

Go for the vegetables first... pack your plates HIGH with vegetables and salads. THEN pick up little pieces of meat and other things here and there. It always worked for me.

Get the pineapple ones! It's sooo delicious. Also try the cottage rounds, it comes with a sweet strawberry jam ish thing. You can get your own jam/fruit and mix it in there.

Personally I just eat it with some sugar + peaches/whatever fruits I may have. I actually stocked up on pineapple cottage cheese though, it's sooo good. I keep on eating it and eating it.

Foods How to choose beef? Nov 06 2009
07:57 (UTC)

Thanks for all the help! :D Since I have these key words now (choice, select, prime) hopefully I'll be ok on my own.. LOL.

Kriklaf- Well, I know it's possible but the reason I couldn't really do vegetarian diet before was because I can't really keep up with all these numbers. I rather just eat meat and get it over with since one portion of meat has like 25g of protein compared to tofu around 15g for the same amount, I think. I also eat alot of cottage cheese to make up for it, but I can't keep up with all the numbers. sigh.

Since I don't eat meat that much I just go for the grocery store stuff.. I'm a poor college student *shrugs*

Original Post by danaofdoom:

Now that dabrock  mentions it, I've seen pictures of colonoscopies (gross, I know) and all I saw in there was pink insides. Definately did not look like build up.

I don't get why people think they need to detox their bodies. Our bodies have been perfected over millions of years of evolution. What newfangled, "scientifically backed" fad could possibly beat that?

And those cleanses sound dangerous to me. Ten days without food? I'll pass.

THat's because before they have the procedure, they have to empty it out. :) That's where things like enema comes in....

There ARE things in your colon but I reckon it's always there...

Usually vegetables make me bloat along with fiber... I was really bloated lately but then I ate some avocados and it went down alot. I wonder if fat makes bloating go down? I have no idea but it worked yesterday....

I have a day or two in the week where I don't count. It's not exactly binging days although sometimes it leads to it... A little bit. But whenever it happens, don't kill yourself over it. Relax. Just eat normally the next day! If you undereat the next day more than usual then this cycle will return. Just give yourself a free day or two in the week. I'm doing so much better because of this.

I am eating pretty balanced meals I think, it's just that during a meal more than 50 percent is probably vegetables? Like today I ate a tuna salad sandwich with a side of small salad... then had cottage cheese with peaches. Kinda like that. Or yesterday I ate a bean tomato rice bowl with chicken.... ok not those days so much, but I do eat alot of vegetables in general. Like a vegetable sandwich with cheese/mayo and a salad.

I definitely been eating enough yesterday because I ate like.. 1800 calories? I didn't count yesterday. I'm not starving myself :) ... and when I did before long ago, I had a pretty flat stomach at that HAHAHAHA. I tried not eating enough  before and dont really wanna go there again... I like food. and that's why I have been stuck at my weight for like 5-7 months (shrugs) I like to be healthier than focus on weight, see?

I just didn't have a bloating problem for the entire summer and now... it's constant. Just wondering what's going on. I'm thinking it's the celery.... but then again I don't eat celery every day either :/

What is citrucel? Senna doesn't work on me btw..... Steamed vegetables (broccolis or cauliflower) don't have much of an effect on me... I know because I ate ALOT of it last semester without bloating. It's not artificial sugar because I drank too much diet sodas before this to cross it off... Maybe I just need to cook my vegetables.. (which i didn't do for lunch today....... out of laziness... oops..)

I wanted to clean out my system too but i don't want to buy any colon cleansers, I guess... I bought milk of magnesia yesterday though.

I am still taking them, but I have been taking them since May without this much bloating.

This started pretty recently so I'm wondering what's going on. I drank alot of diet sodas before this without this much bloating I think...

I think it's probably the raw veggies I've been eating. I just grab celery and carrots these days and chow down on them. or i lightly sautee them. I think I need to cook them more throughly....

Or just pure increase of veggies in general. I'm eating a high vegetable diet now because I realized I LOVE vegetables! I didn't know they could cause so much bloating... or could it be the cottage cheese?

I don't eat breakfast.... or pretty much right after I get up is right when I leave the house so this question doesn't really make sense to me. I would eat breakfast right after I get up which is right before I leave the house.

I guess I would eat before I put on clothes and brush my teeth... so first choice.

for cake alternatives (even if you would rather just have the original thing)

tofu cheese cake or cottage cheese cheesecake? DUN DUN

Foods Snacking all the time Oct 19 2009
09:31 (UTC)

This is from awhile back but just to update -

I know this is a bad habit but gum really works the best. I tend to eat something once I start to eat, so I just get eating out of the way around lunch and dinner time. I chew gum throughout the night, or more like suck on it.... and eat occasional hummus dipped celery, carrots and drink water. I think it's working. Thanks guys.

And to help my night time snacking, I set another eating schedule aronud at 10 instead of getting rid of it all together.

I'm your height with same exact numbers.

Girl let me tell you, it doesn't matter if you are 110 lbs or 105 lbs or 99lbs. You'll always feel fat. Girls will always have that "Oh i can lose another 5 lbs" feeling. I definitely had it every time I lost 5 lbs. I actually gained 5 lbs and everything fits fine. I hope I can lose 5 lbs again but let me tell you it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I suggest buying it in person because I know things dont fit right/look right when you buy online... I wouldn't risk it with this kind of purchase. You might wear it once, but the pictures will be around for a LONG time...

Foods Really Low Calorie Ice Cream??? Oct 18 2009

in the mean time you can make a quicky version with...

ice shaver/blender

some milk/soy milk

splenda and fruit.

Mix it all together. Try to use at least 1% fat milk because skim will just make it taste like water.

Different from ice cream but I like my shaved ice without syrups! It's a adaption from korean version of shaved ice without the red bean syrup stuff... Just put in a lot of fruit.
