Original Post by bembrey: I believe every word she says....been there and done that with the injuries--a really bad shin splint that put me out of the running game for almost six months. This time I'm going about it the smarter way and I'm not going to be running (much) until I've lost a good 10-15 pounds more. I'm doing the strength training workout she has there for runners...I mean, why not? It makes sense that you need to be stronger and lighter so you put the least stress on your body that you can while running. |

Height: 5'2 This week was SO much better for me than last...I started it off last weekend without going overboard (yay!) and TTOM is now over, so my cravings and appetite have also settled down (double yay!). I am really happy to be in the 130s - it seems crazy to think that in a while I will be saying that about the 120s. I haven't been in the 120s since high school! Good job everyone, I attribute a lot of my motivation to you because I know I will have to be accountable to you when I weigh in on Friday. Thank you so much for your support and encouragement. Have a great weekend.......... khkvd, I'm hope the rest of the week is going better for you. I haven't heard much about mindful eating vs. calorie counting, but why not give it a try and see if it works for you? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt and perhaps a different approach will make it easier. |

Don't worry, khkvd. I know exactly what I know what you mean about "being good" and then "being bad".... I tend to do the yo-yo thing too, and I fail over and over again, but when i pick myself up and get going again, I try to tell myself that its never too late to change my eating habits or my emotional tendencies to food. It's never too late to lose the weight....I'm not going to be skinny overnight and I'm not going to be perfect in my relationship with food overnight either. Its easy for me to say it to someone else, but so much harder to make it work for myself! **hugs** to you--I know you can do it. We are here to help you and listen! |

Height: 5 ft 2 in SW: March 3 144.4 lbs --high due to weekend overindulgence :( March 6 141.0 lbs --thank goodness at least most of that water weight came off! March13 141.8 lbs --ack, yes, I had a GAIN this week instead of a loss. March 20 March 27 April 3 Some of its TTOM, but I've been overdoing it in the food department as well...I'm sorry people, I will get my sorry butt in gear this week! I am really starting to love being accountable to you guys and hearing how you're doing. A huge congrats on the loss, hollister--that's a 6.5 lb loss already this month! Way to go!!! And good for you, k10manion, you had a loss this week--its "only" one pound but each pound adds up. Pick up a pound of butter, hey you lost that much this week!! Personally I think its awesome! |

Oh goodness ladies, I haven't had the greatest week and I'm not looking forward to weighing in tomorrow **biting fingernails nervously** The scale has just been going up and up and I've got an insatiable appetite like....I don't know, a whale???! So I've gone quite a ways over my calorie limits for two nights now (not to mention the weekend!), but it all started making sense to me when last night--Tada! I got my period. And its a good week and a half early, so I'm that's why I've been so hungry. I'm always hungry before, which means it should be a little smoother sailing now. clg, we are going to have a great weekend, ok?!! I will try to think of you everytime I go to eat something I know I shouldn't--and I won't because I know I will have to 'fess up to you on Monday!! Deal?? I don't have a husband and his eating habits to worry about yet, but I'm still single and living at home with my family--which is really tough too, because I don't have control over the junk food or other tempting food that is in the house. We always have desserts around for the kids' lunches. If it's there and everybody else is eating it, I want it too! And unfortunately, I usually end up eating more than my share of it. |

Oh good for you!! I love capps, but I've cut them back to maybe once a week, if even that. It's all about little victories, hey? Mine today was not eating that huge double chocolate 500-calorie muffin that my boss brought for coffee time this morning! |

Original Post by khkvd: Unfortunately that was me again this weekend On the bright side of things, at least I recognize what's happening mentally! I just need to prepare myself for the next time and not let a little too much of one thing turn into a lot too much of everything. Now if I can only face the fact that A) its not healthy and B) its really hindering my weight loss, then maybe I can make a better go of it.

Hey clg7357, I LOVE hockey too!!! I live in a really small town in Saskatchewan, Canada. Its an indoor rink with natural ice, so as the weather gets nicer its going to be winding down :( The 30 Day shred is a DVD by Jillian Michaels. I bought mine on Amazon for around $15 and its a kick-butt workout...yeah, I can barely make it through the first level (yet!!) Have a great weekend, everybody!! |

March13 March 20 March 27 April 3 I'm looking forward to see next week's weigh-in (or maybe not since it will be getting closer to TTOM). I was really hoping for 140 this week, but I ate a lot last weekend, so I'm sure that I did actually gain a pound or two. So I'll take 141 and just get myself ready for a better weekend! Good luck to everyone else on their weigh-ins!! |

Aww, c-weed, I know how you're feeling with TTOM...one of my biggest problems when that rolls around is that I get absolutely RAVENOUS about I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow too--I'd be really happy if all that water weight from last weekend's overindulgences comes off!! khkvd, if you haven't had all of your calories during the day, then it is ok to eat even after 7 or 8 pm. It really is your personal preference and shouldn't affect your weight loss goals. I find that I often sleep better if I have a little snack before bed. This week has been going good for me so far...we're doing a "Lent Challenge" here at work until Easter, which means no candy, junk food (chips, etc.), or sweets (like desserts, cookies, brownies, ice cream) so with that and our little "Yikes!" group here, its making it a lot easier to stick with it! I woke up at 5 yesterday morning and couldn't sleep, so I hit the treadmill for 45 minutes while I was studying, then showered and got ready for work. I never work out in the mornings normally, but it felt good. Then in the evening I did 10 minutes (lol, just 10 minutes) of the 30 Day Shred. I'm trying to keep my calories in the 1400-1500 range, with one day of the week, usually Sunday, where I up it to 2,000 which is around maintenance level. It seems to be working pretty well. How's everyone else feeling about the week? How's it going calorie and exercise wise? |

Hey everyone, nice to see we're getting a good group together here! I'm excited, this is my first time as part of a group so I hope we can help keep each other motivated. I've tried losing the weight quite a few times before, but it takes a certain level of discipline and determination (which I haven't had everytime) and this time I'm feeling VERY determined. I CAN do this. And you can too!! An extra motivator for me is the fact that I met a really nice guy a couple of weeks ago when I was snowboarding...and we're just friends right now (ahhh, that cliched phrase!) but I really want to look my best when I see him again...whenever that may be. |

For exercising, I am fairly active even though I have a desk job. I go skating/play hockey 2-3 times per week, and right now I'm also studying for a course at work so I walk on the treadmill (at a fairly good speed and varying inclines) while I study. I'm not doing much for strength training (my bad, I know!). But I do have Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, and I'd like to start doing it at least once a week until hockey is over and then do it more often. |

Sure, Fridays work for me! Height: 5 ft 2 in Starting weight: March 3 144.4 lbs (my weight is really up today, since I REALLY overdid it yesterday--hence my need for motivation! I imagine I will have a big loss by Friday, but it will be a lot of water weight.) My actual weight is about 140 lbs. March 6 March13 March 20 March 27 April 3 |

Hey there, c-weed! I really need a partner to motivate me...I joined CC almost a year ago, lost about 10 lbs but never got to my goal weight, and now I'm almost back to where I started. I confess that I'm not so good about sticking with a group, but if there's just you and me and a few others, it will be great to have someone to be accountable to! My overall goal is to lose 20 lbs, but I would love to make a mini goal of losing 10 lbs by Easter (April 12th), which is also only 4 days from my birthday. Would you like to do weekly weigh-ins? I'd also like to check in with each other during the week to see how its going....I think the support and accountability will be a great boost and motivator. |

Hey there, hope I'm not bursting your bubble about the calorie content of your recipe, but I threw it into the recipe analyzer just to see what the ratios of carbs/protein/fat would be because it looked like something I might want to try....and it came out to 213 calories for the whole thing. I'm wondering if you actually meant three tablespoons of ground flax seed, or if that was supposed to be 3 teaspoons?? If its 3 teaspoons, then you're looking at 141 calories. Anyways, sounds interesting--I'll have to try it! |

I'm glad you asked about shin splints. I got really bad shin splints after one particularly longer run (9 miles) on October 27th and they're still healing now. I had been building up my mileage slowly enough, so I'm not sure if it was a longer run on pavement (I usually run on gravel roads) or just that I should get a new pair of shoes, or what. I've been sidelined from running basically since then--I have gone a couple times, but everytime the pain came back. So I haven't run at all for over a month and its driving me crazy too! It's been feeling good especially this past week (as in no pain at all), but last night I went walking on the treadmill (incline and fast walk, no jogging or running) and now I can vaguely feel it again. I really want to get healed and get going again....I'm was supposed to be training for a half-marathon at the end of May. On the other hand, I know if I don't get better, then they'll just come back again. Good luck--I hope yours heal fast! |
