I like food and I like to eat.  For me I eat 7 times a day (three meals, four snacks) and I stay within my calorie allowance.  This way I always have something to look forward to and I never really get hungry.  I try not to eat carbs for dinner or later in the day.  I eat sugar free jello, rice cakes, veggies, cottage cheese or yogurt for snacks.

Put down the knife and step away from the frosting!  You probably feel like crap because that is what you are eating.

We all have times when we fall off the wagon.  The trick is not to beat yourself up over it because that just makes it that much harder to get back on the wagon.

So, I say, forgive yourself and start over tomorrow by eating what you know you should.

Fisrt off - there is nothing to say this is recent!  Second he said they are sh@ting - not sh@t.  Big difference.  As for the n%$$er, I could not come close to making out what he is saying.  People - if you believe everything you see or think you hear on the internet then we are doomed because ALL the candidates are equally scary!

How much? 9lbs!

Is this the 1st time? Yes

Are you finished? No, 21 more to go

How long? 5 weeks

What approach did you use?  I eat 3 meals and 4 snacks a day - I never feel hungry or deprived.  I stay within my 1,250 calorie count.  I cut out most processed foods, chips and candy.  I cut back on pastas, breads and rice.  When I go to parties or family get togethers I take ALL my own food!

How funny you should mention it - I was just telling my daughter I feel like a crack head - only for chips!  If I buy one bag I buy five!  I literally lived on Dorito's and pepsi when I was younger.  So now I try never to buy them - don't even look at them in the store.  I do allow myself to eat them sometimes when out with friends or at special parties but only because I wouldn't embarrass myself by eating a whole bag in front of others, so it is easy for me to moderate.  I eat popcorn and sometimes crackers instead.

I plan my calories in advance, enter them into CC, print it out and hang it on the frig.  Then I do not have to think about it again - I just check things off as I go.

As for the amount of calories - your car can't run without gas in it!  You have to eat to have energy.

I agree with GI Jane - this method will work for anything you want to overcome in your life.  I also would add, I hope you have a good counselor or some other support system in place.  Be strong - you can do it!!!

Thanks for the input.  I agree that I feel better after exercising.  I just sometimes don't have the time or the energy t do it all.  But really, you have no idea how dirty my husband gets the shower! LOL!

Motivation Why Did My Doctor Never Say Anything? Apr 23 2008

As the mother of two girls (now grown women) I would say the Dr. was right not to mention it.  Both my daughters (as well as myself) were rather full figured in their early teens only to thin down in their late teens.   My oldest was 17, 150 and only 5'2.  Our Dr. knew me very well and he never said anything.  My daughter ate well and was always involved in sports so I never said anything either. Teens are so vonurable to eating disorders that unless it is a health issue it may be better to say nothing.  Your mother on the other hand could easily have helped you without you ever knowing as I did for my girls.  Keeping junk food to a minimum and encouraging you to be active.  I think a lot of the young girls go through the same cycle and how society handles it can have a BIG effect on their self-esteem.

I feel for you.  My husband has gained 55 pounds since we got married.  He was in GREAT shape when we were dating (but then again, so was I).  I think, as married people, we take each other for granted too often.  For me, my husbands weight isn't as much the issue as the fact that I feel he doesn't care if I find him attractive or not.  But his weight is NOT my issue and I find that if I focus on it then I am really just avoiding my own issues.  You have to get in shape for yourself not for her.  Don't get her issues confused with your issues.

I am at the beginning of my journey so I have not experienced this yet but I thought the more muscles you had the more calories you burned even at rest? Hmmm.   Anyhow, I think adding weights to your everyday workouts is a great way to up your routine as you get stronger.
