Oh my, I must say that the music I listen to heavily affects the intensity of my workout. I usually set my iPod to shuffle, but here is my ultimate playlist... Kiss Me-Stephen "Tin-Tin" Duffy Oh yeah...

$300! Consider yourself lucky... Last September: Ran a red light. Total fee: $423 plus a Saturday wasted in Traffic School. Bleh. BUT WAIT! 2 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Speeding. Total fee: $156 plus a point on my license because it hasn't been 18 months since my last infraction. I can't wait to see what my insurance will be in 6 months. Oh, and the kicker? I wished the cop Merry Christmas and he blew me off. Nice. If I get another anytime soon, I am going to quit driving. |

Hey everyone! I lost 1 lb! Yay! I am close to 150 again, so I am getting back in to feeling better. It's just nice to see the scale going down for a change! I have been off from work the past couple of days and haven't stuck too close to my exercise plan. I plan to try to keep the 30 min a day of activity goal through the weekend, as well as watching my calorie intake...I say around 1500. I did have a nice moment the other day when I bought some jeans and was able to fit into 8s still! I still have a little more than I would like showing over the waist, but they are super comfy for the most part. These small things help me feel better and stick with my guns more! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! |

Welcome mlmbem! Congratulations on your amazing success so far, and with two little ones, no less! :) And I am so happy for you to be under the 200 mark. That's incredible! shaded44-I totally agree with you about burning out and trying a new approach to this whole thing. I think that's what I did to myself, and now I am starting again, but smarter and a little nicer to myself. I got in 20 minutes of walking today (new shoes messed up my foot, so I couldn't do my 30-rats!) and I plan on doing at least 20 minutes on my exercise bike tonight. I have the next 5 days off (whoo-hoo!) which is quite awesome, but a big challenge for me to keep on track. I actually have a lot to do, but I know that is always a recipe for a lot of eating out and no serious exercise. Hopefully the rain scheduled for this weekend will keep me inside... What are your biggest weight loss hurdles? Mine is portion control. I do pretty well with eating healthy stuff, but I always seem to want to finish my entire plate. This isn't so bad when I am at home, but terrible when I eat out. I have been eating out a bit, but I have adopted a "only eat half of what you got" rule. So far it has worked, seeing as I usually try to order smaller portions anyway. But, as you all know, even small portions are huge in restaurants now. I had the most delicious Ahi Tuna Wrap from The Market Broiler and felt quite satisfied with half...and some of the fries... :) Good luck to everyone today! |

I did some isometrics last night on the way home...it actually made my ride a little better for my back and the commute go faster because I was concentrating a little harder! I didn't meet my exercise goal of 30 minutes last night, but I got 75 minutes in today (I love walking!), so I made up a little for it. I feel much better, especially since I get the night off worry free to spend with my family! My eating plan is going very well and I feel better about this whole weight loss business! :) How is everyone else doing?

nutellabella, the isometric exercises for the car is actually a good idea! I commute for about an hour and a half in the evenings and I never thought of doing anything like that...I already make myself look like a dork to other cars by singing, so I might as well do something productive! :) I usually weigh myself on Friday, if I can remember to do so; how does that sound to everyone? I am up for whatever anyone else thinks too! |

Hey everyone! This weekend was okay...not great though and definitely not what I wanted for my goal! But, today is a new day and I am doing well. It's pouring here in So Cal, so I am unable to go walking, which I was really looking forward to doing. My goal for this week is to get active at least 30 minutes a day. Since walking is out for me today, I plan on getting on my exercise bike this evening. Usually getting up and getting active during the week isn't too hard for me (much like healthy eating), but due to the bad weather, it forces me to exercise at home, which can be very difficult with a family underfoot! How about everyone else? Also, would you guys like to do a weekly weigh in to track our progress or should we just share our weight loss as it happens? Good luck to everyone today! |

Original Post by nutellabella: Totally true! That's what I think and I think that it's a huge barrier for myself. Welcome lozzle! Today has been a little off for me, but I am determined to make it work this weekend. My goal is to do some yoga and keep in my calorie target (around 1400 w/out exercise, 1500 w/exercise). I too have a lot of running around to do this weekend, so I hope it will keep me moving, but not towards the refrigerator! My short-term goal is 130 by 05/10/09 (which is my birthday). It's a little aggressive and based on how I do, I might have to set that date back a little bit. Further, I want to lose an extra 15 and reach my goal weight of 115 by the end of the year, which even if I do reach my 130 goal later than planned, I will have plenty of time to reach the 115 goal. We can do this guys! Good luck this weekend and I will check in with you all on Monday morning! |

The weekend plan sounds great...let's start out slow! :) I don't know about you, but my struggle starts on Friday, so how about we start then? I usually like a little leeway on Sunday, so I will go with the "loose" idea that day. I did well today, mostly because I was a bum and didn't feel like going anywhere, so no junk food got in my mouth! Let's have a great weekend! It's my first weekend officially "back" so I am dedicated to make it work. Good luck! |
