Like someone else mentioned, I bought HRM. I purchased a Polar F6 and I found out I was actually burning LESS than the machine told me! (This is my first week with it!) By almost 100 calories! However, I also found out that I was working out way over my max heart rate and out of my zone! |

I'm a peanut butter fiend and find it amazing on pretty much all foods... I really enjoy the Maranatha Organics brand. It's low in sugar and it is super tasty, either crunchy or creamy!

I'm not a veggie, but I have the SAME problem. I can't figure out if it's all the chicken I eat, or the high levels of protein. My guy friend was bulking for the military, on protein shakes, and he got the "who died" farts too!! I notice they tend to go away when I don't have a protein shake for a day or so... is your protein intake pretty high? I personally tend to eat about 1g/lb or a little less.
On a funnier note...if you can call it that... I travel a lot for work (sales) so imagine being stuck on a plane with this problem... let me know if you come up with a solution!

I also enjoy the bars and shakes when I'm busy - I really love the Promax bars. One thing to note in a lot of the bars espesically is the sugar - if it's low sugar it probably has fake (read: extremely nasty stuff!) in it, but otherwise it's high in sugar. Def. won't help with the fat loss.

| Fitness | What are you supposed eat after a cardio workout? | Mar 19 2009 03:24 (UTC) |

you need a balance of carbs and protein. The protein will help your muscles remain strong and the carbs will help keep your energy up/replentish your energy after your run! I personally like an apple and reduced-fat cheese, or a low-fat graham cracker with peanut butter.

| Foods | sugar intake? what's normal? what's TOO MUCH? | Mar 03 2009 03:46 (UTC) |

to Shakti411: I'm not too familiar with all of the outlines of a raw vegan diet - but beans are low in sugar, high in fiber (to keep you full) and should help a lot with keeping you full! Also don't forget veggies high in fiber (broccoli) - those are lower in cals and will help you to feel full, instead of just amping up on nuts! Also - banana's and pineapple (especially juice as you mention) are some of the fruite with higher sugar levels. Maybe try raspberries, or rhubarb, which are low in sugar and high in fiber! :o) Hope that helps some! |

| Weight Loss | GNC lean shakes | Mar 03 2009 03:19 (UTC) |

Hi Jenny!
I personally use the shakes as a snack or as a meal addition. What would mainly affect your metabolism (in my opinion only) would be that the shakes aren't teaching you how to balance your diet or maintain portions. The shake has a 1:4 carb ratio, but it's imporatant to know how to make a meal that has the same ratio. I hope that makes sense! I subscribe to milliondollarbody.com and it was a really awesome meal planner where you can put in your goal weight and you activity level, and will help you to plan full days/weeks at a time using real food.
Hope that helps! |

Normal?? I'm a 32 DD and a size 4/6. VS has measured me before and tried to tell me I was a 36 C..hah. If you have a Nordstrom's or Dillard's in your area they are they place to go! I good bra is the African bra by Chantelle (pricey but fits/supports amazingly). Now that I know my size I buy them new online! (Ebay!) Anyway - good luck shopping in stores - VS does cary some of the bras but most stores don't carry anything, for cheap, in that size.
good luck! |

| Recipes | cheap protein shake? | Oct 13 2008 20:39 (UTC) |

bodybuilding.com has cheap/good stuff! I get the LeanBody mix b/c it's in individual packets...and the best tasting stuff you can find! It's good with milk and some frozen berries (I get the vanilla ice cream flavor). Also - many shake recipies only call for a couple of tablespoons of the protein powder depending on what else you put in them, such as oatmeal or peanut butter. Those huge jugs you reference last FOREVER! :o)

| Foods | need ideas for FILLING breakfast!! thinking about protein shakes | Oct 13 2008 20:29 (UTC) |

The best shake I've found is "LeanBody" by Labrada Nutrition. I get the vanilla ice cream and mix it with milk and frozen berries. This shake is so filling it normally lasts me for my morning snack and lunch. It's 330 cal and the milk adds another 100 (about). You can mix it with water too if you prefer. Super yummy! They also have LeadBody for Her which is a smaller "snack" shake. Another good breakfast that keeps me full is: 2 pcs of Sara Lee "delightful" bread - 90 cal 3 egg whites - 48 cal some salsa or meat for a little more flavor and a few sticks of celery. The carbs in the whole wheat bread along with the protein keep me going for hours! Hope this helps - |

My breakfast of 2 "Egg Beaters" (1/2 cup) and a few slices of deli turkey (Mesquite to add some flavor) is low in calories and high in protein - it keeps me going almost all morning! Sometimes I'll have a handful of almonds too. Juices are really high in sugar and you'll probably feel that sugar/carb crash not too long afterwards...something to keep in mind!
