haha never heard of Egg in the middle meatloaf before, looks interesting...

Only food that I can think of that makes me a little sick are scrabbled eggs (I put cheese in mine which might be the cause?). I don't get really sick from them but for a couple hours afterwards I usually feel a bit nauseous.

And another thing that's a bit off topic, toothpaste sometimes makes me feel sick for a few minutes if I brush my teeth too fast LOL weird..

Weight Loss What might my size be at 5'2" and 110 pounds? Dec 13 2008

I know most people in this thread are saying around sizes 0-4 (which I found shocking when I first started reading :o) BUT everyone's body is different. I'm currently 5'2" at 115 lbs. and I'm fitting comfortably into size 9 jeans :S Size 7 in capri's or shorts, etc. I'm a definite pear.. I carry mostly all my weight on my stomach and thighs.

I have mainly little to no muscles though. So once I do get down to my goal weight/size of around 110/108 lbs. I'll probably be in a size 7 or 5 in jeans.

Just thought i'd post to give you some perspective.

haha I know exactly how you feel! Since around the beginning of August I stayed around 120-122 lbs. I'm not gonna lie though, I wasn't really focused on my diet or work outs as much b/c of school starting up again. But I recently touched the 119 lbs mark. It feels good to finally see that 1 instead of a 2 on the scale. Each pound on us short peeps is a big difference for sure.

And you're right, it is motivating! I'm starting to actually do work outs again; gotta try hard to squeeze them inbetween my studying. I just got a few more pounds to go!

Congrats and keep it up! (or down? Lol)

I don't crave chocolate that much but I sure would do anything for some cheese pizza!! Cheese pizza with a side of oreo ice cream :( I crave this a lot of the time but I actually feel like I NEED it & would eat the whole thing when it's ttom. And yesterday I caught myself munching on some nice, salty chips. They were gone before I realized that I was eating them.

This week I plan to keep myself super busy so I can try to keep my mind off of it.

I used to have a terrible time of saying no to popcorn at movie theaters too! But once you walk out of there, knowing you didn't give into temptation, you feel SO much better.

I  know most people don't like those 100 calorie packs but I usually sneak one of the oreo 100 cal packs in just in case I really do want to start munching on something if the people I go with are eating popcorn right beside me. Last time I went, the movie was so good, I forgot all about that 100 cal pack and didn't even get to eat it lol

Good luck & enjoy that movie guilt free! haha :D

Weight Loss Short girls here - around 5 feet! Jul 16 2008
05:54 (UTC)
194

I've been working out & eating healthier since the end of May and lost about 7 lbs so far. I'm 5'2" and currently 123 lbs with a goal weight of 110-115.

The 1200 cals per day for female adults definitely still applies to us short peeps. It's the minimal that we need to help us function. If we go below this, our body would go into starvation mode and hold on to every calorie ending up with not loosing weight. I used to ask the same question when I started to diet too because I always associated calories with gaining weight. It's actually good to change up your calorie intake once in a while so your body doesn't get used to one set number. For example, I switch around between 1200 - 1400 so I can continue loosing weight and avoid hitting a plateau. You want to have a deficit of about 500 (up to 1,000) calories a day. (Deficit meaning [the amount you burn in a day] - [how many calories you eat that day] = [your deficit]. You can see the amount you burn on a typical day with 'Total Estimate' number on top of your burn meter. Add this with the calories you burn during any exercise that day.) In a week, I usually aim for about 3500 cal deficit because it equals to a 1 pound loss for that week. (You might want to read around on the site about deficits because I still can't explain it very well lol)

My top tip that I could give you that has helped me is to drink lots of water (8 glasses per day as most people say). It's good for you and also help keep you full in between meals. Also be patient. Try not to expect a bunch of weight loss every week or you'll get discouraged. Between .5-2 lbs lost a week is a healthy pace to lose it.

Weight Loss On a 1200 calorie diet? How's it going? Jul 15 2008
06:45 (UTC)
8

I zigzag my calories but most days (when I'm really lazy and don't exercise) I eat the recommendation of 1200 for my diet. On days I do light to moderate exercise I eat around 1300 cals. When I do my full work out I up my intake to about 1400.

I've been doing this for a few months now and it seems to be working pretty good. Just a lost of about 1 pound a week. I'm not complaining, that's for sure! I personally rather take it nice and slow than drop too much per week so I can be confident to keep it off once I get to my goal weight.

The 1200 per day cals isn't that hard for me to do. For some reason, I don't get very hungry throughout the day (even sometimes on the days that I exercise), but I usually force myself to eat in order to reach the goal of cal intake for that day. I think it has to do with the fact that I ONLY drink water and nothing else (picky eater & drinker lol). I drink lots of it! It helps keep me full pretty easily until my next meal.

Weight Loss When does the first plataue start? Jul 13 2008

It differs for everyone. Whatever you're doing now, keep doing that because it's working. To avoid hitting a plateau, just keep changing it up and don't let your body get used to one set calorie intake or excercise program.

Weight Loss 8 pounds from GW... new goal?? NEW PICS (please comment) Jul 12 2008

Congrats on the 18 lbs loss!

I know how you feel, I adjusted my goal weight a while back because I was loosing and looking at how the weight was sitting on my body (I sometimes used to look at others who were 5'2" at my goal weight thinking I would look the same but it doesn't because everyone has a different body type, etc.).

I'm 5'2" and currently 123 lbs. When I first joined the site I made a goal weight of 120lbs but I think I'm going to end up adjusting it to 110-115 now.

I personally think you already look great with where you're at now. Just remember though that 5 - 9 lbs loss (to get to your goal weight) is going to be a pretty big difference on someone that is 5'1 3/4. Maybe wait once you get at your goal weight then decide if you want to go lower or not?

As long as you're at a healthy BMI and are satisfied with how you look & feel, then that's all that matters.

Weight Loss Uncommon Reasons to Lose Weight Jul 10 2008

101

A few of mine:

- I already picked out a halloween outfit for this year and I want to enter a halloween costume contest and look good. I don't even have to win! haha

- I've gotten a few comments saying I look a little like those twins on tv, tia and tamera. Just out of curiousity, I want to see if I get more of these comments once I loose a bit of weight lol

- I don't have that much weight to loose but I want to see if I can really achieve this goal! I'll feel SO much better just knowing that I stayed determined and did it once I do.

- maybe not be so shy around people

- to encourage my family to start to eat healthier

- I've secretly always wanted to learn how to dance hip hop, breakdancing. And to do the windmills & flares you not only have to be strong but it would make it easier to have less weight to hold up. I think for one of my rewards for loosing the weight, I'm going to sign up for dance classes.

- of course so I can be healthier but to also have tons of more energy.

I'm also a 5'2"-er here & was trying to get to 124lbs for my short term goal by July 11th. I'm still getting over a little flu bug so I haven't been really tracking my weight for this week. I'll have to reset my goal a bit once I get back on my good eating track again.

ugh an evil STYE! I used to get them all the time.

Best thing you can do is to not pop it. Also for 10-15 minutes, 2 or 3 times a day, press a warm wash cloth against it. I read that it makes the white blood cells work faster in fighting off the infection. It cleared up much faster last time when I did this compared to when I used to pick at it, rub it, and try to pop it. lol

My stats are pretty close to yours.

Height: 5'2"
Starting Weight: 131 lbs.
Current Weight: 125 lbs.
Long term goal: 110 - 115 lbs.
Short term goal: 4th of July is this weekend (and I might be tempted by the nice smellin hot dogs! :() so I'll set my goal a bit lower. I want to loose atleast 1 lb. by July 11th.

yuss, I don't know your age, bodytype or anything but 78 lbs for your height is considered a dangerous weight :S

Motivation "How Do you Stay so Thin?" Jun 28 2008

I haven't gotten the "oh you look so skinny!" saying yet from anyone but it's because I've only lost 5 lbs. I don't have much weight to loose so I doubt it'll be that noticeable with clothes on anyhow.

I have this process of slowly cutting back on different stuff that I did that I knew was really unhealthy but just couldn't stop doing so before. At the beginning of the whole dieting, I worked out a lot so I could see the pounds melting away--I got a bit more motivated from this. Once that happened, I started dropping little unhealthy habits one at a time...

- no more ketchup!! (I'm obsessed with it! The salmonella outbreak also helped with this :S)

- I started to actually pay attention to serving sizes.

- stopped eating fast food (mcdonalds, burger king, wendy's). I still eat out occasionally at restaurants but not nearly as much as I used to.

- stopped getting 2nds! (ughhh so hard to do! But after the start of counting my calories, I realized this was where I was hurt the most)

- My latest one was to once again stop drinking coca-colas. I stopped for a year or so but recently started back up with them. At restaurants I made it a habit to say coke or pepsi when the waitress asked what I wanted to drink. I try to just order a glass of water now. (I mostly do this so that my skin stays clearer too)

But isn't it so ironic that the ONE year that I don't make my new year's resolution "To loose weight!" I actually start to loose weight! haha

I don't know, I actually love being mistaken for being 4 or 5 years younger than I actually am and I'm only 20 years old Lol The only time when it annoys me is when I walk into a store and the 'welcomers' will say hello to the adults ahead of me but not to me because I look like a little kid haha it doesn't happen that often though. Once I get a bit older, I know I'll love it even more.

OoOooo a hair cut! Wish I wasn't so afraid of getting one. I wear my hair in a ponytail most of the time. I occasionally wear my hair down.. I wonder if on those days I look a little older?

20 yrs old

Height: 5'2" - small frame

Currently 126 lbs. My weight is mostly on my mid section and thighs

Ultimate Goal weight: 110 - 115 lbs.

Daily calorie intake: about 1200

I exercise about 3 times a week by either walking/jogging or mountain biking. I think soon I'm going to bump up my exercises a bit in difficulty and amount of time I spend doing them. I usually mostly walk/jog for about 2 hours each session, twice a week and about once a week I bike between 1 - 2 hours.
