The Lounge PRK Eye surgery Feb 23 2009

I had PRK done in my left eye and Lasik in my right.  The lasik eye healed in about a day and had no pain.  I had pain in my left eye and for a long time my vision was like looking through frosted glass.  After the first 30 days, and with eye drops for dryness, it was much better and only light sensitive.  It's been over a year now and it has made a world of difference and well worth the pain and discomfort.  My eyesight is incredible and I don't have to deal with glasses or contacts anymore.

Just finished day 5.  Killer.  My body aches, but in a good way.  I'm certain it will banish weight because you sweat a ton...

I made it to day 3 of BFBM yesterday and today, if I can talk my muscles into it, will be day 4.  I really think this is Jillian's best DVD yet but it definitely kicks your butt and abs and hamstrings...I mean when jumping rope is the "cool down" exercise, you know you're in for it...the shred is a walk in the park comparatively...

I have so many thoughts as I catch up this post...so here they are:

  1. Mandi won't maintain her weight loss because her husband will sabotage her and she will let him.
  2. I think they do weigh in on the scale but if you notice, the same earrings will be worn week after week...Kelly on Season 5 did the same dumb thing.  I think all the crying is real and some people look shocked.  Alternatively, they may weigh in behind the scenes but the contestants may not see their number until they're on the elephant scale.
  3. We only like Carla compared to Joelle.  She and her silver bullet spew would have gotten to us eventually.
  4. Ron from Brown Team, Aubrey from Yellow Team or Laura from Green Team ought to be next to go.  All three are big cry baby whiners.  Ron has 400 other obese children at home and to all of whom he has to prove that he can finally lose the weight.  Aubrey needs a hormone patch.  She seriously has no excuse to keep crying at this point.  Laura is just afraid of Tara.  Otherwise, she would be sititng on her FA doing NOTHING.
  5. Obviously there's no rule about water weight.  Personally, I don't blame them.  It's part of the game.
  6. Finally, despite the whining, I am surprised that no one has commented on how hot Ron is...

Oh no, I hated Vicky from that first challenge where her husband had to tell her to clap for the other contestants...

I feel like this day may never end and as soon as I get home, I am going to be with Jillian banishing my fat and boosting my metabolism.

I am in so much pain...

Bob is always involved in how his team votes.  It worked well for him when competing against Kim, but that's is because she was too busy worrying whether or not her team liked her (and they didn't.)

Jillian can play the game as well as anyone else and while Bob gives her a run for her money, she should have told her team to send home Dane because (a) he doesn't speak and has no baby drama and (b) he is a bigger threat.  But I think Jillian thought that her team would stick to their guns better than they did.  Helen & Shannon were the only ones with spine enough to say that at the end of the day, they knew Bob's team would vote based on gameplay.  No doubt that Jillian encourages her team to water up if they have immunity.  Felipe & Sione did when they had immunity.  It's not damaging, it's just gameplay.

You don't have to be a Vicky to get to the final four, but I think it was stupid to send home Blaine.  In the time he's been home, he's only lost an additional 20 lbs.  Please.  That's ridiculous.  His wife has no baby weight but he can't lose weight?  Put down the fork folks.

The only team I like this year is the blue team-Felipe and Sione.  They seem like nice guys.  I cannot stand the constant crying of the yellow team.  Did Aubry not know that if she went on the show she would have to leave her family?  I don't like the green team either.  The one who has been on the ranch all along(Tara or Laura?) reminds me of Vicky.  The purple and pink teams are ok.  I don't like the dad on the brown team.  I like the son, but I think he is fighting a losing battle with his dad as his partner.

Agreed! I love Felipe & Sione.  They're hard workers and no BS.  As much as Tara tries to be tough, no one can touch Vicky when it comes to the Bit*hiest Loser on campus.

Mike is totally in an uphill battle with his dad as a partner, but I think the dad will go home next.

And WHAT IS UP with the constant boo-hooing of the yellow team?  You're right!  Of course you're going to leave your family & kids and Aubrey's only been without her family for 2 weeks.  Is she kidding me?  With that many kids, she should consider it a vacation.

Mandi didn't put forth any effort last week.  I think she consumed tea and asparagus all week to lose 6 pounds...

Let's face it - lots of important people in your life sabotage you.  That's why having a support network is so important.  For me, it's my best friend.  She keeps me motivated and won't let me Joelle on her!

All Kristin needed to do was pee to lose weight.  Let's face it - she loaded up on the agua.

I'm blaming my steady weight on water retention and too much Fiber One.

I still like Kristin & Tara best, too.  I also like Helen's cut-the-bull attitude.

What did you think of Mandi's husband?  He didn't make eye contact one time with Mandi or the camera.  Honestly, he didn't sound very supportive to me.  I think Jillian was right that he and the kids were a huge distraction because you know she didn't spend all night in the gym to make up for her LCW.

But what I really don't get is how Aubrey feels she has the right to be the most vocal in the elimination discussion.  She just irks me.  So does Laura.

It's common practice if you have immunity to load up on water before the weigh in so that you have an even bigger (perceived) number on the scale the following week.  It's a safeguard.  Tara did it twice already...

Good point re: week 2 and Aubrey.  I hadn't taken that into consideration.  Although, she only lost 2 pounds at home.  I am wondering how much (albeit healthy) food she's packing away in the Campus Kitchen.  Extra calories is extra calories even if it's "healthy."

Okay, so I was just on the Today Show website (mostly to see if my question to Jillian had been posted) and saw that Matt Lauer interviewed Joelle today.  If you haven't watched the interview, it's totally worth it.

They're still not friends and apparently, the week that Joelle threw up her goose egg, she had left the ranch to vote in the presidential election, which  would be understandable had she not "lost" the absentee ballot given to the contestants on the ranch.  So, in order to fly home, vote and return, she had to have lost at least a day on the ranch and she most likely Aubrey'd her food.

That woman said in her interview that she "OWNS" the 60 lbs she lost, but I don't think her brain weighed 60 pounds and her mind looks like the only thing missing.

Weight Loss Is my calorie counting obsessive? Feb 10 2009
15:15 (UTC)

I count everything with the exception of your negative calorie foods like celery.  But yes, I count all the packets and measure everything out so that I know exactly where I am and what I need to burn and what I can expect to burn.  It also keeps me honest.  I am more accountable to myself and then, when I do eat something I shouldn't (like almost anything at a Mexican restaurant) I am keenly aware of it when I enter it into CC and the next time we go to a Mexican restaurant, I find it's easier to avoid the chips, pile on the salsa and skip cheese, sour cream and guac.

I don't think it's obsessive, I think it's observant and a good tool for aiding your weight loss.

It also makes you rethink 100 calorie pack foods!  Afterall, who would want to waste 100 calories on crap food when you could have a handful of almonds or a giant salad vs. Oreo waifers?

Finally down two of the pounds of my 4 pound sinful weekend weight gain.  So, like Joelle, I upped the intensity last night.  I completed Jillian's Banish Fat DVD and although I'm a little sore, it was intense and I loved it.  I had to have sweated out at least one of those two pounds lost.

Additionally, like Aubrey, I did good on food and passed on a glass of wine last night...

Your fall from sin- I have you beat.

No, what you have is me starving again.  I am working very hard to stay motivated this week, but apparently all my eating has exhausted me.  I would kill for a reuban right now...I suppose I could have just the sauerkraut.

I am going to slug back more water and green tea and stare blankly at my can of V8 Low Sodium...

I guess that is what makes her "Desperate."  I did love that she did boot camp.  I feel like quitting every morning...What I need to quit is my laziness.

Did you hear that Jillian's going to be on the Today show and you can post questions for her to answer here???  I'm trying to think of a good question now.  Suggestions???

I'm going to need my own A&E Intervention.  My boss came in and asked how I did on my diet this weekend (because he's dieting, too.)  I told him that my long sweater this morning designed to cover my eating should be a clue.

I have had some Fiber One cereal with soymilk as my punishment treat for new weekend and in combination with my black coffee, I should be one good colonic away from fitting into my clothes. Tongue out

Want to know what's not hilarious?  My Aubrey/Joelle weekend of sin.  Let me break it down for you:

1. Friday night - wine

2. Saturday morning - pancake breakfast

3. Saturday lunch - hotdog with kids

4. Saturday dinner - sushi & sake

5. Sunday breakfast - egg beaters (only good thing I did all weekend)

5. Sunday lunch - hamburger & fries

6. Sunday dinner - spaghetti with meat sauce (beef, veal & pork) with wine

And given that I upped my intensity a la Joelle and didn't do good on food a la Aubrey, I have put on an additional 4 lbs!

I have newfound resolve for this week because Valentine's day is this Saturday and I refuse to go out feeling this fat.

The plan: Jillian butt kickings daily and more time logging on CC to count everything.

OMG did anyone else fall from grace?

I read in another post that an orgasm burns 150 calories.

Here's 150 extra calories in today's target consumption.  Even if you don't smoke, you'll need a cigarette.

Instead of counting the pounds on the scale, I am going to start referring my weight loss as "one of Laura's earrings" or "all of Joelle's extensions."  Ooh, but personal favorite is "I've lost ten affirmations already today."  Translated: 0 pounds.

I still enjoy referring to my monthly friend as "Vicky's here."

How can I not when you look so hot?

Okay, seriously, in the transformation shot people usually look nicer than they did on day one.  WTF with Joelle's "after" shot?  She looks like she just escaped from someone's basement dungeon.

Now, look at Carla's:

She just turned to the side!  Seriously???  I thought she lost enough weight that she wouldn't have to just turn to the side.
