I read somewhere, that it is actually your hunger signals to your brain that changes, not your stomach size. Like asha said, you can not permanently change the size without surgery, but you can "retrain" it's signals. I can't remember where I read it, but I am sure you could google it.

I agree with you. I used to be a major stresser. I would want to cry if I wasn't losing, and I was weighing myself all the time. While, not thinking about it at all will cause me to gain weight, I follow a different plan. I spend a few days writing down everything I eat, and making sure it falls in my calorie limit, as well as being balanced and healthy. Then I eat that same day of food over and over until I am sick of those foods, and then I switch. While some people may not be able to stand repetative meals, I have found that it takes a way a ton of the stress. I don't have to worry about what I am eating, because I already know how many calories are in my day's total. I also don't freak out if I don't lose as much as I had hoped one week, because I either know that I am in my limits and I am probably bloated (or I know that I ate a few things out of the norm :)) It is much easier for me to enjoy my life and my new healthy changes, when I am not constantly obessing about calories and food and weightloss.

This is not really healthy, but if you really want to gain weight cheaply without a lot of cooking. Raman. It helped me gain about 20 (unwanted) pounds, when I was too poor to buy quality food. It's harder to lose weight poor, then it is to gain.

Hello ladies!

Another friday. Here's my stats

SW 170 ish (I had a bad scale)

CW 168.2

GW 145

23 pounds to go! I'm pretty happy at my weight loss, however, it had to have been water weight or something because I binged last night and woke up a pound lighter? Weird. Although my "binge" Only took me up to 1800 calories.

This is getting really hard and confusing.. I don't know if I'm eating enough, or too much, and honestly after only a month I am extremely sick of counting all my calories. Luckily my true goal was to be a healthier person, so if all else fails, I'll still have acheived that!

WELCOME KYLIE AND EMMA!!

Ok ladies I weighed myself at the gym and I was 166 which was actually less than I thought I was, although I think maybe I just lost muscle weight because I stopped doing strength training.  Either way, I would like to get under 160 in the next 4 weeks.

Today I did a cardio circuit of stairclimber, elliptical and stationary bike for 45 minutes.  It was kind of boring, but I least I did it.  Does anyone else's feet go numb on the elliptical?  Any info on why that happens?

Do any of you like to do sauna sessions?  I go for 15 minutes after my workout - it's supposed to burn more calories, but it's also good for your skin.  You might want to try it if your gym has one.

My feet go numb as well. On the eliptical and on my gazelle. I don't know why it happens, but I've found that wiggling my toes, or running on my toes and then switching to my heels works pretty well. Basically make sure your feet are moving around some and you should feel some relief!

lol. I just wrote a huge reply on back ground and goals and issues.. but lo and behold I hit preview and it took me to the main forum page :( So I'll ask my quick question, and re-write the rest later.

I tagged this thread so I don't have to go searching everytime.. but I don't know where to go to get my tagged threads!!!

Hi ladies! I'm so happy to see other tall women on here, it doesn't happen often :) I'm 5'10 currently 170 and would like to get somewhere in the 145-150 range. I've been on this site for two weeks and haven't lost a pound.. so I could really use some motivation!

I never forgot the time I was on a diet in HS and I told my mom that I thought I finally looked as good as she did when she was in HS. She proceeds to tell me "I was never as fat as you back then" My mom is for sure my source of my need to be skinny. However, now that I'm adult and can push past the pain I realize that my mom was having trouble letting go of her past (she gained a lot of weight through time) And was jelouse that I was still young and thin. It's hard to realize that parents are people too! I love my mom, but I just don't talk to her about things like that anymore, because if I'm not going to get a "good job" it's not worth the effort.

On the clothes side of this convo, I'm one of those people who has a hard time throwing things away. So I pack all my old clothes (fat and skinny) and put them in the back of my closet. I'm hoping I'll diet enough to wear my skinny clothes again, and I'm hoping to eventually have another baby and need my fat clothes again! There are good reasons for needing larger clothes other then falling off the bandwagon :) this is really one of those situations where you are the only one who knows what's right. sit all alone in the quiet and listen to your gut. It will tell you what to do.
