Use your own judgement. If it looks ok and smells ok, chances are its gonna be fine. I had a jar of tomato ragu that was 1/2 full and kept it in my fridge for about 3 or 4 months just using some every so often. I get free food from my work if it goes out of date, its fine. I do have a line, obviously, but my policy is, if its not mouldy, its fine. I draw the line at mould. Whatever happened to just using common sense and judgement to tell if somethings gone bad? Far too often people throw out perfectly good food just because of a number. |

Aussie!! Because they don't test on animals and it smells nice. It doesn't actually feel chemically or detergenty like most shampoo. I like the 3 Minute Miracle for damaged hair. Its awesome. |

Original Post by noonecared: Don't worry about surgery, I had the one on my wrist removed under anaesthesia, it was no big deal. It didn't hurt much after, and it never came back. It's so worth it! ...definately better than draining. Mine just came right back after that too. |

You're definately not alone! I've never been overweight or gained weight quickly or anything, but I have them too, on my bum :( I like the rest of me though so it doesn't bother me too much. There's not much you can do about it except give it time and use oil or oily lotions (although I don't know how much this actually works)... unless you wanna go down the surgery route but again not sure how effective this is. I knew a guy who had laser treatment on his face for scarring and the results were much worse than what he started out with! That cost him thousands and now his face is permenantly red. He wishes he'd never done it. I know this doesn't always happen but it is a risk. I'd just learn to accept it. Most of the girls I know have them on some part of their body... |

Mmmmm... I know the ones you mean. M&S white chocolate cookies are THE BEST. Given that Millies cookies are 200 I always guessed them to be about 350, just to be on the safe side. Y-u-m. |

| Foods | Favorite / Healthiest Nuts (or Nut Butters) | Nov 06 2008 21:47 (UTC) |
|
I've got a thing about nut butters too. Hazelnut is my favourite. I like to mix it with dairy-free chocolate spread and its just like nutella :) Almond is good too. I think macadamia and walnut are the highest cal. I haven't seen them in any shops here though. I've tried almond (2nd favourite) and cashew as well. The cashew was a bit too... intensely cashewy!! But nice with jam. |

I don't know any other vegans! I've only ever met one. She was my manager at my old job, a few years ago. When I went veggie I was 10 and the only veggie I knew... since then I've "turned" two of my friends :) Nobody was supportive or unsupportive, it was just how I am. Being vegetarian is so effortless and common these days that it is barely even a "thing". But they really don't get my new-found veganism. I get no support from my friends for being a vegan. They think its stupid. My family weren't very happy about it either, but at the end of the day its YOUR decision, your life, your diet, your body. Nobody else's choice. I've been cooking for myself since I was about 14 anyway so I never ran into home-cooked meals issues. But now my mum is asking things like.... "I'm making soup - do you want me to use vegan stock?" Weird since she never cooked for me before, but its nice. I do get hassled and mocked by my friends at work though, but I stand by my decision! It's not like I'm asking THEM to do it! |

OO oo I want to play! I only have 2 really. 1) Being "too nice". Major turn-off. I have a guy friend who is like this.. its all, "hey gorgeous" and treating me like I'm an innocent, weak, defenseless little girl. This includes not letting me pay for anything (like, I have a job too you know) and TRYING TO CARRY MY SHOPPING BAGS. That really annoys me. They really aren't heavy! And..... I worked hard 6 days a week to earn the money for that stuff I just bought. I want to carry my own purchases! 2) Facial hair and ponytails. Its just wrong.
....maybe its just me but I kinda like a bit of "man-odor". Not really bad BO, but a nice masculine sweat smell. Its manly. My old boyfriend could be lifting slabs and bags of cement all day at work and not smell AT ALL. I hated it! |

Gibbit: me too! I am going to be in work dressed up in a very skimpy ladybird costume. I hope I can pull it off without looking too fragile. What I wish to gain: My DDs back! They seem to be resisting weight gain My butt to fill my jeans again Be able to eat when I'm hungry and not when I "should" Not weigh and measure food/drink Look forward to going out drinking instead of being afraid of all the alcohol calories Curves To be able to challenge the guys at work to strength-related competitions again! To not count calories, to eat what I want, when I want, to not think so much about food, to not plan, to be carefree, to be strong, to be fertile, to be stress-free... TO BE BACK TO NORMAL. |

Haha this is my favourite topic of all time. I think have have too many conversations involving genitalia. I call it my fud as well! Me and the OP seem to be the only ones.... For guys, if its a conversation about sex, its (rhymes with) sock or wick. If its just in general, its penis or knob. Actually has anyone said knob yet? When my wee brother was young he and my mum called it his "toot" Hahahaha... |

Hey. I went through this as well. I can totally relate with the feeling sick thing, it was like this horrible dull dreading feeling almost. It used to really get me down and it would be on my mind aaaall the time. You do get over it. If you really were bi you would know, honestly. I know you probably can't imagine it just now but in time you'll forget about it. Good luck |

Aww, am I the only one working? I finish at 10pm but we are allowed to dress up at work so I am going as a ladybug. Which involves a corset, black and red tutu, stripy stockings, high heels... yeah its quite slutty. But its halloween! The one night when its allowed, even encouraged! So I intend to take full advantage!!
...Also I'm trying to pull my supervisor... |

| Vegetarian | How long have you been a vegetarian? WHY? | Oct 13 2008 23:50 (UTC) |
10 |
I turned veggie 10 years ago when I was 10. I think this is why I can't understand people who say "oh my god, i could never give up meat"... its just been so long, I don't even think about it, in restaurants, it just doesn't even register that there are meat options.... When people post on here about having problems with being a new veggie I just think, "huh? Whats the big deal?" Like...... almost all food is veggie safe. Its just so easy, it requires no thought whatsoever! I turned vegan about 3 weeks ago because I realised how hypocritical it was being a veggie and being "against" animal cruelty, yet still supporting the whole industry by buying dairy products. Vegetarianism just wasn't gonna cut it anymore. Its ok. The only thing I am finding hard is not being able to eat cakes, cheese sandwiches, chocolates, cookies, COTTAGE CHEESE!!!!! And pretty much all food. I work in a food shop and being a veggie is easy coz you can still eat 90% of the food in the shop. Being vegan means you can eat about... 15%. And 10% of that is fruit and veg. Not so easy, or fun. But I'm gonna stick with it anyway. I'm hoping its gonna get easier. |

Lala - thanks I guess when you put it like that, it's not so scary.. I think it was just because I don't weigh myself, so it seemed like a huge amout to have jumped, but I guess it had been a long time since my last weigh-in. I'm back up to about 2300 now I'm feeling better. |

Hi! I don't think I've posted in this thread before but I'm not new at all! But I am scared!!!!!! I had a weigh-in at the doctor yesterday, and I was thinking I might have lost a bit, since I had been on holiday and not counting which resulted in me (I'm pretty sure) undereating. And then I was sick, so I wasn't eating too much then either, although I was getting to or just over 2000 most days. But when she weighed me, from last time I saw her about 6 weeks ago....... I GAINED 10 pounds! 10!!!!!!!!!! That's A LOT. I'm trying not to freak out. Its weird coz I felt the same weight, just a bit more muscly, before the weigh-in, but now I feel HUGE. I'm tryin to tell myself its all in my head, but at the same time, I have gained 10 pounds... ahh xx |

I've done it 3 or 4 times and have gone all dizzy and sick every time. They had to lie me down and put a fan on me. It was so embarrassing. It doesn't put me off doing it though, but they said I've not to come back for 2 years I was various weights when doing it so I don't think it made much difference in my case, also I had plenty to eat and drink. The frustrating thing is, I know its all psycological!! As soon as I see the needle or she starts wiping my arm with the cleaning swab thing, I start feeling awful! I don't know how to get over it! |

Nothing fancy here, but I love my wee job and I wouldn't give it up for the world. I work in the only shop in my little village. Usually just serving people at the till. Sounds boring, but a lot of the customers are the same peope, day in, day out, and my neighbours, people I went to school with, friends etc. It makes me feel like part of the community when I get to the bus stop and folk talk to me because the recognise me. What can I say, I'm easily pleased. Edit: Oh and we get tons of free food. And to set fire to stuff. |

It doesn't bother me, in fact I quite like it actually! When I was going on holiday a few weeks ago I had to get searched going through the beeper thing at the airport and the woman went, "What age are you, darlin?" and I said, "20.." And she goes, "aww, you look 5." I didn't know what to say so I just went, "haha! Em... thanks?!" |

| Weight Gain | New favourite foods? Coping skills? | Oct 02 2008 03:03 (UTC) |

Haha, oh my god, I could have just written that whole thing. I'm the exact same, on everything. I think the worry about enjoying eating high cal, indulgent stuff and getting too "used to it" is a common worry. I also set myself challenges to eat things which I have been depriving myself of for so long. Usually its certain chunky chocolate bars or pastries which have been too scary or high cal. But I'm working my way through them. Although, I'm finding that most of them aren't as amazing as I remember. Oh well. Anyway, to answer your question, my new favourite food is peanut butter. I was scared of it for so long but everyone on CC seems to love it so much that I thought, I'll face my fear and buy some. Now I can't go a day without it. My new favourite creation: Toasted high-fibre multiseed pitta stuffed with peanut butter and warm sliced banana. Or melted dark chocolate and banana. Comfort food |
