| I agree hockeygirl44, I just want to be able to do that...Almost there! But I have to admit, it's hard not to be preoccupied with the numbers. I think it has to do with that whole body dismorphic thing, like being overly critical or yourself, or not being sure if what you're seeing is what everyone else is. I know most people feel "fatter" than they really are...so I try to check out the numbers and look in the mirror and "see" what I should be seeing.
28 yrs. old- 5'6 and 1/2-close to 5'7. I think I'm medium frame, but my fingers do overlap a bit with the finger trick, so I don't know. But I am finally in the 130's(139 as of this morning). It has been years!! I would like to be 135, I think that would be ideal for me (where I was post-kids but pre-metabolic slump), and if I can maintain it...even better. In my opinion anywhere between 125-140 and toned, is pretty ideal for medium frame average height (5'5-5'7) women. |

| My highest (that I know of) was about 164...just a few months ago, but had fluctuated between that and the 150's for a long time- at least the last few years of college until early this year (Although I didn't know how heavy I was- I never really weighed myself).
Now I'm about 141...my goal is 135. I feel so much better, and I'm glad that I finally decided to pay attention to my body. |

| Well honestly...I have only been doing pilates about 3 times a week. I'm still getting over pneumonia I came down with 6 weeks ago. I used to try and jog about a mile/day and do pilates, but that hasn't happened in awhile and since my lungs have been suffering, I haven't been able to substitute any other type of cardio. Once I feel better I will step up the cardio and probably start seeing results. I guess it's unrealistic of me to assume that just eating less would be enough if I do it religiously. | |||

| Thanks for the info. So it's not an actual "plateau"...but it is in a sense for me. I would like to lose overall mass, not just start changing composition. So, I am curious about how to amp up the weight loss part again. I can't eat less calories than I do, so I guess I will have to step up my excercise regime and see what happens. | |||

| That's interesting that you haven't lost any weight yet. I would suspect the beans as well. The idea is to limit the carbs, since beans are pretty packed, that could be limiting your bodies ability to tap into other sources for energy metabolism. I would suggest staying in phase 1, as you obvioulsy aren't losing too fast, which is the reason for the two week limitation (to minimize the stress on your body). The fruit thing is hard, I know, which is why I can't handle that diet. Try substituting the beans for something with less carbs and see how that works...maybe your body just needs more time. | |||

If it were me, and I tend to over-analyze things (just as a caveat), I would wait until I knew he would be getting ready to leave and/or traveling because it gives your message a purpose instead of just "I was sitting alone,pinning away, so I thought I'd see if you still like me too" which is what you are attempting to avoid, even if that's the case. Drop him a line like...have a nice trip (safe trip seem mother like/needy..see analyzing) & call me if you get bored and feel like chatting. Something like that. Light, letting him know you would like to hear from him, but leaving it on his own terms. Then...wait. |
