im new too, so i'll just share what i know and hopefully someone will come shed some light - the only time i've seen success pictures is on someones profile. at times people will post a board saying they've posted success pictures and then i just click on the picture next to their name (currently represented by a ? on ours as we haven't uploaded pictures) and they'll be displayed :) hope this helps somewhat |

totally know how you feel... I work in an office environment of about 1500 people and it seems like every day is someone's birthday, so there is always cake going around.. its easy to say no most days.. but it's tough when they just keep saying 'come on.. just one piece' my willpower can only last so long!! im bad for eating at my desk when i bring my lunch.. and there aren't many places to walk around as it's a semi-industrial area, so i've been bringing sweats and running shoes and going up and down the stairs after i eat.. it's amazing how few people use the stairs - i rarely run in to anyone, and we have a shower that no one uses so if i sweat too much i can hop in and rinse off and prep for the afternoon. i've also bought an under the desk cycler (instride cycle xl) that i use constantly when im working so i'm always burning calories. |

I used to eat a ton of chocolate during my period.. and then I read in Oxygen a few months ago that you're body is actually craving magnesium - so now when i crave chocolate, i have broccoli or a handful of peanuts and i find i'm just as satisfied.. definitely isnt as tasty.. but it works and i consume less calories :) |

I won't be of much help, but I wanted to say congratulations on the 30ish pounds you've lost so far since february - thats awsome! I weight myself daily and my weight fluctuates non stop.. monday i was 205, tuesday i was 203, yesterday i was 206, and today i was 202... i don't do anything differently and my calorie intake stays the same as does my exercising... i try to keep telling myself its normal.. hopefully someones able to shed some light :) |

| Weight Loss | Coffee and weight loss? | Apr 17 2008 14:52 (UTC) |

I've read that the caffine in coffee raises your cortisol levels which can increase belly fat, while the caffine in tea will do the opposite - i've made the switch from coffee to green tea which I know is much healthier for me. |

| Calorie Count | Having issues adding food to my food log | Apr 17 2008 14:45 (UTC) |
1 |
no error message, but i don't get the 'food successfully logged' - i don't find i'm doing anything differently... after doing it 2 - 3 times then it will work. I find the same issue with removing foods - i had added almonds to my log for yesterday but didn't end up eating them, so i went to remove them today, clicked on the x and selected yes to remove.. but when it refreshed, it was still there.. so i did it again, and then it was successful |

| Weight Loss | Starving!!! | Apr 16 2008 22:45 (UTC) |

I find a handful of almonds fills me up for a couple hours after a workout - you've burnt more calories today than you've eaten, so yeah, you're gonna be starving.. maybe have a couple pieces of fruit or some yogurt? also, I've found ever since I started 'eating right', I AM eating constantly.. or almost anyway.. i have my slimfast for breakfast, a fibre bar 2 hours later, a wrap and some carrots for lunch, almonds mid afternoon, an orange an hour later, and then dinner 2 hours later. it's the only way i can reach my 2000 calories a day

congratulations to everyone that has lost weight so far! I must say this site is absolutely amazing - reading the success stories and knowing that there are so many other people out there in the same situation is really motivating - i'm down 3 lbs since Monday - I'm sure most of it is water weight but none the less, any weight loss is good weight loss! good luck all! |

| Weight Loss | The more you care the more weight you gain? | Apr 16 2008 16:38 (UTC) |
|
i don't have space between my thighs, but my collar bone shows prominently and so do my ribs... but I am by no means skinny.. I'm 60 lbs overweight and carry almost all of my weight in my lower body. you're probably just developing a distorted body image.. is the weight you feel you've gained reflected itself on a scale? or do you only notice when you see yourself in a mirror? I know that whenever someone makes a comment about my weight (never directly.. but just about obesity in general) I always 'feel' fatter. I hope that you and your friends go about losing weight the healthy way... and do not look at the hollywood diva's of the world as body role models... |

welcome! I started here this week as well and I am extremely impressed with the site - I've joined other sites where I had to pay for half the information I'm getting here for free.. and the support structure wasn't nearly as amazing as it is here. I'm currently at 202 (down from 205 on Monday.. yay water weight!) and my goal is 156 by the end of the year :) Good luck!!!! |

a co-worker of mine was very overweight, and decided to go on the atkins diet.. she saw that bacon was acceptable... so for a snack, she'd bring in packages of microwave bacon and eat it... "The Atkins Corporation denies that Dr. Atkins' own cardiomyopathy-induced heart attack, hypertension, and blocked arteries had anything to do with his diet" riiiiight |

| Motivation | Weight for different sizes? | Apr 14 2008 22:12 (UTC) |

I knew a girl who wanted to be a size 8 so very badly, she refused to stop losing weight until she reached her goal (and it became unhealthy), even though her body was not structured to fit in to a 'size 8' pant - she ended up losing so much weight in her upper body, she no longer had breasts, and she was still a size 10.. also many companies use vanity sizing to make you think you're wearing a smaller size.. |
