Hello All!!! I'm 28 y/o, 4'11" & currently weighing 190.8. Yes I know, HUGE status. lol! Back on 4/14/08 I weighed in at 204.6 for a weightloss competition here at work. On June 23rd which was 2wks away from the last weigh-in I was down to 187.2. I had lost a total of 17.4lbs in that time. Well I don't know what happened but the last 2 wks of the competition I gained .6 & .8lbs & I was working out so much more & watching calories like a hawk. Well then after that I went on vacation & killed myself by gaining more weight. Cry Well last week I kind of started getting back on track & on Monday evening I weighed myself & had lost 1lb. lol! So far this week I have not worked out but I have been watching my intake & cals. Last night I took my kids to DQ for ice cream & I didn't get anything, not even a bit from theirs. I was proud of myself! This evening when I get home I will workout. I figure these past 2 days were my "resting" days so now I need to kick my butt into gear. I was feeling kind of bad & non-motivated but after reading your posts, I am pumped & so motivated. My bday is in Feb & I would love to be 140 by then so I have 7mos to lose 50.8lbs. Wish me luck!! lol! Good luck to you all & hope to hear from you all soon!! Here are my stats:

BW: 204.6

CW: 190.8

GW: 125.0

I am very sad to report that I gained weight this week Cry.. Never in this competition have I ever gained, the worst I did was stayed the same. I gaine 6/10 of a lb... Went from 187.2-187.8.... I worked out so hard & watched what I ate... The 2 pple that I was trying to beat lost 3.4 & 2.2lbs.. The person in 1st place went & lost 12lbs this wk.. Said he walks 10-12mi p/day 7days a wk... This is the last wk, the 7th is the last weigh-in... I feel like such a failure....

Emmiec-I will definitely put lemon in my water. As a matter of fact I have a bag of them that I hadn't used. Monday is my weigh-in & I will let you all know how I did.

Soontobegrandma-Thanks for the info. Through out the whole competition I have not gained weight. The worst I did was staying the same from one week to the next. My best losses have been 2.8lbs p/wk but that has only been a few times inlcuding last week. Other than that I lose 1.4-2.4lbs p/wk. So I know I'm doing ok, I just wanted to see if I could lose more like everyone else that puts up big #'s.. hehe!

Thank you all for your support, suggestion & comments!!! My puter at home is on the fritz so I will let you all know Monday morning how I did... Good luck to you all & WORK IT! WORK IT! WORK IT!!Cool

What days do you weigh-in? Do you manage to keep it all off for that week? I too am taking bathroom breaks every 10-15mins lol! Some days I have a hard time of making my 1200cals because I drink so much water that when I try to eat I feel a bit sick from being full.. Then I try to eat as much "good" food as I can but still can't hit my 1200... Most mornings I work out for about 50min-60mins but there are days when I can't. I need to do a lot more!!!! Our kids take up a huge part of our time so I try to get in what I can. Plus wit this AZ heat I can't take them out too much or too early if I want to walk but I also can't take them out too late. Also My bed time is around 11p-1am & at times I have insomnia.. I've been waking up at 530am to work out but when I've barely gone to bed at 4am that's a bit hard... Throws my schedule way off..  I get down on myself for not excercising but then I have to stop & think at how much I've lost & lost p/wk then I don't feel too bad bcuz I know i'm doing something right.. hehe

What do you mean me?? You mean WE have women power!!! lol!! We can take these guys... If I can lost 2.8lbs each wk for the next 2wks just as I did last wk I will have lost 23lbs in 3mos. I may not win the competition but I have won a lot more already Wink  & that includes you guys, my new weightloss friends!!! If you can do the same for the next 21dys, 2.8lbs p/wk you will lose 8.4lbs.. I know .5-2lbs is great but if I can do it I know you can too.. I don't own a scale so I don't know where I'm at.. Plus 2wks ago on a Thursday I weighed myself downstairs on the "judges" scale & it said I had gained 2.4lbs.. I weighed myself not even 2mins later on a friends scale & it said I gained 1.8lbs... Then Monday came & I had lost the 2.8lbs... Good luck to you Kekri84!!!!     &nbs p;       HAPPY FRIDAY TO YOU ALL!!!!!!

I do try to watch my sodium intake but I have to admit, in the beginning of the competition I wasn't. I was too busy watching my calorie & water intake & nothing else.. This past month½ is when I really started to crack down on everything. WOW! With that confession I think I scrued myself over in the beginning... Cry

Kaufmkk- 1st off I would like to say a BIG CONGRATS to you on your weightloss!!! WinkOur competition is based on % lost & I'm in 7th place with a loss of 8.5%. 6th place is 8.71%.. The top 3 are 2@13.% & 1@12%. Plus I'm starting to get cramps right now so I don't think this weigh-in is going to be a good one Cry nnnnnooooooo!!!!!!! For our competition each person paid $60 bringing the pot to about $1300, well when the owner found out what we were doing he was so impressed that he said he would match dollar for dollar. He also spread it out to make 10place winners so that when a few people pulled ahead the others (like me) wouln't get discouraged. Isnt that great??!!!

p.s. I have 4 kids not 5 loL! I went back to my original post & saw that I put 5. YIKES!!! I have 4 all under the age of 9...Pretty swell huh? hahaha!!!

For those of you who aren't familiar with my story.. I started this weightloss journey bcuz of a biggest loser competition here at work... I'm in 7th place right now & this is what happened just a few mins ago..

One of the men that is winning me by only .21% (I'm 8.5% weight loss & he is at 8.71%) just said that I will never be able to win his spot. He said he can lose 4lbs in a wk & I cant top that... He also said he can go drink 4-30pks of beer & still win me so to not even try it... I feel like whooping him good but then what he said is kind of true. He does put up 4lb p/wk loss at times & I do good to lose 2.8lbs p/wk. Another thing is that he weighs about 20lbs less than I do so if he does lose a lil he will put up a bigger %... Cry I'm dreading Monday now...

Right now i'm 4'11" & weigh 187 my bra size is 36DD. Since 14yrs old I have been a 34C-36D as years went on. After having my 1st son I went to 38DD & since losing 17lbs I've gone to a 36DD. I dont mind losing the width but I don't want to lose my breasts. Don't get me wrong I'm not the type to flaunt them, I am a married woman but I love them & would hate for them to get smaller... Good luck to you all on your weightloss journey & Congrats to on the weightloss... Cool

Go to "My Account" under your picture click on "Edit Settings" scroll down & right below where it asks for your "Target Daily Calories" it says the following..

To determine your body type, wrap your middle finger and thumb around your wrist.

  • If your fingers overlap, you are a small frame.
  • If your fingers just touch, you are a medium frame.
  • If your fingers do not meet, you are a large frame.

It gives you the option to add this in to your acct settings... Hope that helps!

I so agree with the goal being on the thin side. I did the wrist test & since my fingers don't touch I'm considered to be a "large" frame. Boo!!! Yell Hehe! But yes I am pretty darn short. Congrats to you too!!! Congrats to all of us for wanting a new lifestyle..

Kwudell- My calorie intake @ sedentary level is 1200 cals. With light activity I should be consuming 1450 cals. I did both because from 8-5 i'm at a desk, when I get home It's cleaning up, laundry, spending time with kids & making dinner. I try to excercise in the morning & if I can't, I do it in the evening. There are days that "something" comes up & I don't get any excercise in. On the good days I work out or walk for 1hr in the am & do 1hr cardio in the evening. I also have bad days like today. I worked out this morn till about 7:15 & I had to shower & get ready for work to be here by 8. Needless to say I was almost running late so I grabbed a banana before running out the door. I also did not prepare anything for lunch because I was supposed to go home for lunch but my DD has some kind of eye infection & now my lunch hr is going to be spent taking her to the doc but not till 330. So I ate my banana for breakfast & thank God I had 1 piece of oven roasted turkey in the fridge & bread left over from yesterday. With that I've only eaten 271cals today. Cry I will have to work extra hard at making my meals & packaging them the night before. I know the low cal intake is hurting me more than helping. So wish me luck on preparing ahead of time.

Nautrallyd-Not mean at all. I completely understand what you mean. I heard a few comments where someone was saying to another "I bet you'll be glad when you're able to eat solid food again huh?" Of course that person didn't aprreciate that at all.. Yikes, I stayed away from that storm hehe!

Kekri84-Good luck on the program, sounds like you're doing great!!! We've gone this far & we can do a heck of alot more Cool Push it out girl!!! Get that money! hehe... Thank you for all your responses!!!

Thank you clharr! With what you said my tortoise booty will keep plugging away as I have continued to do. WinkThere are a few men in that are about 290-250 & yes have lost significant weight which I expected & there are also a few females from 250-220 that have done the same. What I don't understand is we're 2½mos into this & they continue to lose 4-8lbs per week. Surprised  I have huge goals & competition or not I will meet them. I'm determined. I did feel like not doing anything this morning but I got my lazy butt up & did my Biggest Loser workout. I was beat afterwards but felt great that I got up & did it. Thanks again!

Thanks Kwudell!!! Ok so here is is.. I'm 4'11" fulltime working mother of 5. I started my weightloss journey mid April & have lost 17.4lbs. So this is where I'm at now...

SW: 204.6

CW: 187.2

GW: 104.6

I know the weightloss seems huge & I don't want to be stick thin but all the calculators I've used said that would be my natural weight & a great BMI. I'm not sure if agree with all that but the closer I get to that goal I will be able to evaluate my body & check with the doc. The main reason I started to lose weight is because of a weightloss competiion here at work. I have a big family & we sure could use the $. Now that I feel & look kinda good I want to & will continue after the competion is long & over. Thanks again ladies for letting me come aboard.

p.s. I also started a conversation in this forum called "water weight"

Thanks for the replies... To be honest I'm in a weightloss competition at work. I am a fulltime working mother of 5 & really need the $. That was my motivation but now that I feel so great & am looking quite nice I have made myself mini goals till I've lost my 100lbs. I know I've been losing a good amount to ensure I don't gain it back & then some but for now I would like to lose more p/wk. I know everyone's body is different & size does matter but some people have lost 6-8lbs per week & I have no idea how it's being done. I know that is not healthy but that $ could have really come in handy for the family. Frown
