I had stitches with my other two babies too because they came out so fast as well and I might just wait until I am healed too. But I will have to see how I feel once I have the baby to determine if I can start working out so soon after birth. Thank you both for your feedback. I will take it slow and listen to my body so that I don't cause more harm to it then the trama of having a baby already did. |

I am looking for a double jogging stroller before my baby is born (Jan 7, 2010)too and I have done some research. I talked to some people who have owned them and they say if you are going to use it for jogging or activities of a faster nature, to make sure that the front wheel can rotate otherwise they don't corner easily. I have also been told that some may have difficulty on dirt or gravel roads and to read reviews of as many as possible to get a full understanding of what they are truly capable of. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy. |

| Fitness | Interval Training on the Elliptical..... | Sep 22 2008 18:37 (UTC) |
1 |
I am currently doing interval training on my eliptical and I don't go for that many minutes at a time. What I do is in blocks of 15 min each. I start running a set RPM for two minutes (my target heart rate zone), increase that to my max HR for 1 minute, slow down to my lowest HR for 2 minutes, and then my max HR for another min. I will alter this depending how winded I make myself, but I do this for 15 minutes total. I try to get at least 5 minutes at my max HR within that 15 mins. I will then do crunches and upper body strength training for 15 - 30 min before I get back on the eliptical for another 15 min. This has helped my lose another 2 inches around my body since I started it. My muscles are also becoming more defined and a lot stronger not like they were when I would run for an hour or more each day. I hope my experience helps you to find what will work best for you. I would recommend getting some ideas from the HIIT workout and modify it to your needs and fitness level. |

| Weight Loss | "Cheat" Days? | Sep 15 2008 20:28 (UTC) |
7 |
I don't have cheat days. I used to give myself cheat days or meals and I always ended up going overboard. I guess I lacked the discipline not to keep indulging. So now I find that if I give myself up to 200 calories a day to eat or drink whatever I want and that works for me. I can have a little bit of sweets everyday that way. I have been doing great with not over indulging anymore and I haven't binged in a long time. But I do however, eat 4-8 servings of veggies and fruits, 3 servings of protein, and 2 servings of whole grains everyday. I drink about 48-64 fl oz of water a day as well. I really congratulate anybody who can have cheat days and have it work for you. That takes a lot of discipline and determination. That in itself is awesome and for those of you who can do that, should be very proud of yourselves. |

msnelson31, I have had a crazy week as well and I haven't been able to post as much as I would have liked to. Congrats on the weight loss though. I sadly haven't lost anymore (yet) but the upside to that is that I haven't gained any weight either. July 21- 148 July 28- 148 I think that I have hit another plateau so I am going to switch up my routine a bit and see if that helps. Any other suggestions to get past this plateau? Thank you. |

Good luck kla5019. You should have lots of fun and burning a lot of calories with all that dancing. That is a great way to lose weight. If you keep up the hard work you will lose that 10 lbs. I have gained 3 lbs in the last couple days but I think that is because I am getting close to the monthly visitor. OR at least that is what I am hoping July 7: 150 lbs GW: 125-130 lbs (Somewhere in there will work for me.) I plan on getting a lot of cardio in this week and some strength training before this weekend when I will be in Vegas. Never been there before and I am a little scared and excited.

Congrats Carol on your weight loss so far and keep up the hard work because you will lose those pesky last two lbs to meet your goal. Congrats Krenren on your weight loss as well. I am so happy for you and yes I would love to create a new goal to finish losing the rest of our weight. I think that it is a great idea. Everybody in our group has been so great with support and motivation. I am very appreciative to you all, Thank you. I did good for this weekend as well, besides having hayfever allergies and getting an eye infection that is. I did not gain any weight but I did lose 1 lb which surprises me for how much I ate and drank. So I am down 9 lbs since I started this challenge and down 16 lbs since I started on CC. I have also lost 4 pants sizes. The biggest change that I have noticed about my body is my muscles becoming more defined and stronger. Now if I could lose more of my baby weight off my belly, I would be so happy. I know that I can do it, it just takes time and lots of exercise, lol. Here is my plan for today: B: cereal bar and coffee L: noodles and low fat low sodium ham D: Salad and veggies S: Peanuts and fruit E: 90 min eliptical, 45 min total body, 30 min stretching. |

I did see some results on the scale. I lost 1.5 lbs and I have increased the level of intensity with weights. From when I first started working out, I had a hard time doing so much but now I can run an hour longer without getting tired, I can lift heavier weights for more reps, and not to mention how much more energy I have. How has everybody else improved? I think that if we think back to when we first started working out, how we felt and what we were limited in doing. Then compare that to where we are all at now and realize just how far we have come. I did a complete 180 from the way I used to be. What do you guys think about your improvements? |

Good Morning Everybody, How are you all doing? I am doing great just really tired after the day I had yesterday. It was so hot in my house and I was trying to do cardio but had to stop, it was too hot. I thought that I was going to pass out from being so hot and I drank close to 1/2 gallon of water yesterday. I didn't get the workout in that I wanted to or planned but I did go and buy an AC unit last night, so I hope that helps with cooling down the house. So here is my plan today to make up for yesterday: B: coffee and cereal Keep up the hard work everybody and just think, we only have 3 days after today until the 4th :( |

I did reach my smaller goal to burn at least 3500 cals. I actually ended up burning around 5500 cals total. I did that by swimming, mowing/yard work, running, walking, and circuit training. I am sorry to hear about your weekend Luckynumb. I completely understand when family is around and how they cook because my family is the same way. They also love to cook with butter or oil and lots of potatoes and pastas. I have started to bring some of my own foods like fresh veggies and fruits so that I have something healthy to eat when I am around my family. Here is my plan today: B: Coffee and cereal bar L: Veggie Salad D: Fish and fruit S: Peanuts and fruit E: 30 min intense cardio, 60 min total body, 45 min stretching Good luck everybody and keep up the good work. |

Good Afternoon everybody, My morning has been going great so far. I am on track with my eating and exercise. I just got done running 1.5 miles on my lunch break. I feel so good right now. How are you all doing today? Good I hope. I have big plans this weekend to get some intense workouts in. I am going to burn at least 3500 cals over this weekend but my goal is to burn closer to 7000 cals. Wish me luck. Here is my plan today: B: Coffee L: Hotdog D: Shrimp and broccoli S: Skittles (They tempted me), apple, and dry roasted no salt peanuts E: 90 min eliptical, 60 min circuit training, 30 min intense stretching, and maybe some lower body weights (depends on how I am feeling). I now finally have Internet at home so if I get off track or need motivation, can I count on everybody to push me and help motivate me? I might really need some help this weekend if I don't stay on track. I would really be grateful and I will help you all out as well. Have a great weekend and good luck. |

Luckynumb, I knew that I was going to start mine because I gained 4 lbs in two days and then it started. It should be over Friday so I will weigh myself again to see how much water retention I still have. I tend to hold in a lot of water around that time of month, which bums my out too. You will find out soon enough but I am sure it will be alright. You will succeed to lose the weight, I know you will. Just keep up your hard work and we will all keep you motivated whenever you need help. |

Kren, that sounds like me last weekend when I first started too. I had cravings for fried chicken and chips though and I ate my fair share of them. I swam most of the calories off though. Here is my plan for today: B: Coffee Exercise: 90 min Cardio, 60 min walking, 45 min Upper body, 30 min Stretching I didn't get a good workout in last night due to a migraine headache so tonight I am going to push my body to a new level. I beleive it is ready to increase weights and cardio. Good Luck today and stay motivated everybody. |

Welcome Keileen and we would be happy to have you join our group. I am not on a strict diet unless I make it that way but your input would be very good. I tend to not eat the way I should all the time or the way I plan my meals. I somehow manage to stay within my calorie intake for the week though. I am 27 and I weigh about 148 lbs(or I will once the monthly visitor is gone, water weight :| ) at 5'4". My goal weight is 142 lbs by the 4th and 135 lbs before July 18, which is my 1st time to go to Vegas. So any help and motivation that we could give to each other will only benefit us all. Good luck and again, welcome. |

I am glad to hear that we all want to keep this going. I have also learned so much from all you ladies and you keep me motivated so Thank you all. My sunburn is getting a little better but I think that it is going to start peeling soon even with all the aloe gel I have been rubbing on it boohoo. I would have liked to at least get a tan out of all the pain I have gone through but oh well. I have 10 lbs to go before the 4th still and I am stepping up my exercise routine and getting more inventive with my eating. I am trying to avoid some foods and replace them with a variety of foods that I haven't eaten for some time, like squash. So here is my plan today so far: B: coffee and apple Exercise: 45 Min weights, 60 min cardio, 30 min stretching (yoga type) Good luck all and keep up the good work outs. |

| Morning!
I too have a really bad sunburn. Mine covers my entire back and is about as red as a fire engine. Even putting any aloe on it makes me crawl up the wall in pain. Why it is so bad is because of being exposed to the sun for three days in a row; one burn on top of another OUCH! So my working out days have come to a complete stop until I heal, which sucks. Excuse my language. I would like to still have our little group even after the 4th to help keep everybody motivated. What does everybody else think? Here is my plan today, B: Apple and coffee L: oatmeal D: Chicken and veggies S: Orange E: walking back and forth down the hall with no bending or twisting. I hope this heals fast so I can get back to my regular workouts. Good luck everybody and keep up the good work. |

Good Morning Everybody. Congrats on the weight loss luckynumb. I wish I could say that but unfortunately I have gained about 4 lbs in two days, but I think it is because my monthly visitor is getting close. I am feeling really bloated right now and I can't stand it. I also haven't had enough energy to work out last night or much the night before. I plan on doing something about that today. Here is my plan today, B: Cold Cereal and coffee I am going camping this weekend so I hope to be really active with swimming, running, hiking, fishing, tubing, and so much more. I am going to have so much fun. I hope that all of you enjoy your weekend as well. |

Thank you everybody. I appreciate your help with my questions. I need the muscle mass so that I can burn more calories when I am resting. I will vary how much protein I use in a shake and make sure that I eat foods with higher protein in them as well. Thank you all again, you have really helped me. |

B: Banana, cereal bar, coffee L: Veggie Salad with no dressing D: Red Snapper Fish, Salad, Baked Beans S: Orange, Apple, and green beans E: 60 min on Eliptical, 60 min walking, 45 min upper body strength training, and 30 min stretching Keep up the good work everybody. |

Thank you krenren for the tip. I will have to try it and I will also try the low calories weeks instead of trying to watch my calories for every day. I will still keep track of my cals during the week to maintain my goals and do my best on the weekends. I can't believe that the 4th is just around the corner. I would still like to lose 8 lbs before then but I don't want to do it unhealthily. But I will try to lose 2 lbs per week still, which would be 6 lbs before the 4th. I am going to increase my exercise especially on the weekends, since that is when I tend to eat more food. Everybody keep up the good work and good luck. |

Krenren77 and Desiree, I too have great weeks while I am at work but on the weekends, Uh Oh! The food is just so easily available. Thank goodness I have a bunch of fresh fruits and veggies. I am more proud of myself this weekend then the lat few though. I did a lot better with eating this time than I have been doing. I have been off today though. I have already ate more than 1000 cals. I have been really wanting to eat peanuts. They are dry roasted with no salt and I just want to keep eating them. I don't know what it is today. I am really going to have to bring on the cardio to burn off some of these cals. So here is my exercise plan this evening: 90 Eliptical machine, 60 Strength (lower body), 30 min stretching, 60 walk/jog I do hope everybody had a great weekend and I look forward to a successful week with all the motivation from everybody. |

| Lucknumb21,
I am trying calorie counting which is just the same as zig zagging and I have lost four lbs in the last two weeks. It does work as long as you don't do for longer than you need to. I will have to find the article that I read, but it said to do this for 4 weeks, take 2 weeks off, and go back to the 4 weeks shifting calories. Otherwise you can hurt your metabolism. You have to be really disciplined to make sure you stay within your calorie limits. Here is an example of what two weeks look like for me: Week 1 M: 1800 T: 1500 W: 1400 TH: 1400 F:1800 S:1500 S:1500 Week 2 M:1500 T:1250 W:1800 TH:1800 F:1300 S:1400 S:1500 I also don't eat the same foods all the time. If on the lower calorie days I eat nothing but healthy foods, the next day I will eat potatoes or pastas to get my calories from a variety of foods. This way my body doesn't get used to the same kind of food calories all the time. I hope that helps you a little bit. |

I haven't tried that one yet. The one I currently have is a soy protein mix because that is all I could find and that one is very hard to get used to the taste. I had a run in with some frozen yogurt yesterday and I regret it now that I didn't get a workout in before or afterwards. I'll get a good workout in tonight though. It is finally supposed to stop raining and be sunny, so I am getting outside for a long walk/run. Here is my plan today: B: Oatmeal, flax seeds, coffee L: hotdog, celery, and cheese D: Chicken, brussel sprouts, fruit cocktail S: Celery, fruit snacks, and Gum Exercise: 90 min cardio, 60 walking, 30-45 min strength upper body, 20 min stretching.

Carolally, You're welcome. When I drink protein shakes, I try to blend them with bananas and ice in a belnder, which takes a lot of the nasty taste out of it. Don't blend it with oranges though, yuk! I have a hard time stomaching the taste of soy protein shakes as well. I try to drink them as fast as I can. I have even put a little powder in my coffee in the morning over using other creamers and that helps a little bit, but like I said I just try to drink them as fast as I can. I would also suggest talking walks where you haven't walked before. I love walking to explore new areas. That might help in getting you motivated more. When I walk from my house I try to take different paths everytime, if possible to spice up the walk. Do you have anybody that can walk with you to keep you motivated? |

I know that if I walk for too long on my lunch break, I don't feel like exercising when I get home. It is because I am tired due to the over exercising on my lunch break. I also have no motivation to work out if I eat unhealthy foods. They seem to just exhaust me, foods like potatoes, pastas, and breads. I don't know your body type or how long you have been working out so walking that much might not even bother you but for me wlkaing too much puts me in a state of exhaution. I also make a protein shake for myself on days that I feel tired and that helps boosts me up which then I want to work out. Have you tried protein shakes before? |
