Hi All, it's been another frustrating week.  I am having a very hard time keeping up, with exercise, meal planning, logging calories, work, housework, "paying attention" to dh, paying attention to my son, etc.

I only have one son and I work full time.  I'm not sure why this is all so hard for me.  It seems easy (or at least do-able for others).

I keep trying to get up at five to exercise, or stay up til midnight, because there is no time during the day.  I'll have to try the graph (or the spreadsheet) to see why there isn't any time for me (if I can find the time).  In fact, lately all I get to do is have a quick shower in the a.m. and that's all the "me" time I have.  I haven't been able to shave in quite some time (prickly, that's me - not attractive).  OK, so I'm venting and am supposed to be here to offer motiviation, but I'm sorry, I just can't find any right now.

I'm going to try to do what you did Sara "Just do it" and see where it gets me.  That's my goal for the week. Like you, I hope that once I actually do the workout, I'll feel better and then be able to conquer the rest.

Sounds like everyone is still making good progress and I thank you all for your posts, they will help me get back on track.  Once I'm there, I hope to be able to offer the same support.

Sorry, couldn't post yesterday, my laptop at home has a virus, I had to wait until I got to work to use the computer here.  I hope it's fixed soon, it makes me crazy not to have computer access at home!  It wasn't a great weekend.  Fridge broke, so no cold food...ate takeout...

OK, I'm back....actually we got back into town last week, but I didn't post - sorry :(

The day we hit BC I got sick, really dry cough, like asthma or maybe allergies.  It has just wiped me out.

So after a GREAT five week holiday, with lot's of fun, relaxation, etc., work is crazy busy and I'm not feeling well.  Excuses, excuses, but that's why I haven't posted.

I left the wagon back in BC when we went on our RV trip to Ontario, but have jumped back on, albeit, I'm kind of over the edge and hanging on.  I am trying to keep my calorie intake to a reasonable level, but I am so beat, I haven't been tracking and from experience, I know that I go waaaaaaay over when I don't keep track.  I've been craving fruit, and I know that too many grapes and cherries can't be good - bit it beats ice cream.

On a positive note, I started with a trainer, with a group of friends, when we got back in to town.  We are going twice a week, tonight is the third time.  The first time we did lower body and I couldn't walk without feelin it until Friday.  Wednesday we did upper body and core.  I don't think I really worked the upper body properly, as I didn't really feel it afterwards, but man, my abs are still killing me.

So, my twelve week goals:

  1. log calories
  2. check in with Wagon Jumpers at least once per week (it keeps me on track - thanks for the PMs)
  3. work out with trainer twice per week
  4. add another strength training session (45 minutes minimum) on my own
  5. do at least three cardio session on my own each week (also at least 45 minutes minimum)
  6. stop weighing myself every day!

Hope you have a fun conference supersized.  Welcome to Kyashiis and letsgetitstarted.

I've got to try that Wii Fit, I've heard so many good thinks.  Does any one here do DDR?  I've heard it's lot's of fun too.  I'm currently using Turbojam and it was quite effective.  Before I left on vacation, I was doing 45-50 min in the a.m. and then again in the p.m. and I had great results with lost inches, no weight loss though.  However...I did manage to put some of it back on while indulging for five weeks.  I wish I could keep on track when not on my regular schedule.

Hang in there everyone!

Cheers, Tammie

OK, I fell off the wagon.  This time, I had a really hard time getting back on.  Thanx for the PM's, they helped.

Lot's going on, not really seeing any results, so have been very discouraged....I'm back on today.....seventeen days to vacation, must fit into shorts.....I'm not buying any new summer clothes and if I don't lose a bit in inches, I'm stuck wearing jeans in Northern Ontario and it's going to be HOT!

Welcome to the new members, lot's of activities, I haven't read everything yet, but promise to catch up soon.

Hang on to the wagon everyone - for me, it's going to be a bumpy summer!

checking in....difficult week, not getting on well with DDH right now....kind of put this weeks topic to the test.

I let it get away from me Fri/Sat/Sun, but am back on the wagon today.  So far so good, kept on plan all day, going out to garden now.

Down 1 lb.

Looks like lot's of good progress going on.

Jessica, I have the same problem with the ticker.  I got it to work once, but never again, don't know why???

I'm practicing the abdominal bracing Penny, yes, it's hard...I obviously have work to do here.  I've also been trying to do the Turbojam Ab jam dvd, it's not too hard, so I must not be doing the moves properly.

Down to 203....very slow progress, but at least it's going down...

Hi all, quick check in.....have managed to exercise three days in a row!, have pretty much kept to plan, with some small cheats.  I think I might have to increase the calories, since I get really hungry right around 7-8 each evening.  Still not seeing a drop on the scale or in my pant size, which surprises me, because I am actually on track this time.  I am trying not to get discouraged.  I think it will just take some time, so I am going to give it 7 more days (plus the past 3 for a total of 10) on the same exercise regime and meal plan.  I'm eating between 1500 and 1700 calories per day and exercising 50 min (Slim in 6 dvd - kills).

For cravings, I try water first, then green tea if I need something hot and if I need something more substantial, strawberries (or any other berries on hand), with skim milk (love this almost as much as icecream).

If I absolutely MUST have icecream or chocolate, I have a fudgesicle, just 50 calories.

I also like pea pods with hummus.

Have a good week everyone.

Hi All, had a rough weekend, actually, it was quite enjoyable, went bike riding with my ddh and son, my butt is killing me.   Then spent the afternoon catching up on all the junk food I've been avoiding, not sure why....cheesies (don't even like them), chocolate, cheese, bread, crackers, sigh, I felt so sick afterwards (and I don't binge), so I chalk it up to one afternoon of feeling deprived, tell myself that my stomach is upset from eating all that crap in one afternoon and move on....then my mom's b-day bbq the next day.  I make a fruit plate, light greek salad and grilled chicken so that I stay on track....what do I eat?  chips that ddh brings for appies, more cheesies, AND tiramisu (sp?) and lemon meringue (sp?) pie!  Had heart burn all night! Sigh...OK, over venting, today is a new day.  I'm still at 204, no loss last week.  I'm back on track!  Had my yummy peanut butter banana smoothie for breakfast, made my grilled chicken salad for lunch, have put out more chicken for dinner....

Wow, di_p, 16 pounds in 6 weeks, impresive, sounds like a great program.  I'm thinking of rewarding myself with a personal trainer, if I can maintain and not gain over my holidays.  I'm off July 12th to August 11th, travelling across Canada with my family to a reunion over the August long week-end.  I'd like to get down another 10 to 20 lbs by holiday time, not gain while I'm away and then start training when I get back.

Sounds like a good goal vitamin_dominatrix (love the name!). We've got similar goals.  I started at 214, down to 204 right now (sigh, no loss this week), hoping to get to 140-150.

Awesome progress Amanda, I know what you mean the dvd's do get monotonous.  I've recently started Turbojam and it's fun.  Works up a great sweat.

Whoop whoop for lisa, no more two in front.  Good for you!  What have you been doing?

Thanx, up to 205 today.  Just started back logging and exercising again after a week of being laid up with a muscle spasm in my back.  I think it was the shock.  I wonder if I could shock my body into losing weight, like a week on, week off....not likely....I'll just try to stick to the plan!

I'm trying to keep my calories under 1500.  I ate about 1400 yesterday, but am normally around 1300.  I am sort of following the slim in 6 express diet plan, but trying not to be too rigid.  If I exercise, I allow myself some extra calories.

I am doing the slim in 6 abs workout (10 min, but a killer) in the a.m. and Turbojam Cardio Party (45 min) in the evening.

I have tried so many things and I'm feeling the same, this HAS to work this time or I don't know what I'll do!

As long as I keep logging and try to exercise everyday, I think it will work this time.  I just feel like I'm in a different frame of mind that will make it work!

Hang in there.  I read that you have to do something three times consecutively to make it a habit!

The nighttime cravings kill me! I've recently started eating about 1/2 cup berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, etc.), with 1/2 cup skim milk. It really fills the need for me.

When I do just a piece of fruit, I want more, more, more....

Wow, good for you ka2007, that's phenominal!  I am 205 and want to be 140 also (was 204 yesterday, sigh).

kae03, I totally agree, it is so demotivating to see the scale go up around TTOTM.  I skip it too....for about a week and a half....

dbaird99, I am also trying to work out five times per week.  So far, I get to three and then am too tired.  I think I need to up the calories so that I have the energy to exercise.  I started at 236, went down to 191, then back up to 214 and am now down to 205.  Sigh, I can't believe it sometimes that I went back up because I was starting to feel good at 191.  But I'm trying to be positive this time and not put too much pressure on myself.

Have a good day everyone!

It really was the message that got me back.  Once I fell completely off the wagon, those voices started to kick in.....what's the point, I have to start all over again, etc.  The message brought me back.  It's taken more time than that, I had to re-think my plan, but I'm back on.

Started logging yesterday.  Logging really helps me.  I think I'm eating the same thing, but the more time that passes between logging, the more little things that I add...an extra banana, a latte on the way home from work, oh, I'll share that chocolate chip cookie with my son.  It really adds up.....I don't know why I'm surprised when my weight goes up.

I like sharing recipes too, variety, I think will also help.  I don't really have any good recipes to share (I eat chicken on salad for lunch and dinner every day...), but  I am going to try some that others are recommending here.

It's also great comparing rewards.  I hadn't thought about rewards and now, even though I fell off and am starting over, I am still looking forward to my pedicure and new hair cut!

Hi everyone, I'm going to try this again, it seemed to really motivate me in April.  Then I had a muscle spasm in my back and was laid up.  I gained 6 pounds and stopped exercising.  I'm just back to logging again.  I've updated today and am about to exercise for the first time since acupuncture helped me to move and breathe again.  Looks like lot's of progress happening here, glad to see it.

I was thinking about trying the Wii Fit and/or DDR.....love to dance.  I'm trying Turbojam right now, I did like it, but not sure if it (or my lack of proper form) contributed to my back problem or not.

Going to exercise....now......
