I totally agree! I was sitting there like you all know you are sending her home...don't act like you really care. And someone shouldve smacked Vicky...and Heba...they are both very childish and rude. It was very irritating to watch to say the least. I vote Coleen too the end! |

Hmmm...how irritating...fell off the wagon with lots of wine and food this wknd. It was fun but I think I did some damage. But I am back on track today with the calories and workout. We shall see if I can turn it back around quickly! Good luck this week everyone!

Just purchased the book and look forward to getting involved and sharing the experience with you all. I have been lifting 2-3 days a week for the last year or so but in more of a circuit and general free weight class or machines. I have become stronger and more toned but now want to take it to the next level for definition and hopefully drop a few lbs as I build. I am excited to work the program and accomplish what many of you have! Good job and wish me luck! I will keep you posted!

HELP!! I am stuck! I am 6ft tall and currently about 164lbs...which is becoming frustrating to me! I have been on track for about 8 mths now and really have only dropped about 2 lbs. I gained weight a few years ago up to 173 when I changed jobs and started doing happy hours and lunches out! Lots of food (Houston has great choices!) and beer! I was inching my way out of my clothes and decided it was time to do something as I have always been somewhat slim. I hit the gym starting Jan 07 about 4 days a week doing cardio initially then added in some weight training. I also cut out the eating out and did lean cuisines or sandwich for lunch and cooked healthy dinners. I did allow a splurge one day on the wknd. I dropped 14 lbs in 4 mths. I maintained until june when I had surgery and then fell off the wagon for about 6mths! So...you guessed it...I ate lousy, holiday season came and I was negligent to the gym. Now I am back up in weight.... So I thought...oh I did it before...I can do it again. I have become a GYM lover...it feeds my energy now and I feel guilty if I miss it. So I even upped my gym days and I can tell I have become more fit and physically strong...and I really started counting my calories and have been healthy eating again. I want to see the weight come off ---NOTHING. Is that selfish to care about the number? Any suggestions to get me out of this all absorbing plateau!!!!! I have upped my calories, lowered them, added protein, added more h2o, not eaten after 6, cut out the alcohol, added a splurge day, took it away...LOL...you name it and I have probably tried it!!! I am hoping my new TALL friends who may have experienced this can offer assistance! I turn 30 (aggghhh!!) in DEC and set the goal of 150 - 155lbs for then! Help!! |

HI everyone! I hope that you have made it through the weekend successfully! Let's start this week off with a bang! We can do this! I feel the pain on the drinking point...lol. It seems everything we do socially ends up with wine or beer involved. I made the effort with one of my friends to be beer free for a month! (although hanging out with my husband and friends during football season may be a challenge). I think it is doable and just take it in moderation, I agree on the workouts being a motivation to not drink! It makes for a good excuse to say no! ;) Besides, why would you want to waste your hardwork!!! Good job on the healthy eating and workouts everyone! Another week to go! CB Oh...and my 5k was a success and super motivating....planning another one soon... ;) Luv it! |

Good morning! I hope that everyone had a fabulous week and stayed on track as much as possible!!! Glad to meet you all! New idea: I think I am upping my calories next week a bit now that my body has gotten used to functioning at this level while exercising...I think I may be holding on to the lbs tight bcuz I am not getting enough "burn" calories....it is just really hard to mentally allow it when you aren't hungry for more. Hmmmm...we shall see how this goes. I am not seeing much pound loss over the last several months but notice more in my clothes and the shape of my body due to the workouts....although it would be REALLY nice to actually see the scale number lower itself! So frustrating when you are working soooo hard! LOL Has anyone else experienced this fall out? I won't lose motivation though...it will all work out in the end to get a smaller and more fit me...... Right????? LOL ;) Good luck to everyone....ran out of time to comment on all, but I am truly glad you are here. It helps to have others trying to achieve similar goals! Let's do it! I am totally in it! I actually started on Monday in coordination with a friend who is out of town...with an intense motivation to be focused and diligent in my attempt to drop 10 -15 lbs before my 30th bday...which is actually DEC 14th (bday twins yeah!) I am in a similar boat...I am 6 ft tall (size 8/10) started (up a little) on Monday at 166lbs. Am I overweight...no...but it is my personal opinion that there are things about my body I can work on! I have some lbs I could do without and some areas I want to tone and define! LOL So.. here is my info I have been working out 4-5 days a week with a combination of cardio and weights...kickboxing, circuit, step, running and weight training. I have been trying to keep my calories in between 1200 - 1400 a day, lower sodium and low fat. I am running a 5k this Saturday this was a motivator to stay on track...hence the need to have a new goal which is now my bday! LOL I am excited to have some partners in this attempt! We can do it! Kickboxing... so much fun and it works out things you didn't even know needed working! LOL And it is a great stress reliever! I also enjoy my weight training and have taken up running recently. :) |

I am 6 feet tall and usually a size 8 or 10 in clothing. My goal is a size 6. It is all about the cut of different clothes and designers...who knows what we "really" are in a true size!!!! :) In my eyes being toned and how my clothes fit is WAYY more important than an ultra low number on the scale. Keep it up! |

I agree! I love Seven's and also have become wild about Joe's Jeans. I am 6" tall and fall between a 29 and 30 in their sizes depending on the cut. They can get pretty pricey but are well worth it for nice jeans that are long enough and make your booty look HOT! You can find these at Nordstroms or Saks...and a lot of little boutiques I am sure...they are pretty popular. I also have some GAP trouser jeans in extra long (online) that I love and Banana Republic carries nice jeans that are cut well. I LIVE in Jeans on the weekends and even dress them up for going out! Once you find that pair you LOVE you will find it hard to put on anything else!

Back from vacation and took the week off on counting..although managed a few workouts and did somewhat watch my choices. Congrats on everyone's losses! I struggle to join the ranks again weekly.... I am soooooo frustrated. You cut calories and watch what you eat and then you are told you eat too little...so you up them to the calculated number and then you still don't lose, you workout 5-6 times a week doing weights and cardio, etc... and live more healthfully than 1/2 of those you know and NO REAL changes in weight in 3 months!!!! Just needed to get that out today....it is just one of those days!!!!!!! SORRY! *phew* feeling a little better now...LOL :)

No loss but I am feeling accomplished with my weight training and cardio this last month...I feel stronger so hopefully that is a great trade off from the crappy scale...and my clothes are fitting nicely! 2 weeks until Hawaii vacation for me....I am stickin to it! Happy Friday! Well - I am up to 166 lbs today :( (thats 2lbs randomly gained this week)...I have been very diligent about eating well and have been to the gym every day this week. Not sure what that is all about but guessing I am either holding tight on water or building some good muscle...no way is it BAD weight to stay!! My body is just being very bratty the last month or so...not much budging and now up! Geez! Trying not to be discouraged I am going to keep it up! Interesting post...I have questioned that too... I had the "girls" done June 2007 and was quite swollen with water weight and such afterwards...then the fact that you have to hold off on exercise for a few months doesn't make you feel any better! But yes, they do add a few small lbs that I wouldn't count on losing ;) Keep working towards your goals and stay active! Cari |

Good morning all! So the wedding was fabulous and I did have a few glasses of red wine and a bit of cake. It lasted 7 hrs!!! Who could resist! But I definitely agree you cant live superstrictly 24/7 and have to indulge a bit! Back to the gym this evening to work it off! Question to ya'll....so I am really trying to adjust my eating habits. I generally don't go over my calories during the week and workout 4-5 times a week usually (everything from kickboxing, step, weightlifting, running, elliptical) so I definitely try to vary my activities. I do indulge a bit on the wknds usually giving myself one day free - being my husband and I are very social people. :) Now it says my burn meter is fairly high and my calories allowed are more than what I eat daily anyway...I think it said 1900 or so and I generally fall btwn 1400 and 1600 daily. Now I have noticed I am slimming up (clothes are looser) and I have gained some fabulous muscle, but still have some "pinchable spots"that annoy me..lol . (WOW...sorry for the rambling) I really want to trim down over the next 6 weeks as much as possible and was wondering if any of you have done the minimum intake of 1200 calories allowed for women and seen results or if it stalled your progress or what? Just wondering as I am starting to shoot for about 1200 calories (of healthy goodies) daily this week to see what happens...... Cari |

Went shopping for a new vacation swimsuit yesterday and found on that I love and a great motivator...AND it was on sale!!!! Heading to a wedding this evening...will try and resist the booze and cake! Feeling really good this week! I haven't lost pounds but fitting into my jeans very well and feeling thinner!!! The scale will move soon---I am sure of it! I started a challenge with a friend at work as to see how "fit" we could get in 4 weeks...coming to the end of this first week and feeling ultra motivated! I suppose it helps that I HAVE to be in a swimsuit 3 weeks from now and need to do what I can before then so I don't feel crappy about it! Let's hope I don't blow it over the weekend!!! Hi Ladies! I would like to keep up with this post! Sounds like a great group of motivated ladies who have realistic expectations and understand the struggles tall ladies deal with! I am 6 ft, 29y/o, starting at 164lbs, Sm/med frame. First GW is 150 - Stretch GW is 145. Aside from simply getting healthier with my eating habits and growing in strength/endurance for myself... I am VERY motivated to hit my goals this summer as we have a few weddings to attend and some river/beach trips planned. My husband and I and another couple are actually going to Hawaii in August!!!!!! BIG MOTIVATOR!!!! Gotta be HOT in Hawaii!!!! So...I have been hitting the gym again (after a brief break) and I actually just re-adjusted my eating habits and menu this weekend. Going to try and zig-zag my calories a little and mix-up my workouts. Hope to get to know you all and learn a few tips and help motivate! I'm 6ft tall, cw: 164 and goal is 145 - 150lbs. Just started CC seriously last week to work on adjusting my calorie intake and make better choices to push for weight loss...trying to drop 10lbs by June 6th if possible (Friends Bachelorette Party - a River Trip...so swimsuits all wknd -YIKES!) I have been back at the gym toning with weights and doing various cardio workouts for several months and it is just seems like such slow going on dropping the lbs. Sooooo.....I am hoping this goal will be motivation. :) |
