| i'm weening myself off of writing down.. i wrote down everything (on here) all last year.. for a full year.. i have made my healthy choices a habit and now i keep a calculator on my computer open and when i eat something i just add it to the calculator.. i know what healthy food choices are now and i'm still eating very heatlhy.. but i found that if i don't keep a tally then i tend to go over where i want to be. and on the weekends i do not add at all.. but i still have a rough idea of what i'm taking in.. | |||

| if there is any question.. go get a test done.. :) it's simple.. they just draw a little bit of blood and that's it. does your mom have hyper or hypo thryoid? one is an overactive (hyper) and one is underactive (hypo) i have hypothryoid and my symptoms included: depression, thinning hair, eyebrows falling out (from the outside in.. looks weird), tired, cold, menstural problems, dry skin, gastric problems (similar to ibs.. but not as severe).. all of the symptoms of hypothyroid can be attributed to many other causes though, which is why it's necessary to be tested to find out for sure. IF you are hypo, losing weight is hard without taking a hormone suppliment. i'm not going to say it's not possible, but for me i gained weight while on a low calorie diet before i was diagnosed. Now that my hormone level is regulated, i'm doing much better and have lost weight. |

| you can also get those stands that fit a can.. to make beer can chicken.. you put 1/2 can (a big can with 1/2 the beer drained out) in it.. put the chicken on it and roast in the oven or the grill.. gives it a great flavor.. and you can use any liquid.. not just beer! :) | |||

| in february we got an octane fitness elliptical machine.. it's an expensive one.. but i woulnd't trade it in for the world! we had been going to a gym and using the bigger ones and when we decided to buy one of our own we didn't like the feel of the less expensive ones. it has a longer stride than some of the cheaper ones and many different programs. so far i'm not bored with it.. | |||

| carmenxox- what is not to understand? ezinger, and many other people on this site, including me, are here because they realize they have a problem and want to do something about it. why are you here? honestly, to be so judgemental about someone who you don't even know, is rather sad and gives the impression that you have some issues to work on yourself. for all we know, ezinger could have had a condition leaving her bedridden for the past 3 years and caused unavoidable weight gain. if you don't understand something, fine, ask questions and try and find out about someone rather than jumping to conclusions that may not be right. just my opinion though. | |||

| ezinger- i had to lose 184 pounds JUST to get myself to a BMI of 24.9 ("normal").. i think by the time i'm done i'll have lost about 200.. depends on where i end up.. i have "just" 75 pounds left to go (or more, again depending on where i end up).. you are not alone! there are people here that have less to lose, some have more.. but most people on here are supportive to everyone! welcome aboard! :) |

| here's one to make you feel better.. i started with 184 pounds to lose to just get me into the high end of the "normal" weight range.. i've lost 110 of them.. i still have about 75 to go.. i started a year and 4 months ago. don't worry about the time.. just try and be as healthy as you can be right now.. and if it takes a year or 2 years or 3 years.. as long as your on the right path does it really matter? |

| if you don't have a problem with touching a raw egg.. the easiest way is to crack it open, put it into your hand and let the white drop into a bowl while holding the yolk.. then discard the yolk.. just make sure your hand is clean and the bowl is big enough that the white doesn't go everywhere.. :) | |||

| honestly squish.. there aren't really that many stores (around here anyway.. and i'm in the suburbs of chicago.. not small!) that sell plus size clothes.. and very few of them actually ever fit me well. lane bryant, fashion bug plus, and there are sections in each of the major stores (macy's, kohls, carson's) that sell plus size. as a former plus size gal (but not anymore! yay!) i can honestly say that this is an idea that would work AWESOME for the plus size market too. so many times the plus sized clothes are just the same fashion at other stores made bigger.. such as cropped shirts and low rise jeans.. let's face it those only look good on a size 8 or lower! not on a 18+ body! :) just my 2 cents.. other than that though.. your idea is fantastic! you totally need people to work there that are like the 2 gals on what not to wear (the brittish version though.. i like them better!) :) |

| in a way it is true.. the bigger you are the more calories you burn a 250 pound person will burn (i'm making this number up) 2500 cals in an average day whereas a 150 pound person will burn (making this one up too) an average of 1900 calories a day. making it easier for the bigger person to lose weight. This does not, however, take into account other factors such as health concerns or level of activity. |

| hi there nhberry! :) a little over one year ago (a year and a month actually) i was given the same news! lose weight or have the bypass.. since i flat out refused to have the surgery EVER i decided, like you, it was time to get serious. I had over 184 pounds to lose. i've lost 110 of them (but on a super huge nasty plateau i *think* caused by my hypothyroidism.. gotta get that checked again) welcome aboard and you can so do this! anyone can! that's the secret that no one will tell you.. weight loss is possible without gimmicks, or special pills, or special anything.. just good old fasioned hard work lower calories and exercise.. that's all it takes! |

| heh.. yeah.. talk about crafts and stuff and i'm all over it! :) the purple did turn out great in person.. but the green is SO much better in person than the pictures show.. :) i should get new pictures up in a couple of weeks once the head board is delivered and set up.. :) i think that we all should share pictures of our craftiness.. (is that a word? hah) :) i love looking at and getting ideas from others.. :) and ohhing and ahhing over them is fun too.. :) |

| oh thank goodness i'm not the only one! it does spice things up when there's more than one thing going.. :) i've never heard of that book.. i'll have to look for it.. i am going by the patterns from the quilt in a day series.. :) i just actually painted my bedroom in 30's prints colors.. because i already have 1 quilt on my bed in those fabrics (my mom made it) and i'm making one.. so i figured what the heck! yup.. i'm decorating around fabric.. can we say obsession? heh.. i've never knitted.. but my grandma did.. and i always thought she looked like she was having fun doing it.. i don't remember ever seeing her without her yarn and knitting needles in her hands.. ahh.. good memories.. :) |

| does having 1 quilt being pieced, one being quilted, one being planned and 2 cross stitch projects count as projects? haha.. i don't like being tied down to 1 project at a time.. :) i'm piecing a king size quilt for my bed in 30's prints, i'm quilting a quilt called the underground railroad code quilt (supposedly they are patterns used as code in the underground railroad) using civil war reproduction prints, planning a quilt for the guest room the old one is getting worn out i agree with you too.. keeping projects going REALLY helps control the snacking bug! :) |

| what i do is figure out what's in the marinade calorie wise.. weigh it.. then weigh what's left after i take the meat out.. subtract that from the pre marinade weight and figure out the calorie difference.. :) it's a bit of math.. but it's the best way i've figured out how to do it | |||

| when i want an oatmeal rasin cookie (and that's pretty much all the time) i grab a 90 calorie oatmeal raisin granola bar from quaker.. they are fantastic and satisfy that craving.. and since they are individually wraped there's no temptation to eat 5 or 6 of them.. one and done. :) |

| we got a verlo a few years ago.. king size pillow top.. medium firmess. it's like sleeping on a cloud! they are kind of pricey though because they are made to order.. but you should go to one of their stores and try them out. actually when shopping for a mattress you should go to many different stores to try them out because what is comfortable for me or anyone else might not be comfortable for you. :) |
