| Health & Support | A little diet advice. | Jul 26 2009 17:14 (UTC) |

Thank for all the advice! I'm definitely not trying to 'diet' per say but reduce my calories just a little bit at a time. Also, I'm not 5'6".5 but point .25, and that may be stretching it :p, but never the less I like to add it in for... pride reasons. I'd like to eat around 1,800, which is what I burn sedentary, and then only burn what I do with exercise, (which I really need to do more off...) I'll definitely try for more variety and some weight training. Also a few of the suggestions are a bit hard for me to use, as I'm a vegan, but I'll definitely try more protein, if you think I need it, and lots more fat. On the note of sauteed bananas, not my best invention. It honestly was quite bad and I ended up just having a second shake, an apple, and a pb & J sandwich, while feeding the bananas to my dog XD And one more thing, I really think my weight is better at 120, this summer, as I've been gain and losing, I've always felt better at a bit lighter weight. Currently I feel sluggish and plump. This is the heaviest I've ever been and I'd just like to get some where more comfortable. Since I'm still a young adult, I thought being at the lighter end of the weight scale was OK? (And believe me even at 120 I am not a rail, but look about what I look in my picture, where I was just that.) Anyways thanks again for all the advice, I'm definitely work on this. |

| Weight Loss | Ate more than half of days calories in one sitting... what to do | May 24 2008 16:25 (UTC) |

I did the same this this morning, but I ate around 11:00. What I paln on doing is counting my super huge breakfast as both breakfast and lunch. I have 300 calories left over for dinner. So mess around cooking the lowest calorie food you have in your house, veggies, fruits, and adding a little of higher calorie foods in. You can make a pretty filling meal in under 100 calories. Then if you need it exercise like crazy. looks like you have about 500 calories left. So you could have 2 300 calorie meals and then burn off the extra 100. Or if you really need it the best way to fill yourself up is water. Drink a really big glass every hour, with small meals, and you'll stay in your calorie range while staying full.
Mainly don't worry about it, I have a tendency to do this as well,(alot) and it hasn't really hindered my weight loss. Good luck! |

You could try a online test (http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home -body-fat-test-2774-143.html) But then again I took that test before I lost weight and again after (lost 10 lbs) and it said I had gained 2% body fat, so it may not work perfectly, if you're really concerned you could have a test at your doctors. |

No more pimples! *Dances* Like you said, good diet and exercise makes skin look lovely. Also I'm not going to bed screaming "Why oh why did I have 1000 calories worth of granola bars and 500 calories worth of popcorn? Why?" Hehe! |

I had the same problem today, except I only have 100 calories left, this is what I'm having: 1/4 Block of Tofu cooked with 1/2 cup Mushrooms 1/2 cup broccoli And then 2 cups of salad. Which is around 100. Asparagus is miracle food, the most I can eat is around 8 stocks (when I'm hungry) and that's only 26 calories! Whole grain bread is also very filling. Good luck!

I am your height (5'5-5'6) and about 110lbs, to get there a ate around 1200 (sometimes more) calories. I saw no negative effects and was happy and healthy the whole time. Here is and example of a good ( I think!) plan. Breakfast: Calcium pill and multi-vitamin: 20 Calories Quaker oatmeal instant, apples and cinnamon: 130 Calories Soy protein Powder: 50 calories Total: 200 Calories Lunch: 2 Cups of salad (any kind): 20 Calories 5 baby carrots: 25 Calories 1 slice of whole-grain bread: 80 Calories 1 Small apple (around 100 grams): 50 Calories Total: 175 Calories Snack (Spread out through-out the day): Single serving bag of Popcorn: 110 Calories About 15 Almonds: 100 Calories Total: 300 Calories Dinner: 1 cup brown rice cooked: 220 Calories 1 cup of broccoli: 40 Calories 1/4 Block Tofu: 60 Calories 1 cup grapes: 110 1 cup skim milk: 80 Total: 510 All Day total: 1185, give or take. I checked the nutrients out on MyPyramid, and the only problem was that it was a little low on fat, so maybe have 2% milk and 1/2 cup of grapes. Good luck though!

Oh my goodness! I have the same problem! I eat 5-6 Golden Delicious in a day some times more, it's all I want to eat, no cravings for bread, ice cream just those darn apples! Its taking over me! Hehe, well if you have any solutions tell me, I just weighed one and it turns out a small Golden Delicious weighs around 200 grams, which is 96(!) calories, and here I thought they were only 49!
