A coulple weeks ago I bought my very first 4 lb. tub of Nancy's nonfat yogurt, and I finished it already! I buy my eggs in packs of 18, sometimes buy more than one I have a 5 lb. bag of blackberries in my freezer, so if I run out of fresh fruit I can keep snacking! |

| Weight Loss | Super Green Tea??!! | Jun 16 2009 05:38 (UTC) |

I know its a scam because I work at a tea shop, I've been tasting and selling teas for years. I do know all about tea and its benefits. Yes, tea has some benefits, which haven't been thoroughly researched yet. (well, lots of research with just as many results) Some people have grabbed on to those good results, put tea into a 'pill form' and added stuff because they know people will pay for things to help them lose weight without any work. Natural? big deal! Did you know opium comes from flowers? lets all start taking that! Natural is a buzz word that helps rope in the consumers. Please do stick to real green tea, I'm willing to bet that a lot of those good properties are there, but don't fall for the marketing scam. |

The fact that your body is craving protein and fat probably means it needs protein and fat. Veggies and rice cakes aren't either of those, so I think your picking the wrong snacks to hold you over. What is your general percentage of carbs fats and proteins? I like light string cheese, it feels guilty because its cheese but it's only 60 calories! Plus its fun to eat and it takes a while, which always leaves me extra satisfied. |

| Weight Loss | Oolong tea helps burn fat! | Sep 15 2008 03:26 (UTC) |

That is pure bullcrap. Drinking tea is like drinking water, maybe you lose wieght if you replace tea with you daily soda, but this is another one of those disgusting fads meant to make people go out and buy things. Oolong tea is a tea that is oxidized inbetween green and black. It tastes more like a green tea, but it is more floral and less sharp than green. |

Great news! A week of eating junk food and wedding food in texas and I only gained 1 pound! It probably helped that I didn't eat much red meat because I'm not used to it. I'm still surprised though that I only gained 1 after all those margaritas and whataburgers I tried! |

Hi everyone, I've decided to stop lurking and join in finally. My Goals: Reach my goal weight ( 5 lbs to go!) Maintain Not get enitrely derailed when I spend a week in Texas for my best friends wedding And drink more water of course! QUESTION OF THE DAY TUESDAY JUNE 10 Restaurants! What's your approach to eating healthy when you eat out? Do you try for certain types of restaurants? Certain types of foods? Order from the kid's menu? How do you deal with restaurants?? The honest answer is that I don't handle restaurants well yet. I just sort of choose something thats more healthy than my usual, but not the healthiest still and feel major guilt for it later.
Medveditsa, I think we're from the same area! Hasn't this been a terrible Juneuary? And we've still got a few days until we have a possibility of hitting 70. :(

Make sure to wath the sodium level of the soup you are eating if you plan to eat it often. Many broth based soups are high in sodium and can cause water retention. |

I love cake though? juice, I cant really drink more than a tiny bit at a time because it's so sweet Definately not any pork. I can tell in a heartbeat if I just ate pork. yuck! Sushi. Not only is it not tasty, but I could also potentially get a worm from it. :( |

The western culture is so used to thinking that the body and mind are seperate entities, when really they rely on each other so much. I'm sorry for your devastation. Take care of your soul first, the body will follow. Drink juice. Sounds like the problem is more important than your calories for the day. |

I look forward to starting this system. I have alright skin but I'd like to see it better. I'm assuming that I could probably do this on my back too right? I have some gross skin stuff going on there. lisamarie, I have a question. I have a little vial of my favorite scent but I don't know if this is ok to add to the face. It says its perfume oils, pure concentrate, wearable or pottery. Can I add that? |

It's pretty much the same as leaving out a glass of water overnight. It may taste a bit stale, but its not a good evnivronment for bacteria, so its generally safe. |

Original Post by tealeaf: It also wants you to live a completely sober life. If you look up shots of liqor they recieve an F grade. They're 64 calories an ounce, sat. fat free, sodium free, low in cholesterol, and sugar free. But under bad points on the info it lists "contains alcohol". New studies are showing that a drink here and there can be beneficial. |

Do you have a farmers market around you? I'm often disappointed with the quality of the produce in my local grocery stoe too, and I find that if you go stright to the farmers the quality is better and the prices too. Plus, once you start to make friends with the vendors they start to give you really good deals also. They also help you learn what's in season when. Maybe your craving the wrong foods at the wrong time of the year? |

I often eat frozen corn straight out of the bag. It's a sweet frozen treat to me, like ice cream. I also put some feta cheese into my scrambled eggs, very fattening but it makes htem so fluffy and tasty! I have a weakness for cold spaghetti-o's. I rarely buy a can but when I do I put the can straight into the fridge to chill for a day before I eat them. |

I really think that 'bad' grade foods belong in a balanced diet. As long as it's in moderation. I mean who's going to stick to a diet that doesn't allow any butter or cheese or a ckae every one in a while. I probably eat an F once a week, and usually I have some D rated margarine on my toast in mornings. Yet I still average an A- or B+ most of the time. So take the grade of the food seriously, but don't feel like eating an F makes you a failure. |

| Foods | Flax seeds...for a newbie. | Apr 19 2008 20:19 (UTC) |
|
I used to work at a shop that sold specifically spices, so this is where this advice is coming from. all the benefits of flax seedare pretty much null and void after they've been ground up unless you refrigerate them. Even then, they lose some of their good properties. I would suggest not grinding them until your using them, or just dealing with them crunching in your smoothie. You also might be able to find flax seed oil in a store, but again that would need to live in the refrigerator. |
