I usually end up giving sucky advice even though I don't try too, so this is probably going to be sucky advice... But what I do when i get hungry is chug a giant bottle/cup of water :-D By the time I am done putting the water down to my belly, I am so full of water I don't want any food :-P The side effect to this is 15 min later I have to pee SOOO bad and am hungry again haha. Also the eat whole and healthy and filling foods is good too. And deffinatly increase your cal. per day, that is way to low. If food is readily avalible for ya... You have to get into a routine of your lifestyle change, diet pills scream "Hey this is me, on a diet..." Man, I do suck at giving advice :-O |

Thanks for the advice techraven, but I was refering to my Army Physical Fitness Test haha (I only have 2 min to do the most I can, if I did 1 ever 5-10 seconds I would fail horribly, 63 was bad enough 76 points out of 100!) When I am training for situps i actually dont do too manysitups, I do leg lifts, crunches 10up10downs, flutter kicks and bridge builders. Sometimes I do diferent things, but thats for the advice anyway! :-D |

I don't know if I can comment on this or not since I don't have toned abbs anymore, but i used too about 2 years ago hah. I would log my calories (not 100% a ruff estimate) then I would run on a treadmill untill I burnt at least 75% of those off. Its not really the boring because I would watch a movie while I ran, so i got a good movie in. That kept the weight off my gut (by getting a total body workout, keeps the fat burning from the core, situps actually dont do crap for burning fat off ur gut) I didn't notice much definition when I was just running so I did leg raises, flutter kicks, and inverted situps. I also had a buddy I worked out with and I would lay down while he stood up and I would grab his ankles and he would try to push my legs to the ground. (its hard to explain, I was using him for support with my legs up in the air as close to his head as I could get them) We made a game of it, whoever lasted longer won haha. Also I did the bridge building everymorning when i woke up befor I got out of bed. (I started off slow, but eventually I would do it untill my snooze alarm went off) Oh yeah, and if you don't know what bulding a bridge is, its when you put your toes and elbows on the ground and keep your body as flat as a bridge! Its an awsome work out) I hope that helps you out a lil bit! Oh an remember that you can do 1000 cunches a day, and it wont help you define those abbs! (well it will, but if you ran 5miles a day it would helpe 1000x more haha) |

Don't measure your success on weight, that is a horrible ide for someone who excersizes regurlary! Your body is just evening out! Your doing quite well it sounds, since muscle weighs more then fat, your building some healthy muscle on ya. The more muscle the more cal you burn, right now your body is loosing fat but gaining muscle, once your body slows down on the muscle gaining (gets adapted to the level of excersize your doing( the muscle you have built will destroy any fat you have remaining. Go based off of measuerments. Measure your hips, waist, neck, arms, calfs and thies. Add up the total of all the measurements, then in a week, measure them all again, the difference is what you should be going off of :-D I hope this helps. One of my buddies is going threw the same thing, but he has lost like 8 inches total. Keep up the good work! |

I wouldnt go with a teadmill since your on the top floor of an apt, I would go with one of the elyptical machines, they are an amazing full body workout. As for arm excersized, I am a big fan of pushups because I can do them during comercial breaks, so I don't really know what else, sorry! :-D But keep up the hard work. |

Yeah, the overhydration thing. That is deff. true that they drank way to much water to fast. But that is due to the over exerction of extreme physical activities, and the rapid depletion of electrolytes is due (partially) to the lack of sodium intake in the body. I don't mean to question you, I just don't trust a heart specialist who probably never pushed his body so hard that he depleeted his electrolytes. Nothing like being so thirsty from exaustion that no matter how much water you drink, it only hurts you because your body is unable to process it properly. I just don't want to see people got threw that feeling. But other then the people that push them selves super hard and sweat ALOT, the average person has nothing to fear. We are both right :-D |

When I was 17 I weighed 298lbs. I don't think I ever hit the 300 mark. All I did was get my normal meals, cut everyting in half and throw it in the trash. And then I played basketball everyday for like a 9 months straight. I got down to 230 that year. Then I joined the military. Hopefully that helps a little bit. |

Thank you all for your help. (I am army :P) I am just doing what I love, no different then you all doing what you love. I took that body fat test thing iknowmychicken put a link up for and it was more helpfull on my self esteem then the other thing, it said.. "You have 2.5% body fat. You have 5.3 Pounds of fat and 204.7 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water)."
haha, I don't think that thing is very accurate either, I am going to have to wait till I get home and get the other tests. I was hoping to see what I was now, but I will just go with 20% |

I was personally addicted to salty foods, I had very high blood presure (im alot better now). This post is helpfull to me, now i know what else to cut out! I still do eat salt in some foods though, as gi-jane posted that we dont need salts I very much disagree to that statement (No offence gi-jane) I was in an infantry unit for 6 years and have seen several of my friends overhydrate due to cutting out almost all of the salty foods out of their diets. Which is more dangerous then dehydration. |
