This is just a question, very serious, but just a question.

Based on all of your threads/posts, have you ever been treated/diagnosed with bipolar disorder or manic depression?

When you are up, you are VERY up and when you are down, boy, swimchick, you are way, way DOWN.  Classic symptoms of this disorder.  You had a similar post back in May.

You need to speak with your Mom and therapist immediately.  I realize you don't (or seem to think you don't) get along great with your Mom, but you MUST address this post haste.

You will feel much better once you do, I promise.

Hi Spartanbear. I noticed on your profile that you live in TN.  You said that you move a lot so that could be a 'used to live'Laughing.  If you still do where in TN?  I'm north of Nashville @ 20 mins.  Just came back from Houston/LA and don't know a soul!  Even though I grew up here-but that was a long time ago!!!

Let me know if you're anywhere close!

Honda? I would have felt like a Kennedy in a Honda. I had a $500 Pontiac Phoenix ok?

It was a '72 Honda with rust spots from the years of snow, ice and salting on the roadFrown.  I was cool......and it had this odd smell I could never seem to put my finger on or get out?

Our high school had VERY rich kids. Obnoxiously rich. Money was everything at that place and the rest of us were treated like garbage. It's weird because we were middle class. I couldn't afford to now buy the house I grew up in and we do ok!

Too funny!  I'm home for a visit in that town right now and it hasn't changed in 20 years!

Kids who drove Beemers, Alfa Romeos, (I was a Honda girl)etc., to school, did blow in right in class, screwdrivers in the morning, puking in the hallways.....nice.....

My folks kind of bought into it- my brother bought it hook line and sinker!-but I was the rebel and got the hell out and sporadically return for 2-3 day visits every few years.

Rock on Molly!

Some things never change.

Did you recently lose quite a bit of weight before you came home?  If so, maybe she just is not used to seeing the 'new you'. That has happened a lot with my friends who haven't seen me in a long time.

The BMI chart is much more difficult with men since muscle weighs so much more than fat-and a man's body has so much more muscle by comparison to a woman who's body is more water.  It is generally used when dealing with extremely underweight  or the morbidly obese men.

My sister (lied about it) and ate a ton of my chocolate macadamia nuts that my friend got me all the way from Hawaii! I was planning on only eating one or two a day but now i feel like eating the whole thing so that at least I can eat my own damn candy. She's already fat so I don't even feel bad anymore, since she is a food thief.

I would make my sister pay for ME to go to Hawaii and give me the money to buy 2 more jars.  A jar for the one she ate and a jar for the all the time (2 weeks at leastCool)I had to take off work to go and get them...

mimi, all everyone is saying or asking is how can you give your best friend advice when you clearly don't lead by example?  That would probably help her out the most, to see you get healthy and be on the right track.

I realize that your career choice has a lot to do with it but please don't let that kill you as it has so many young, beautiful girls lately.  Kudos to trying to help your friend but remember yourself as well.

The Lounge First Trip To The States.................................. Jul 08 2008

In the States it is quite regional.  I moved from Los Angeles to Indiana.  When our neighbors noticed my odd eating habits (healthy) the finally said 'If its green, throw it out, if it's fried, have three helpings.'!!

Sad, but they were very serious!  My sister in law's first meal she cooked for myself and my husband contained a meat, corn, mashed potatoes w/ gravy and biscuits-3 starches-I still don't know what the 'meat' was, and lard laden gravy.  She is from the deep south and still cooks this way....heart attack on a plate.

Luckily these days with so many more options, you can find a healthy meal in most any restaurant or have it modified to your specifications.  As for the OP's first impressions of our country, I have those same thoughts walking through an amusement park as well!  Not a great place to do an overall survey of US society.

"carmenxox" I sure hope you're kidding about the "responding in attacks" thing. That's just about all you have done to me. Lets not be a complete hypocrite or anything...geesh.  There was another post on here earlier from you, (that I guess you must have deleted?) that epitmized attacking someone.  I feel like you and that "healthybmi" character are completely reading into what I'm trying to accomplish wrong.

Hi, it's the "healthybmi" character.  You would be amazed to know that on any typical day, carmen and I disagree on many subjects, but the bottom line is we both always agree in proper nutrition, exercise and a healthy way to achieve that.  We both have been very successful (in extreme polar opposite ways) in our journeys with health and wellness.

Your expectations are beyond unrealistic for yourself and your attitude, well, I refuse to even go there.

Weight Loss My Scale is Broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jul 07 2008

Original Post by alexandrapaige:

i am very happy with my new scale! first time i stepped on it (after a crazy long week without it) it gave me a new all time low weight. i'm sure it's as accurate as my old one too, since the low weight is only one pound below my previous low and, like i said, i hadn't weighed in a while.

Hey!  What a great surprise for you when you hadn't weighed your self in awhile!  To me that would be incentive to not weigh 15 times a day, don't you think?  A happy, motivating pat on the back as I see it.Laughing

HAHA wowwww, I'm sorry...but that statment was pretty much rediculous. I'm going to try take that comment seriously, but I'm having a lot of trouble.  I too was having a ton of trouble trying to understand you trying to convince everyone your 'need' to lose more weight when your body won't let you.

First off, you are completely out of line. I love how you act like a "CC member" is some perfect breed of a person.  We are not a perfect breed.  We are a group of very imperfect people who have come together to realize that we are not perfect and don't strive to be.  We have one goal in mind-health/wellness thus strive to achieve that through manageable and reasonable means.

As far as your comment about "quick fixes" goes, I was never looking for a quick fix.-Really? You certainly didn't come across that way. If anything during the past few months I've been making a very conscious effort to start fixing my eating patterns. This hasn't been going smoothly, but I definitely have been trying to eat more and spread out my meals during the day. I also exercise...so I'm not sure what your little rant about exercising not being easy was supposed to mean.

Listen, if I wanted a quick fix I could have easily lost those 4 pounds by now. I have very little trouble not eating, and I could easily do this to obtain my goal. That was never my plan though, and I came on here simply asking for healthy tips or suggestions because I've been stuck.  But then you have constantly argued with every response you have received from every poster who has answered you with healthy tips and sage advice.

You are completely off base. If you think so.

Thanks for the entertainment though.  You're very welcome.  By the way, when trying to make a proper point it is always made more succinct when words are spelled correctly.

That's literally how it went.  All I said was that I wanted some abs. *sigh* Anyways, back to the point: I know how you feel but I don't really know how to fix the problem.  However, could they be jealous of your weight loss/getting healthy?  That's the case with my sister and I.  She gets jealous, so everytime she prepares a meal with me, I see her load my sandwich up with more peanut butter than everyone else's, for example.  She is trying to make me fat.  That is a disgrace.

I guess the only thing to do is make up some excuse of why you should make dinner every night.  A pain, I know, but it's better than going calorie-crazy.  Just be like, "Oh, Mom, you work so hard during the day; why don't you take a rest and let me make dinner tonight."  I'm sure she'll be flattered. ;)

I'm very sure that's the case, jealousy.  And I am an alien with superpowers.

BTW, thanks for giving the OP a sneaky way around her parents.  Nice.

kaybug, hate to say it, but the are just, well, parents.  They honestly think they are doing the right thing for you.

I know that you know it's not what you need to hear right now (trust me, I wish I could call them and tell them differently), but you are their child, this is there DUTY as parents.

I have no children, only 2 nephews so they can pretty much eat what they want as long as it's healthy.

Are you underweight?  Sorry, didn't check your profile before I started.  If you are then I totally would be slathering the butter!Laughing  If you want any say as to what you eat for dinner you have to first prove to them that you are responsible in your choices and your health.  Evidently they seem to want to fatten you up like next year's Butterball Turkey for Thanksgiving...
