Good morning, everyone!  I just wanted to share my feelings today about body insecurity.  I live in San Diego and it's gorgeous, like summer today.  All my friends are going to the beach for our friend Jeff's b-day.  Of course they want me to come and I would love to but... you all know the drill - I really really don't want to get in a bikini.  I would never tell my friends this, of course (including my size 0 best friend), I'll use some excuse about having to do homework (yes I'm a 28-year-old college student).  I know that some of you are not lacking in confidence and think I'm being silly, but I've been 140 before playing frisbee on the beach and I remember what it feels like to move and not have any fat jiggling around! I just want that back.  I just want us all to visualize how AMAZING we will feel when we reach our goals.

Maybe I'll go, who knows? Keep ya' posted...

Wow, that's amazing, finchcat! I would love to see some before-and-after pic's of you.  Of course feel free to chat with us!  I know maintaining the weight can sometimes be harder than losing it.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE, STAY STRONG!!

I'm shooting for 159 at the end of our four weeks.

Does anyone have very similar stats to me?

Nazrafel, thanks for the links!  Sounds like you have been through hell - you're probably right about not eating enough calories in the past.  Things will go better this time for you, I suspect.  The nice thing about being tall is we can eat more food that the smaller ladies.  Yeah!!

WELCOME ATHOMPSON60!!

Yes, I hate when people tell me that, I say the exact same thing that you do.  At 5'11'' my real goal is 140 (no, it's not too skinny everyone, I've been that weight before and I looked fine and I ate :), but right now my goal is just 150.

Eating is the hard part for me; I love to eat healthy, but I work at night at a steakhouse with horrifically fattening food everywhere I turn so it's hard not to graze.  Sometimes I end up bingeing at work and it gets me off track.

WELCOME KYLIE AND EMMA!!

Ok ladies I weighed myself at the gym and I was 166 which was actually less than I thought I was, although I think maybe I just lost muscle weight because I stopped doing strength training.  Either way, I would like to get under 160 in the next 4 weeks.

Today I did a cardio circuit of stairclimber, elliptical and stationary bike for 45 minutes.  It was kind of boring, but I least I did it.  Does anyone else's feet go numb on the elliptical?  Any info on why that happens?

Do any of you like to do sauna sessions?  I go for 15 minutes after my workout - it's supposed to burn more calories, but it's also good for your skin.  You might want to try it if your gym has one.

Hey everyone!

I hope y'all are having a good day so far.  I'm off to the gym to work out and weigh myself (I need to buy a scale). I'll post my weight when I get home.  If you haven't posted your weight yet, try to post it sometime today.

Also, what are your fitness goals?  I'm shooting for 45-60 minutes of cardio, 5x this week.

Love ya', and good luck this week!

Hi huntrsmom33, you're weight goals are identical to mine!

I know when you're tall you can gain or lose more weight and it's not as noticeable as a smaller woman, so we have to lose more weight to get those encouraging compliments from others.  That's why I want our club to chat about even a 1 pound weight loss so we can get excited about every victory.

As a note to everyone, please include any info you want about yourself: age, location, your workouts, advice, anything on your mind.  I'll try to check in every day any post at least something about myself (since I started the forum) but I would encourage you all to do the same.

Hi, I've talked to you before, you rock!  Yeah, I would be happy with even 1 pound a week, but I need to keep chatting with others to remind me to stay on track.  I'll weigh in tomorrow and post my current weight, ooh, nervous...

Keep plugging away, nazrafel and you'll be under 200 before you know it!

I want this club to chat about, food, workouts, even rage-filled vent sessions, whatever!

Weight Loss Weight loss and sleep patterns? Apr 24 2008

I absolutely sleep better (or harder?) when I am exercising and eating healthy, and I don't need to sleep as long.  It's like I'm all hyped up or something.  I have definitely noticed  that when I'm not working out or paying attention to what I'm eating, I feel lazy and want to stay in bed.  Maybe it's partly mental, I don't know.  Either way, you will have more energy when you're working out.

For everyone that loves drinking:  It's pretty much impossible for me to completely quit drinking but I cut it down to one day a week, on fridays.  It's kind of my cheat day so I get a little sauced and saturday is my day off from exercise (because I might be a little hung over).  This is working great!!  I have a day to look forward to during the week so I don't feel deprived, it doesn't impact my diet and exercise and I am so productive on the other weekdays because I'm not drinking those empty calories and I feel good.  I still lose weight doing this.  So pick your own day and try it!  It's realistic if you like to party.

Yeah, I totally feel what you're saying.  Some women would rather be thin than healthy, the media is completely messed up.  I actually used to model when I was young, I think that's why I still have this warped ideal in my mind (and the super skinny friends don't help).  I'm going to concentrate on being HEALTHY - eating right and exercising - and have some f***ing pizza and beer sometimes! :) You are soooo motivating, thank you!

5'11'' here and I have yo-yo'd between 137 and 178 lbs over the last 10 years.  I never saw over 170's until december when I weighed myself and it was 178.  I freaked, started working out hard core and lost 13 lbs in 8 weeks and no one noticed except for my workout partner and my boyfriend.  I would prefer to be very thin, around 140, but I live in san diego, where maybe my mind is warped from all the super-skinny california gals.  I love to eat so much, it's always a struggle, I gained a few pounds back, but I'm back on the wagon at 168.  I can't even go out at night with my best friend now because she is a size 0 and I feel like her huge fat sidekick.  I just want to be a size 6 again and that's all I think about all the time.  It sucks.  Sorry for the depressing post, but I would love feedback.  Tall women are the sexiest though!!!
