My Granny is very blunt(rude).

I went home for Thanksgiving and my Granny told me I was fat.

I thought it was so rude that I told my mom, " Granny told me I was getting fat."

Well I guess she overheard from the other room because she immediately chimed in without missing a beat...., "I didn't tell you you were getting fat, I told you you WERE fat."

Ha ha. Yeah it sucks, but old people are funny.

The Lounge How to tell if a guy just wants "the goods" from you? Sep 02 2008

I say hang out with whoever you have fun with, stick to your morals and what you are comfortable with, and if they start pressuring you to do anything other than talk if you don't want to, then there's your sign.

When I started dating my ex of five years in high school, I stood my ground and told him exactly what to expect up front. He never tried anything and waited for me to be comfortable and decide when things should happen. He was my first boyfriend, but that's how I knew. If he woulda acted any other way, I would have dropped him like a bad habit.

hi there. I'm 23, live in Alabama, USA, and am in the EXACT same situation. Only difference is I'm 5'4". I'm halfway myself with a total current loss of 25 lbs. AND I have also recently become not quite so motivated. I've gained back like 2 lbs. and feel totally gross. Talk some sense into me please. I tend to eat OK, but can't get motivated to go work out like I used to.

I'm super unmotivated to. and I don't know why. I was crazy motivated when I started and I've lost around 25 lbs. Now I feel like I'm gaining and I feel really gross.

yes, yes, and yes. I was always the same way and since I started eating breakfast, it gives me tons more energy and I can tell how it changed my metabolism because I am starving by lunch time and I was NEVER like that. It doesn't have to be a lot. I usually eat oatmeal, a banana, grapes, or pineapple, and a multivitamin with a bottle of water. It makes all the difference in the world.

Question for everyone: what do you do between your sets? The 60 seconds on D1 aren't too bad, but I feel rediculous sitting on my butt for 90-120 seconds (at the gym) on D2 and D3. I tried doing sit-ups but that just exhausted me for the next set... and sitting on my mat staring at the clock for over a minute makes me look psychotic. Any ideas?

 go to the water fountain.

oh....and.... this may be useless because I know everyone is different, but gold dial soap is the only soap I can wash my face with without it breaking out. It's also really good for getting any kind of stain out of clothing.

haven't tried it yet but I read that Kate Walsh has glowing skin because she puts a thin layer of vaseline on her face before bed every night.

I use vaseline to remove make up. And before I dry off after getting out of the shower I use baby oil on arms and legs. super moisturizing.

haha. never too late to start any kind of fitness. ankow is right about it being HELL though.

I didn't do so hot on day 3 last week. My triceps and my abs were ridiculously sore. This week will be better though.

I'm pretty excited that so many people joined this challenge. It pumps me up that other people are motivated about it, having as hard a time as I am, and are seeing results.

Keep up the good work!

I'm certainly not doing over the minimum at Level 5.

My abs and triceps hurt!!!!! I'm gonna have to de-rank today too. I don't think the initial test is fair because it's only one set.

CLEARLY, I never understood good form.

ha. sure. I wish I would have put this up earlier because I got some people in my office in on it last week and we decided to start today. No big deal though. If you guys want to start next monday, I'm fine with being a week ahead. Maybe then I could even give some tips or whatever to those following behind. I think this would be fun and I encourage you guys to get your own groups of friends to do it.

The way we are doing it is keep each other updated and when it's done, we'll all get together and show off our sick nasty bicep/arm strength and then eat lunch together. I was actually surprised at how many people wanted to participate...

Health & Support Anyone know about ears? Haha Jul 31 2008

why don't you try an ear wax candle. You lay on your side and stick the tip of the candle just barely inside your ear. The candly is made out of a waxy material itself. Anyway, lay on a couch, barely put the candle in your ear (this is not harmful), light the candle, and lay there for about ten minutes. The candle is hollow and the flame creates a vacuum that sucks everything out of your ear that shouldn't be there. it works better if you have someone that you are comfortable enough with that you can lay in their lap while they hold the candle upright. AND, this is kinda gross, but when you are done, you can cut the candle open and see just how much nasty gunk you had clogging your ears up. It's actually pretty neat. Good luck!!!

I just recently bought some really really expensive waterless cookware. I mean REALLY. 7 layers of surgical stainless and various metals with 2 lifetime warranties. They ran about $3000, but when you consider the fact that cookware can be an investment and I will never EVER have to buy another set, it's well worth it. I'm still paying it off, but they will always replace anything for free and someday when I die, my kids will have a warranty on them too. Not to mention how GREAT they cook. I haven't regretted spending that much or a single second. Well worth it.

How about control underwear like Spanx? they help a bit with tight fitting clothes and you won't have to discard them when you loose a few more pounds...

I have some spanx but they are just SO uncomfortable to me. and they don't take quite enough off to make my jeans noticeably looser, but that's just my opinion.
