I recently discovered Bolthouse Farms Creamy Yogurt Dressings: Classic Ranch has 80 cals for 2 tbsp Honey Mustard has only 45 cals for 2 tbsp!!! These are the only two I have tried so far (there are several others), but they are both FANTASTIC. I am eating the Ranch with my baby carrots right now. SOOOOOO good!!! |

i do a 30 minute elliptical workout at the gym. it is a rush, i only have an hour as well. but what i do is take a very quick shower at the gym after, minus my hair. i've found that cuts the time quite a bit. my hair doesn't look too bad and my body is clean and refreshed. i do bring along powder and eye makeup though. |

I am 5'4" and am a size 5/6 at 140 and a size 7/8 at 150. Unfortunately, I am far from these weights at the moment, but I am working my way back down. The previous response was correct...it is different for everyone, but hopefully this will give you a general idea.

our dog is two and a half and we still put her in the crate when we are gone! i come home at lunch everyday to let her out. i have considered putting her in the downstairs bathroom instead, which would be more room and not as big of a deal for accidents, but haven't done that yet. she has "escaped" from her crate during the day (when we don't lock it properly) and about half the time she has had accidents, half not. it's not fun walking into the house and finding a pile of poo on the entryway rug though! i guess my advice would be that every dog is different, you could test it out one day and see how it goes, but be prepared to find an accident or two when you get home. maybe make sure to give him less water/food that day. i guess you just don't really know unless you try it! |

hey all, i'm still hanging in there at my plataeu of a 5 pound loss. i am at 153 this morning after a bad day yesterday. pizza, regular soda, cheese bread...ugh. i haven't been officially counting calories but i have been at least trying to pay attention to what i put in my mouth, (except yesterday) though the weekends continue to be tough for me. i am working out on the elliptical twice a week while the kids are at swimming lessons. i want to work one more elliptical day in per week but haven't been successful with that as of yet. i continue to take 30 minute walks at work 2-3 days, depending on the weather and my mood. ; ) it's tough to balance everything with single parenting, grad school and full time work. i feel good about keeping the 5 pound loss but so badly want to achieve at least 10 pounds more! i'm nervous about the upcoming holiday season, too. today's fare:
S: Honey Oat Bagel & Peanut Butter L: Salad at Panera? S: Starbucks Bottled Mocha & Luna Bar D: Pad Thai Noodles S: Popcorn |

Happy Friday all! Yes, it is weigh-in day. And I was brave enough to step on the 'ole scale despite my fears. I am at 153, which means I am actually less than I thought I was, but still up 3 pounds from my original 8 pound loss. It was good for me to see that I haven't ballooned all the way back up again at least. I haven't been calorie counting for a while and I've decided I'm going to continue to lay off of it for now. It was starting to make me a little batty and I think helped cause me to fall off the wagon. I started feeling very deprived. Counting did educate me a lot about the food I eat, so I think I can keep it under control without completely logging everything. I still look up things a lot to help me make better decisions. I check out the nutritional content of most restaurant meals before I eat also. The weekends continue to be a challenge for me, but I'll keep trying. I am committed to going to the gym at least two times per week and am aiming for three. We go for brisk 30 minute walks at work whenever weather permits also.
B: Kashi Hot Cereal, South Beach Flavored Protein Water S: 100 calorie pack of some sort L: Subway? S: Luna Bar D: I have no idea! Have a great weekend all! |

Hey all, I kinda sorta fell off the wagon. I got pretty discouranged when I gained three pounds back and I stopped trying very hard. I haven't logged in calories for a couple of weeks and my exercise has been pretty sporadic. I can tell from the way my clothes are fitting that I am probably pretty close to being back up to where I started, but I am afraid to step on the scale.

i weighed in at 152 this morning. basically down a pound from a couple of days ago but up 2 pounds from a week ago. i am starting to worry that i won't make my november 3 goal of 145. the last two weekends have killed me...i drink regular pop, eat out, etc. the problem is that it is just SO easy to eat poorly and much more difficult to eat healthy. that being said...i did do well yesterday and also got in a 30 min speed walk and 30 minutes on the elliptical. i'm doing okay with food today and hope i can keep it up through the weekend. today's food plan: B- Kashi Oatmeal, Mint Green Tea with Stevia S- Protein water and cashews L- Panera salad or soup S- Strawberries D- TBD S- TBD I am hoping I can talk my man into doing some type of exercise with me tonight, maybe a bike ride or a walk. I also plan on going for a 30 minute walk at work this afternoon too. Have a great weekend everyone! |

I got brave and weighed this morning. I'm up two pounds to 152.8. I am hitting the diet hard today but am not sure if I'm ready to add in the exercise until tomorrow. (That means a whole week with no real exercise to speak of. Ugh!) I have a lot of work to catch up on and that will be taking up the majority of my time for the next few days. |

Had a really rough weekend...diet pretty much went out the window. I have been staying with my sister's kids unexpectedly the last couple of days and that isn't helping at all. I haven't been home to hop on the scale and I am afraid of what it is going to say. I haven't gotten in any exercise since Thursday and I am just having to eat whatever I can scrounge up here at my sister's place. Ugh. This morning I had three pieces of oat nut toast with BUTTER. Grrrr! |

Morning all! I'm a little depressed this morning...I did my weigh in and haven't budged an ounce since last week! Could I be hitting a plataeu when I am only about 4 weeks into this whole thing? I lost about 8 pounds in the first 3 weeks and am now seem to be stuck. Not a great way to be going into a weekend since I usually am not as careful!! I guess I might have to change my regular weekend routine of not really counting. Sigh.

So yeah, I kinda sorta screwed up my day today. I went for margaritas & chips and salsa after work with some people I used to work with. We didn't get an entree but I think I ate enough chips to more than make up for that! I'm a little disappointed in myself considering I cheated all weekend too.
I will get back on the horse again tomorrow, the kids have swimming lessons again and I will get my 30 minutes on the elliptical. I feel so much better when I exercise and eat right, but the cheat food (and drink) is sooooo good going down! |

Carie: Hang in there, I know the PMS-ing can be tough! Even though you are bloated try to drink lots of liquid...have you tried the protein water mix from special K yet? You empty the packet into a bottle of water and it's only 30 calories. The protein helps to make you feel full and the pink lemonade flavor is really good! Chocolate cravings? Skinny Cow fixes it for me. I will never be able to give up ice cream or chocolate, and the Skinny Cow treats are awesome with very low fat and calories. You feel like you are totally indulging! Another yummy treat is strawberries sprinkled with some Stevia or other sweetner. Hot tea and a good book always make me feel better too...good luck to you!! --------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- ---------- I stepped on the scale this morning and was a bit dismayed to see it hasn't budged since our Friday weigh in. But...I did have an extremely indulgent weekend, so I guess I should just be thankful I made it through without a gain! On the menu for today: B: Oatmeal, strawberries with stevia, hot mint tea S: Protein water, banana L: Soup and Salad at Panera (okay, let's be real...i'll eat the bread too!) S: Kashi crackers and a Laughing Cow light swiss wedge D: Boca burger? I had one last night for the first time...YUM YUM!!! S: Skinny Cow Treat or Popcorn Happy Wednesday everyone! |

I did okay eating yesterday and kept a little over a 500 deficit. I was also able to get in a 30 minute power walk at work. Here is my menu for today: B: Kashi Hot Cereal, Green Chai Tea with Stevia S: Cheddar Chex Mix L: Honey Oat Bagel with Peanut Butter, 1 Small Apple S: Yogurt or carrots or both, Atkins bar D: Not sure, possibly the Boca burgers I just bought along with a salad S: Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwich - Yum!! The kids have swimming lessons at the Y tonight, so I will work out on the elliptical for 30 minutes while they are doing that. The weather here today is my favorite: cool and sunny, so I will try to get in a walk at work also. Happy Tuesday everyone! -Angie |

hello everyone! i always go lax on the weekends, and this weekend was no exception. baptism cake, donuts, chips and salsa, tacos, peach bellinis....you get the idea. today and for the rest of this week i will be back to counting and exercise. the trick for me is to NOT weigh myself until wednesday and/or friday. so far i have kept up this pattern for over three weeks and have managed to still lose eight pounds. hopefully that holds true this week as well!

I weighed in at 150.6 this morning, down from 158 three weeks ago. Only 5.5 pounds to go to my short term goal, which I am hoping to accomplish by November 1st. If I keep this same pass it shouldn't be a problem. Yay!!! It feels good to make some progress!

Original Post by girlfighting27: Don't feel bad. Guess what?? I was just pretty much forced to eat a "make your own sundae" at work. I tried to skip out but the company president came back to round us up...no was not an option. To minimize the damage I only took one scoop and used the fat free caramel syrup spareingly. So I'll have to readjust the rest of my day, I CAN DO IT!!! You can, too.

So, I didn't get my exercise in tonight as I had planned...my five year old son begged to stay home instead of going to the daycare room at the gym...I caved because it has been nothing but run, run, run since this time last week and the poor kid hasn't even gotten to play with his birthday toys!
It's 8:00, I have 350 calories left and I am pretty hungry. Trying to figure out the best way to spend them...either a bowl of Kashi Cinnamon Harvest cereal or half of a honey oat bagel with peanut butter I think. Decisions, decisions... Hope everyone had a great day! |

I'm battling the afternoon hunger pangs! I'm about to give in to a 100 calorie pack of chedder chex mix. I'm at about 900 calories right now, so that will only give me about 500 for the rest of the day unless I make it to the gym tonight, which I am aiming for. That will give me another 300 calories or so. Here is my intake for the day so far. I packed food for the day today and want to try and get in at LEAST a walk at work today. I would like to bike or elliptical after work but may not be able to. I need to make this a 700 calorie deficit day, yesterday at the birthday party was pizza (but only two pieces), cake (one piece) and other not-so-great things. Here's to hoping I will at least have held my weight firm when I weigh in on Wednesday morning! Have a great Monday everyone! |
