Original Post by littlecalypso: Admittedly so, virginity is definitively an emasculating stigma in the world of men. Even the most blasé feel some apprehension about sharing their rather undersexed status with other men. |

Original Post by when_i_fly_and_look_down: Well, it sort of is an experiment. I haven't been very active at home because exercising at home sucks compared to at the gym, and I won't be back in the gym until two weeks from now (hopefully). I toned it down a notch or three from what the articles on T-Nation suggest precisely because I'm not as huge an ironhead, and I'm trying to do it on a reduced-calorie intake. |

I think my self-discipline is improving, although I fluctuate easily between 50-45% protein and 35-40% carb. I stopped myself from using sugary, refined carbs as an emotional pick-me-up today, which I think is amazing, instead I opted for whole-wheat grains and fiber. |

School was cancelled because of a little frost; I am terribly annoyed. But getting ahead on classwork and extracurriculars as well as the opportunity to "work out" through out the day redeem an otherwise unfortunate occurrence. 4th day |

kaybug: The ones in the morning were unfrosted cherry, whereas the ones in the evening were gingerbread. Frozen poptarts > toasted poptarts! lafoutloud01: Thank you for your advice and suggestions.
I try to avoid trans fats and to consume more unsaturated than saturated fats. I know dietary fats aren't going to instantaneously transform into adipose tissue. =P I'm not usually hungry, actually. These carb-splurge days are emotional-eating instances. While it may seem like I have them often (because I've had a couple this month), they seldom occur. I do heavy strength training 3 days a week. =X I know long-term extreme high-protein diets are harmful too. The constipation I would relieve with high-fiber carbs (i.e. 2 cups of Fiber One). I "aim" for 1500 but, I eat anywhere from 1500 to 1900 sans guilt. |

I had another absurdly refined-carb heavy day. Yay!
And yes, I post only my ridiculous nutritionally failed days deliberately. The stark contrast should be humorous. :P |

I was doing fine--keeping myself on the low end of my caloric intake range...until the cake. Of course, I regret having taken 3 instead of simply 1 slice. <_< What was I thinking? |

To curb my urge, I brush my teeth and/or rinse with mouthwash. Also, I grab two or three bottles of water to fill my stomach with something. The coffee I can just take without sugar, if I am really, really craving the caffeine. |

Original Post by when_i_fly_and_look_down: Quite frankly, that is their problem. Resources, reading material and other informational aides are out there for those who care to educate themselves. If they don't care, or make unwise choices although informed, it's on their own head. Unless the Media picked it up in a blitz, the newly revealed numbers would sit largely unperused, except by the caring, concerned, or curious few, much like food labels (and the bureaucratic regulations surrounding these are misleading at the least). I don't think I care to turn this into a compare-and-contrast of economic systems. My reason for holding laissez-faire capitalism with high esteem? A free-market system exacerbates the consequences and rammifications of an individual's choices, and allows invidiuals to float or flounder as per their own merit. Our current regulations are mediocre in how well they are enforced, at best, and corruption may occur at any level of the process, regardless of regulation or not. I am for an active citizenry: if we are worried about product safety, as consumers we can push for it through the media (or cause a public outcry for it, as many Muckrackers did during the Progressive era), we can create private organizations, which may work as well as current, government-sanctioned organizations, or better, use economic pressure tactics, etc. I'm all for anarcho-capitalism but, I concede that my idealism is a pipedream. I push for reductions in non-essential regulations first, as society needs to get off its lazy bum before the others may be lifted successfully. A lot of food establishments have their foods' nutritional information accessible on their websites, so it is available to those who seek it. A regulation such as the mandate set in NYC is paternalistic. But, at any rate: if the people of NYC wanted the law in place, good for them. Better that local citizenry push for local legislations furthering their own interests than the national legislature trying to impose such laws on the national constituency. |

Original Post by when_i_fly_and_look_down: And what a succulent slaughter it was! We killed them, took their land, and now teach our children a white-washed version of the events. I don't see why we can't just enjoy it altogether, as a holiday celebrating the origins of cultural war, assimilation and dominance in America. Meh, its modern secular celebration does fine for me as a glorification of gluttony. Christmas, as usually celebrated, is essentially a watered-down Yuletide. Jesus, if He ever existed, was born closer to April. Yuletide is an ancient pagan holiday. Yay Yuletide! =P That's how I view most holidays outside of my big three (walpugisnacht, my birthday, and halloween): an excuse to indulge, revel and spend time with my family. |

Haha! This happens to me all the time. Worse yet, my stomach will find the most inopportune moment to start "revving" up during a class. I play it off usually, though I am incredibly embarrassed. I don't have any tips for you, since I let my stomach grumbling come an' go. As for exercising in the morning, I've wanted to try it for some time now but, I haven't the time, patience or energy to in the morning. I'm sure you could pull it off if you started shifting your CLOCK (Circ-Rhythm) toward the Morning Lark status. I am a Night Owl. :P |
