Hi im in if there is still room for one more?? its a fairly straight forward routine that can be carried out at home so there is no harm...burn a few more calories! I started five weeks ago at 144lbs and I have now reached 136lbs, only another 14lbs to go before i reach my target weight of 122lbs! this might keep me motivated for another while, good luck guys x

HI its been a long time...my internet has been down until today so im back again with a vengence! lost about one pound in two weeks so im not so happy but sure il see what fridays weigh in has to say...eating approx 1500 a day and doing about half an hour - one hour exercise every day...just looking for a few opinions, should i be doing a lot more to lose weight im just finding it very hard to motivate myself, any advice would be great.

Eg today I had one weetabix with skimmed milk and banana for brekkie, apple for snack at eleven, lunch was wholemeal pitta with half tin of tuna in brine and a pink n white (oops they are my downfall but they contain v little fat??) and for dinner I had broccoli, carrots and caulifower mixed with a chicken kiev followed by another pink n white and apple as snack before bed...

For exercise i went for a thirty min walk with my dog, did one hundred jumping jacks when i got up and will do one hundred more before bed...also yoga/stretching for 20mins. i slendertone my stomach twice daily also....is this adequate exercise or should i be doing more??

any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks

Sorry for late reply...my boyfriend is a physiotherapist and from his work these are the results he sees...im sorry for scaremongering, perhaps there is no definite evidence of this occuring but he maintains that trampolines are the common factor between these unfortunate women...i shall ask him to find out more

Some studies I found on Pubmed:

Bo K.Urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, exercise and sport.

Urinary incontinence in very young and mostly nulliparous women with a history of regular organised high-impact trampoline training: occurrence and risk factors.

I wasnt sure how to link articles (technophobe:)) but if you just copy this into google, it will give you the abstract of the paper. It seems to be only a recently known effect of trampolining as the effects take a few months of use to show as far as i can tell...

Once again i didnt mean to scare anyone, any urinary incontinence can be cured with a few pelvic floor exercises...feel free to message me if ye are still concerned (i am currently a medicine student so might be of some small use:))

Ter

Hi, just a little word of warning bout these things...they are the main cause of pelvic floor loosening in women i.e. they cause incontinence and possible prolapse of the uterus due to the constant pressure being put on these muscles when jumping straight up and down...these problems arise in virtually every woman that uses these repeatedly so I would advise against using them as a regular workout...just my two cents worth

Weight Loss what should I change? May 23 2008

Hi lady, do not despair, i went through the same thing. however i found that although eating a lot less, I was gaining muscle mass due to all of the additional exercise. Muscle weighs more than fat and so you might have added weight unintentionally...but in a good way! You may not notice now but you are probably slightly more toned and your waist inches may have reduced? keep going with the exercise...the more muscle you build the more calories you use up every day and the speedier your metabolism becomes! I hope this helps you...feel free to contact me!
