I made my boyfriend a photo album. I found a website (snapfish.com) that you upload your digital photos to, and you can make it into really professional looking books. The are about $30 but it was so worth it. We have a long distance thing going right now, so he really appreciated it. I second the tickets to a concert or sporting event though, not all guys are the sappy photo album type |

They sell like discrete ankle and wrist weights at places like walmart/target. They strap on with velcro and are pretty comfortable, you could try wearing those to work and it would help make those moves more effective. |

I have tons of them on my innerand outer thighs! They have been there since puberty They are not so noticeable anymore, but I always make sure my swimsuit bottoms have ties of something that hang down the sides of my thighs. I guess it could be a lot worse for me, but I haven't had kids yet so I am not safe yet! |

Try not to over do it on celebrating your own success. As a woman, nothing would annoy me more if I was having a hard time losing weight while my husband was gloating and celebrating. Tell her she looks beautiful, and that you will love her at any size. I love the suggestions of doing a fun healthy activity with her, or you can always go with my fiancee's favorite line "sex burns lots of calories its good for you!" seriously though, even if shes not in the mood knowing that she turns you on is a real confidance booster! |

I have the exact same stats as you, im 20 5'6" female, and started my diet at 160. I have lost 30 pounds since then and I am by no means emaciated or skinny at all. A healthy weight range for our height is like 115-150 from what I have gathered from various sources, so your goal of 136-145 is right in the middle of there and I would say thats great! Your doctor was probably just telling you 10-12 because thats what it would take to get into the "healthy" range and doctors really shouldnt be promoting young women to lose more weight than they have to to be healthy, you get what im saying right? As for your mom, my mom says the same types of things. Mothers can be like that. idk I am sure she will be happy as long as you are happy and healthy. |

| Fitness | 25 minute Exercise routine - will it work? | Nov 17 2008 19:52 (UTC) |
|
I try to do it 3-5 times a week, the strength training i do is really not all that intense, mostly pushups type exercises and when I do stuff with weights I only use 3 pound weights. I have been doing it off and on for like 6 months maybe and combined with diet I have lost about 30 pounds in 7 months I have heard weightloss is 80% diet and 20% exercise so I would attribute most of my weight loss to changing my eating habits than working out, but my workouts have definately helped keep me toned and help me get a 6 pack started! |

I have an excercise video that does exactly what you are talking about. (Jillian Michaels 30 day shred) its a brief warm up then 3 sets of: 3mins strength, 2 mins cardio, 1 min abs. I have been doing it for several months now and thought it has worked great for me. I feel like I am getting a full workout in and burning a lot of calories, since I am usually dead tired ready to fall over by the end of it! The think about 20 min workouts though, is you have to go fast and hard to get the full benefit, if you slack off even a little its just not as effective. |

If you cant say it to his face, I wouldn't say it at all. Wait until you are comfortable and ready to say it. You should not feel pressured to say it back just because he said it to you. If he really feels how he says he feels about you then he should be willing to wait until you are ready. Plus, I am sure he would rather have an "I love you" that came from the heart not something you said because you felt like you had to. Just have fun and try not to stress, when the time comes to say it you will know. Let it come form the heart. |

My bf and I were having our standard "date night" we were planning on going to this huge rose garden that we go to every now and then, but it was raining so I didn't want to go. He made me go anyway, so we got our umbrellas and went. He got down on one knee in front of the fountain in the middle of the rose garden in the pouring rain. It was so beautiful and incredible. |

| The Lounge | Wedding: MIL invited way too many guests | Oct 22 2008 10:37 (UTC) |

well, what I would do would be to ask your fiancee to talk to her about it or both of you do it together. Ask her to uninvite some of the people such as children or contribute money to help pay for it all. If you can get some more invitations invite more of your friends (at the MILs expense if possible)that way you will hopefully feel better. I am getting married soon too and there are so many ways of approaching this situation, but I think the best thing is at leas to get the fiancee involved. His family is ultimately his responsibility and its not fair for him to put all the pressure on you. |

looking at the issue from a purely economic perspective, it costs much more on average carry out capital punishment than to keep a person in prison for the rest of their lives. Its not just a little more its several times more. this is due to all the costs of appeals and all the judicial review that needs to go on personally I am opposed to capital punishment and not just for economic reasons, I could write a book on why, but I have homework to do. |

How I would approach things, would be to make the small changes like others suggested. maybe not even worry so much about the total calories right away until you are ready. Focus on making healthier changes in your life rather than dieting. Either start by either changing the bad things you eat to eating the same amount of a healthier thing such as switching a bowl of potato chips for a bowl of whole grain crackers. Another way to start would be to reduce the amount of what your eating like having just a few chips instead of a larger amount. Just examples! A combination of both would probably work well too. |

hang in there! breakups are really one of the worst things you can go through, but it will eventually make you stronger. When my ex and I broke up, I cried for a week straight, all I did was sit in my room and cry. I didn't eat or sleep or anything. Since then I met an amazing guy who is perfect for me, and makes me wonder why I even dated my ex much less cried over him! Things will get easier, you just need time to heal. **hugs** |

I say, get whatever the heck you want! You dont have to eat it all, usually when I got out I eat half or 2/3 of what I order and have the rest for lunch. I couldnt live knowing theres food out there that I couldnt eat ever again, especially the fatty things I love. |

| Weight Loss | feeling unsupported anddd balancing being a college kid with losing weight | Sep 27 2008 03:17 (UTC) |

I get the same thing, I go to a big drinking school and my roomie eats out constantly. Most of my friends are heavier than me too so I cant really talk about weightloss because it makes them feel bad when I say I need to lose weight because they know they are heavier than me. I don't get much support from this site either, I reached out and tried to make friends but all the people I connected to my own age fell off the wagon and no one older really seems interested in talking to me. It would be nice to have someone to really be friends with, or at least a journal comment once in a while! |

| Weight Loss | Student with very little money, in a place with loads of fast food restaurants.. HELP! | Sep 26 2008 03:08 (UTC) |

I usually eat powerbars for lunch when i have my long days of class. they are easy and dont get squished and ruined in backpacks. For dinner, try some of those frozen dinners, some of them are actually really good! Be warned though, some (especially the good ones) are not that filling, so when I eat them I stuff myself with celery or some other veggie because I need to feel full after dinner or I snack all night. |

DRINK! I drink insane amounts of no calorie flavored water it really helps fill me up, jut plain water works well too. if you need to chew something either chew gum or what I do is cut up lots of celery or carrots and just eat them raw. you can eat as much of them as you want without feeling guilty |

I have been having the same problem lately, today I actually passed out in the middle of my chemistry lab. Its weird though, I know I am eating enough and that I am eating the right things and getting enough iron. None of the ideas on here about it seem to fit. The only thing I can think of for myself would be to get tested for diabetes, does anyone know much about it? My grandpa just died from it last year so I have been a little bit paranoid about it ever since especially now. |

i had instant oatmeal for bfast and now im at the library trying to eat my snacks without getting yelled at for having food by the computers no lunch today because I am too busy with classes for a full meal so my afternoon snacks include: chocolate powerbar, 1/4 cup raw unsalted almonds, as much celery and carrot sticks as i can choke down, and fat free yogurt for dinner I am planning on having either a lean cusine pannini or some smoked sausage with a big salad maybe more snacks later depending on where i am with calories |

| Weight Loss | Fiber and weight loss? | Aug 15 2008 02:44 (UTC) |

I have heard that if you eat a lot of fiber ( the suggested amount dont go binging on it) that it helps clean out you intestines. cleaning out your intestines can help you lose several pounds depending on how much you cleaned out (for lack of better words) because things tend to build up in there if you keep your intestines cleaned out by eating a lot of fiber things will move through you body faster so your body wont have as much time to adsorb all the calories or whatnot in the food, and its just better for you overall for food to go in then out and not be sitting around polluting your body.

I did the same thing and its been working great for me! I broke it up into 5 pound intervals and so far I have gotten a purse, wallet, sunglasses, and sexy shoes I didnt need. I felt great about myself because I was losing weight and it made me feel even more confidant walking around in my new shoes and everything else I got myself. It was a really great motivator even if the things were not that expensive it made me feel good to have something new that I "earned". For my last goal I am buying myself a bunch of new clothes that actually fit! good luck! |
