| Pregnancy & Parenting | Wanted: A support buddy | Aug 05 2008 07:58 (UTC) |

Hi! I'd like a support buddy too... I have only 1 child, almost 3 yrs, and I want to try again (NOW), but can't do it at this weight. I was 155-160 when I got pregnant (a bit heavy for me), and 210? at delivery. I lost loads, and was down to 165, but am back up to 175-180 now. :( I breastfed my sweet girl until she was two, and thought it would melt off after that when I had my hormones back to myself. Silly! I also want to eat sensibly, healthy, and love love sweets too much. I work at home, and find the isolation stressful. I'd love some companionship to share positive support! Cheer |

Wow, thank you so much for this post. I am in tears! My little one is 2 1/2 yrs old. I have 45 lbs to lose (roughly) and after I lost the first 25 lbs, I gained it all back. I know it was because of shame/fear/disrespect for this mother-body AND mother-lifestyle I have now. I breastfed until she was 2, and thought the weight would melt off afterwards, or my appetite/habits would suddenly disappear. I realize my dear body needs some lovings now, after all this amazing work. I'm so grateful for your beautiful words! |
