Hi guys! Been kind of lurking around here, Sounds like you all are working hard! great job.. LadyE, so sorry to hear about your bronchitis-sounds miserable. glad you are feeling better now.. I have a membership at the Y here, and I really like it, but I'm afraid we may have to drop it because we really need to cut our budget.. with me back in school and all, things have gotten pretty tight.  The college has a gym I can use anyway.

As of this morning, I am 145! I cant believe it, I went shopping a couple days ago and I fit in a size 8 jeans! I think it has been at least 12 years or more since I could wear a size 8.. I just about cried when I put them on. Just gives me the motivation i need to keep going.

I'll try to keep checking in now and then, but I will be hard pressed for time- classes start monday for me, and I still need to get school shopping done for the kids- they still have a couple more weeks.

have a great week all!

Hi guys! Been gone quite awhile, glad there are still a few familiar folks still here :) I fell off track a bit over the winter and spring.. was about 160ish in October, maintained mid 160's over the winter, and was about 170ish around Memorial weekend.. but life has changed quite drastically for me- I started back to school in June (after 15 years!) and am also working part-time (I did daycare for about 5 years, and then was fortunate to have about 2 years as a stay-home mom) Keeping so busy has kept me eating much less anyway, and I am at 151.4 this morning. I havent really been logging my eating, so I would like to start doing that again, and I really need to find some time to start getting back into some exercise.. I am much too  flabby. I still want to lose about 25-30 lbs more and hope I can by at least next summer.

Hi everyone!

I been gone awhile.. went for vacation early October, and just never came back here. I stopped counting calories, but still kind of watched my portions.. but did indulge in a few too many treats.. I havent been exercising much either, but now ready to get back to it.  Surprisingly, I havent really gained a whole lot back.. I am at about 161 now.. was kind of hovering around that 160 mark before I left.  I started back at the YMCA on Monday, and have gone yesterday and today too. I am going to try to go just about everday. I am starting the C25k, Again..I hope I can stick with it this time! I am quite sore right now from jumping back in with the exercise..oi, hope the pain leaves soon.

Hope all of you are doing well, and had a nice Thanksgiving with your families..

Hi all!

wow, been a little quiet here the past couple days.. where is everyone?

newlook, Sounds like a fun anniversary trip with your bf! Congrats on your 10 years!

Welcome Marilyn! Never too late to come on in here :) This is a great place for support.. hope you stick around awhile. I'm 34 too!.. I started off early May at 186 (when I finally got a scale).. was probably closer to 200 over last winter. I am currently around 160ish. I am 5'4", married, 4 kids, and aiming for 120-something.. I have 123 as my goal, but I am not so concerned about reaching any certain #, just really want to be healthy and fit! I'll know when i get there :) ..

Hi everyone! Sorry havent posted in awhile.

Welcome ltlmsmfft and mommyx4!

Congrats all on recent successes!

momof2, wow, over 800 cal on your walk!

Nicci, yay! you broke the 160's! I am still floating on that edge-- i have seen as low as 157, and keep bouncing between there and as high as 163. ugh.

K9, congrats on completing C25k!! that is great!

Sharky, congrats on your muscle development! thats great- remember, muscle is more dense than fat, so even if your scale doesnt move that much, you are still losing the fat. And great on the size 9 jeans! even if you couldnt zip them, just getting them over your hips--i bet you will be able to zip them pretty soon!. I have the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred (which I havent used for awhile :(  ).. I dont know if it the same workout as on ONdemand, but I agree, it is very hard.

LadyElizabeth, congrats on your 182! yay! Wow, your diet sound pretty tough.. I dont think i could do an entire 6 weeks with only chicken, broccoli, and sweet potato! I think I would only last 1 week, maybe.. Good luck though!

I havent been doing the best either i must confess.. I havent been binging terribly, but have been having some no-no sweets more than i should. PMS was much worse than usual for me, been feeling so drained, and craving the sweets so bad.. I finally got ttom last night, and today isnt looking like such a good day for me either (cramps and whatnot) ugh. I weighed 160.8 this morning, which I was surprised it wasnt a bit higher with my eating and low activity the past few days.

Hi all.. late again posting for weight, sorry.. 160.8 today, and ttom.ugh.  the PMS was terrible for me this past week, much worse than usual. Just been feeling so drained, and have had such horrible cravings for the sweets. I havent been binging terribly, but could be eating much better. I need to get going back to the Y too.. havent gone very much in the past week either. Since they first opened, they are open only for 'charter members', which were the people who bought the initial memberships before they were actually open, and were about $50 extra- kind of like a donation to get it everything started. The 'charter member' period runs until October 13, then they will open for everyone- but until then the hours are a little shorter, only open 7am-8pm right now- after the 13th the hours will be 5am - 10 or 11? pm.. I am thinking it will be easier for me to get a routine going once the longer hours kick in. Right now, I get my oldest son up about 6 am, then after he gets on the bus I get the other 3 up and going, and then by the time they get on the bus its already about 8:30. I think after the 13th, I will go to the Y right away at 5 am, and come back at 6 to get my son up and the other kids, then maybe I can go back again later on.  It will take some getting used to for me, because I am not really a morning person.

Lynn, sounds like you are doing great getting back on track! Hope things are doing ok with your uncle.. will keep praying for him, and you and your family.

Cricket, so sorry about the situation with your hubby and his work.. How long does he have to be gone? I can definately relate with you about the money.. it is alot, and you have to decide if it will be worth it--especially if he is working such long and crazy hours that you would barely see him anyway. But, if you need to be with him, and the cost is worth it to you, then I say go for it! It is a tough decision, but whatever you choose, dont have any regrets- you need to do what is right for you.

k9, wow, almost there with c25k! If you use the podcasts at all, I know they have another set that goes from a 5k to 8k, and then after that there is another set that trains you to a 10k.. there are also the 'podrunner' series that are music sets that range from 135- 175? beats per minute and are each at least an hour long.. to help you build speed.. they come out with a new one just about every week I think.. maybe you'll be able to find a 5k sometime that isnt on a Saturday morning? or if you knew far enough in advance you could arrange to have the day off?

Lynn, I really like the Y. They do have trainers, but have to pay extra for them.. I just may treat myself to that after we pay off a few more bills. They do have a 'fitness assessment' for free, which I did last wednesday.. basically measure weight, flexibility, fat percentage, target heart rates, and showed me the weight machines, and recommended a routine.. which will help me get started anyway. The classes are free too. The 'body pump'  is a routine using a barbell with assorted weights, following the instructor with some music. Most of the classes, and that one too are about an hour... ugh, I know how you feel about the housework...just got done cleaning up now..still got a couple more loads of laundry to be caught up. never, never ends.. I'll be praying for you and your uncle and hope for the best with his upcoming surgeries.. must be in pretty rough shape if he needs a feeding tube and all- is he in like a nursing home or hospice type facility, or is he able to stay at home? You have got to stop skipping your breakfast! I know it kills me everytime I do..always end up getting too damn hungry later in the afternoon, and eat-eat-eat.. Maybe get something ready for yourself before you go to bed at night, so you can eat quick and get going... even some type of bar with milk and an apple or banana would be much better than skipping-- you got to good care of you so you can take care of all the others :)

antika, thanks for the link..interesting.

Hi everyone!

Been pretty busy again.. we close on fatherinlaw's house on Friday, so scrambling around to get everything cleared out and ready.  I weighed at 160.2 today.. didnt eat the best over the weekend, and kind of expected my weight to be a little elevated from the weight lifting last week. I think my ttom is knocking on the door soon-- i just have been craving sweets something awful! Havent given in too bad, but had a little here and there. We went to an apple orchard on Sunday and picked a peck. Pretty spendy, so I dont know if we'll keep making our annual orchard trip! $16 for a peck! I'm not even sure how many lbs that is, but it seems awful high. I made an apple crisp yesterday, and it is pretty good.. smelled wonderful in the oven! I had a little piece. I havent been to the Y since Friday, and should really go today, but ugh, so much laundry and housework to catch up on! blah!

momof2, great new pics! You really have changed alot! I took down my pics cause my hubby saw and freaked out about me having pics of me and the kids on.. He gets so damn paranoid about stuff like that! lol about the ladyfingers.. thats funny they ate them all! I wish I could go back to bed for awhile after getting my son up for school! but, i have to keep up, prodding him along, or he would probably miss the bus.. and then I have to get the other 3 up to get ready for school after he leaves. My oldest son's bus comes about 7:00, and the rest of them get on a bus about  8:20... and by then its quite late enough that I better get my butt in gear and get things done. Sorry about your cold.. I am pretty much over mine now, and my son is still milking it. He wanted to stay home today, but I told him if he did, he would stay in bed to rest and no TV, so he opted for taking some Cold medicine and going to school.. I think he just wants to laze in front of the TV instead of going to school!

Nicci, thats pretty cool about seeing the celebs at The Ivy! Sorry you're having a hard time with ttom.. mine is usually pretty regular, but every now and then it kicks in real hard and lays me up the whole week..ugh! Good Luck with the trainer!

ladyelizabeth, what kind of 'eating plan' is it? Thats great your son already dropped 6 lbs!

k9, mmm, cracker barrel.. there used to be one not too far from me, but they closed i think.. I think the nearest one now is at least an hour or better away.. probably better for me anyway! I dont think there are too many low-cal items on that menu! Your trip to Universal Studios sounds like so much fun! I'd like to take the kids there someday, but seems awful spendy..my hubby doesnt do rides, so I dont know what he would end up doing at an amusement park! You are doing so great with c25k! you must be pretty close to the end! Do you think you'll sign up for a 5k run at all? I am hoping I will be able to complete the program this time, and keep on running and working up speed and endurance over the winter, and then be able to sign up for some 5k runs next spring and summer.

newlook, I am really starting not to like your bf! Why does he keep putting you down? You are doing so great, and of course you should take a break when you need too, especially when doing weights! Dont you listen to him about any of his garbage! You are doing great!

hi all! Sorry I missed weigh-in yesterday, too much running around... we close on my father-in-laws house on Friday (passed away last winter), so busy clearing everything out and getting it ready. . anyway, weighed in at 160.2, so dropped a little since last week.. I started at the Y on Tuesday last week, and went Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but not over the weekend, and didnt get there yesterday either.. I am starting on weights, and starting over with C25k, did 2 days of week 1, and one day of week 2 so far. I went to a 'body pump' session, and 2 yoga sessions, and hope to continue more. Was a bit sore towards the end of the week, but have recovered now. Want to try and get there sometime today, but got tons of laundry and cleaning up here to do, so we'll see.

Sounds like everyone doing really good!

lynn, so sorry about your uncle's cancer. It is so hard care-giving.. so much emotional stress! I hope he will fare well and beat it! And caring for your dad and another uncle too! wow, that is alot to deal with.. Make sure you get time for yourself too :)   Hey, thanks for posting about the Foods too, great info.

bobev, thats great you finished C25k!! congrats! I had started early August, then hurt my hips and shins by week 3.. I've had some time to recover now, and am starting all over again. Best of luck on your upcoming 5k!

cricket, Happy Anniversary coming up! ahh, the Swatch watch! those used to be really big here in the states in the late 80's.. I remember seeing the ads on tv all the time, and everyone just had to have one.. I dont think I've seen those around in quite some time though! Are they pretty popular in Europe still? Enjoy getting your 'make over'..thats always fun and exciting to change up your look! There are ab exercise you can do standing up too.. and dont fear the ball-- it may work really well for you, especially if you dont use one that is super firm, they can be quite 'cushiony'.

Hi everyone!

OI, kinda sore today.. I went to the Y yesterday afternoon for the fitness consultation, and that went alright. My weight was up a little from breakfast and tea and water still, but o well.. I got a better idea now how to start incorporating the weight machines into a workout anyway. I had to do a mile on the treadmill at a brisk walk for the consultation, and then after I finished with that I stayed and did 40 minutes on the treadmill (c25k week 1, and then a little extra walking).. I went home after that because it was about time for the kids to get home from school. After dinner we went back and I did a Yoga class for an hour, and then we didnt have time for the pool so we went home. Today there was another Yoga class in the morning, so I went to that (1 hour), and then I did 50 minutes on the treadmill (c25k week 2, and extra walking), and then did some weight lifting with the machines. I dont think we'll be going back tonight, which will kind of bum the kids out, because they really like the Pool-- but hubby says he wants to take me out to dinner and a movie.. just have to be good with eating now! I'll probaby go tomorrow for the kids with the pool, but may take a day off from working out-- my quads especially are pretty sore.. and I think my shoulders and chest will be aching tomorrow-- worked them pretty hard on the machines. I am feeling so much better than earlier in the week anyway, with the cold and all.. but now my oldest boy is coming down with it! at least it's friday, so he can rest up and not miss school.

k9, mmm, your birthday dinner sounds so yummy! Did you get by OK without getting a bad tummy ache or anything? lol about your shopping.. its so much funner when you look good and fit into those smaller sizes! I used to really like shopping when I was much younger before I put on all the weight.. I will probably start liking it an awful lot again when I get closer to my goals! lol about your hubby too-- men just dont get it!

ladyelizabeth- ugh, that stomach virus sounds dreadful! Your poor boy, and hubby too! I hope you are able to steer clear of it too!

newlook, good for you, avoiding the treats at work! Dinner sounds great!

momof2, hope you are feeling better today.. I get bad cramps sometimes too. --oo, and I had back labor with my kids too-ugh..your are right, not a good experience!

nicci, it was nice learning about all the machines, and I am feeling pretty motivated now, hope it stays that way!

Happy Friday!

Have a great weekend

K9, Glad you had a nice dinner out.. where did you end up going, and what did you have (other than your huge slice of Carrot cake!) ? That is so sweet, your hubby sending you the flowers!

that is funny, you all ttom at same time.. mine will be the week after you guys..I'm just behind I guess..  I did go to the Y today. I did the treadmill for 40 minutes (did week 1 of c25k- just gonna start all over again.) and then walked brisk a little longer.- wow, what a difference on the treadmill! so different than running on the street. I also did the bike for about 35 minutes, and then had an employee show me the rest of the machines, so I will know how to use them all!  I am going to have a 'fitness evaluation' tomorrow.. I suppose they measure how fat I am..:(  The fitness guy is kind of cute, so I will be embarrassed, him seeing how flabby I am..o well.  I went back to the Y after dinner with the kids and took a 'Body Pump' class, which is an hour of using weights.. i think I will be sore tomorrow. and after that I took the kids to the pool for awhile. All the running around today, I didnt even notice how little I ate-- I only came up to just under 1100..will have to eat a little more tomorrow.

CONGRATS KAREY!!!! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Smile

what a wonderful gift to yourself, reaching your goal.. and on your birthday!! That is fabulous!! You really have things to celebrate today! You and hubby should go on a cruise or some wonderful vacation... you so deserve it! and your pic with your old jeans-- wow!! what a difference! You better stick around here still though--we need someone cracking a whip at us! :)

momof2, Good for you not giving in to the Candy bar!! If it was me, I probably wouldve just bought a tiny one though, just to satisfy the chocolate craving a little.. I have a hard time not giving in when that craving kicks in!

Leo, JUST SAY NO! :) Come back to us girl!

Nicci, I know what you mean about good smelling food.. hard to resist, especially if you are already hungry! The times I have given in with the fast food since being on CC for awhile, i always just feel so sick afterward..get such a bellyache..My body just cant do that junk anymore!

newlook, I am so not a runner either.. but I really want to become one! I think I am just about ready to start again with C25K.. this time I will use the treadmill at the Y.. I just dont think my joints will handle the pavement again-- at least not until I build up some more muscle and get stronger.

k9, dont feel discouraged.. you have done so well! 1 lb could be water weight easy..  I'm sure your scale will show you your number anytime now... i bet even a lb or 2 less! I think maybe I wont keep trying to find those noodles.. I'll just stick with whole wheat pastas.

Nicci, yay! dropped the weight! Bath sounds so nice and relaxing.. I have to agree, it is kind of nice having the kids back at school.

ladyelizabeth, haha, I see now.. the tombstone thing had me a little puzzled.

newlook, your BF needs a good kick in the behind! How could he not be impressed with your improving at the gym? You should still be proud, you are doing great-- he is just being a big boob. Great job on the swim too!

momof2, aww, I feel so sad for you about feeling like you had to stay in your house, and missing your Holidays last year.. I'm glad you feel better about yourself now!  I hate early mornings too.. it seems like the older I get, the harder it is to get up in the morning.lol.. I dont know how I ever managed years ago now when the twins were babies, and I had to be to work at 6 am.. I dont think I could do it again.

Still not feeling the best today, but took some cold medicine and managed to start catching up on laundry and get most the housework done.. I may try to go to the Y this evening when all the kids are home from school.. Oh, also I weighed at 159.8 this morning.. must have been water retention again... 3 lbs down from yesterday!

hi guys.. Weighed in at 162.8 this morning.. still up :( .. I woke up yesterday morning with  a sore throat, fever, headache, etc.. blah.. Still feeling pretty rotten. YMCA open today, and I was too damn sick to go! grr.. been looking forward to it all this time, and had to come down sick! I'm hoping I will feel well enough tomorrow or at least in the next day or two so I can go. I just ended up laying around today and drinking water and tea.. ate some, but only came to about 900-some cals..

momof2, Congrats on 3 lbs! yay! sorry to hear your leg is hurting so much again.. but great job on your walk! oh, my biggest achievment while losing weight so far.. probably fitting into clothes that havent fit me in years, having more energy for my kids, and a little boost in confidence and self-esteem.

nicci, I have a hard time cutting the carbs too.. Rice and potatoes I can live without, but I love my bread and pasta, and cereal. I have cut significantly from what I used to eat though.

ohtobe, congrats on getting under 180! you're doing great!

ladyelizabeth, what kind of diet are you planning on starting? Great job on the Heart Walk! Crafting tombstones? like grave markers? hmm.

newlook, awesome job on the treadmill! keep it up!

Leo, at least you havent put much back on.. You'll start dropping again soon.

k9, thanks..needed that swift kick in the arse :)  Really, those tofu noodles are that bad? I havent seen them in my grocery store, so havent bought any yet.. but maybe I'll just stick with my whole-wheat pastas if they are really that nasty-- i've heard you have to rinse them well, and they have a 'fishy' smell to them---which I am a little leery about.. I dont really care for fish..especially 'fishy' fish.  How disappointing for you.. go through all the trouble of fixing up that dish and cant even eat it. Thats too bad.

Hi all!

I was so bad yesterday! I ate awful and waay too much. I did have a decent breakfast, but then I had to run some errands, and then do some housework and mow the lawn, so afterwards, I had a couple slices of pizza left over from the kids the night before, and then I had to go to my brother's to bring his truck back because my hubby borrowed it earlier to finish up at his dad's house (he actually went!).  My brother is doing OK, but I could tell he was having some pain.. I really hope it heals fast with no problems. I brought my 2 older kids with and after we left my brothers house, they wanted to go have some dinner ( we were planning to meet my hubby with the other kids later for my hubby's hockey game).. We went to Chipotle.. I love the chicken tacos, and their chips.. so yummy, but way too many calories and fat! And after dinner, Cold Stone is right next door, so we went and had ice cream too! ugh.. I had such a belly ache after eating all that, but it did taste so good. Then we went to hubby's hockey game and met some of his cousins there.. And afterwards we went for Pizza with them and a couple friends.. blah! I tried to enter best I could what I ate yesterday, and it came up over 3000 cals! ugh! I probably overestimated on a couple of things, but still.. way to much junk! I felt so awful this morning.. belly ache and diarrhea.. probably my body cant handle all that junk anymore. And the scale was up like 4 lbs! I gotta be extra good now and get moving again. I still havent really been doing much for exercise. The Y opens on Monday, so maybe I can get a good routine going there. .

momof2, awesome job with the walking! wow, 2.5 hours! I wonder how many miles you went? There is a website, www.mapmyrun.com, and you can trace your actual route on a map and it tells you the distance. I liked that when I was starting the running. I hope I can start that up again soon. My hip still twinges every now and then, but I think my legs are better now.  And girl, go get yourself some new clothes! you deserve it! Bring your big clothes to Goodwill, or have a garage sale (You dont need them anymore!! and wont need them again- right?).. You would have a great time going shopping-- just think, you can buy REGULAR sizes, and wont have to go to the Plus size section!

k9, that is awesome on the treadmill! Your stamina has improved alot! Are you about on week 6 with c25k now? I wish i was still doing it.. I think I will have to start all over from the beginning again.. but I want to be able to run.. maybe I will try on the treadmill next week at the Y.. probably a little easier on the joints running on a treadmill vs running on the pavement.

nicci, oh, you and I are in the same boat.. too much eatin..( and drinkin for you).. Sounds like a good time though!  I love chinese! I probably would be feeling alot better if I hadnt eaten so much junk yesterday.. my belly isnt happy about it. I have been downing the tea and water all morning and running to the bathroom every 15-20 minutes.. so hopefully will flush out the damage. Sounds like fun going to the pool.. I'll probably be doing a lot of that next week at the Y.. The kids can play for awhile while I workout, and then we'll all hit the pool afterwards.

Have a great weekend everyone!

CAUTION: LONG POST GRIPING ABOUT BAD DAY

o my what a day!! I really hope tomorrow goes better. I had to meet my brother at my inlaws house to load these big heavy steel enclosures onto his truck for him to bring out to our folks, and to have him pick up a trailer for hay for my cousin.. Anyway, so the enclosures are in a pole barn, and they are really bulky and big and we have to carry them out a small door to his truck. We got the first one in the back of his truck, and then started on the second one. I had a hard time gripping the bottom, so he thought we could try sliding it to the door and then lift it up there. So we are almost to the door, and I am pushing it in the back, and he is pulling it at the front, and all of a sudden he falls backward on his butt in the doorway. I ran around to him to see if he was alright, and he gets up, but his hand is just mangled with blood.. ugh.. here the fingernails on his first 2 fingers are hanging like they could just peel right off like a sticker and blood is gushing everywhere.. the house is locked up because my inlaws are at work, so I drove him to the hospital. He had to have his nails taken off, and then stitched back on, had a small fracture in his middle finger, and needed a tetnas shot and antibiotics, and I feel so bad.. He is self employed and doesnt have health insurance, so I told my hubby we will pay for it for him.  Then we drove back to the house after he got out of the ER, and he went home. I stayed a little longer to clean up the garbage in the barn, and then I couldnt get the stupid dog back into the barn.. he is a newfoundland, and probably over 100 lbs, and he would not budge to go back to his kennel. After I finally got a hold of my sisterinlaw, she said she was on her way home anyway so I could just leave the dog out. So I drive home, and am almost there, and my oldest son calls and says that one of my younger boys didnt come home off the bus. When I got home, he had told my neighbor, and she was on the phone with the bus company, so I called the school, and between everybody we found he was on the wrong bus. The lady at the bus company said the driver would drop him off after he finished the route. So about 20 minutes later, Jacob comes off the bus, gushing in tears (he is only 6). Poor baby. And then my hubby calls and wants me to go back to my inlaws with his friend from work to pick up the lawn tractor-- while he goes to play cards with some other guys! what a boob. This is about a 50 minute drive one way. But I went, and just got home a little while ago, and am really ready to call it a night. This house I am talking about is my fatherinlaws house, and he passed away last winter. My sisterinlaw and her husband are staying there, and now they have sold the house and close on it in about 2 weeks now. So we are clearing out the rest of dad's stuff, and my hubby seems to be avoiding going there to help out at all costs, and I end up keep having to go there instead.   So now we have to figure out another plan for picking up the rest of the stuff.. and I am sure I will end up having to arrange for most of it again. Sorry about the ranting.. just frustrated  with the whole deal, and feel so bad for my poor brother and his hand :(

hope you all had a better day..

Brownsug, welcome back! I'm sure with all that exercise, your weight will be dropping again soon.

Leo, hope you feel better soon..ugh.. pms and constipation.. sounds miserable.

Nicci, great job at the gym again! ouch with the sodium though... drink tons of water and tea to flush it out..thats what seems to help me when I overdo the sodium.

momof2, lol about your hubby finishing off the icecream.. I kind of 'like' it too when my hubby and the kids rid the house of the snacks I shouldnt have.

k9, omg, that is the same trail mix I have.. the 'indulgent' from Sams.. it is so good.. so hard not to overeat it too.. 3 tbsp a serving-- are they kidding? I'll have to try and not buy that again for awhile.. I could probably eat the whole bag if I dont watch it.., oh, and I just got that hungry girl book at the library last week.. there are some good recipes in there! I think I am going to go buy the book now-- after checking it out, I dont want to bring it back!  I want to try to make the onion rings. I made the fudge last week and it was pretty good. The kids liked it too, but I didnt tell them about the pumpkin. I am thinking about getting some of that tofu shirataki to try out too..

Well, good night guys.. sorry if this post takes up the whole page!

Hi everyone!

Hope all is well. I am feeling better now. Tuesday I felt pretty awful still, but yesterday and so far today I am feeling pretty good. So maybe it was some kind of reflux thing? I dont know about panic attack.. I felt the symptoms pretty constant, and nothing really new has happened for me to deal with.. although I suppose the stress can really wear over time. I really need to start getting back to some exercise though.. I think I am losing what little muscle I was starting to put on :(  I will try to take it easy and slowly work back into a routine. This morning I was back at 160.5, I am hoping it is water weight.. I didnt eat so good yesterday-- too much trail mix, subway for dinner, probably too much sodium and fat, not enough veggies. My YMCA finally opens on Monday! I am excited for that. They are open for tours this week, so I took the kids there yesterday after school and it was really nice. It is less than a mile from my house too, so it will be so convenient. The kids are pretty excited about it too. My hubby says he wants to go too, which I really hope he does.

K9, wow! 136, and a size 4!! thats incredible! I'd go shopping too ;)  I think I was about 19 or 20  the last time I saw 136 on a scale.. and I was about a size 6 or 8 then-- I didnt have a whole lot of muscle, and I am only 5'4"-- but that is so great for you! I am so proud-- and jealous ;) - of you! You'll still stick around after you reach your goals, right? I think you are such an inspiration to all of us, and help us all stay motivated and on track.

nicci, congrats on your new low and great job with the gym!

momof2, dont beat yourself up, you are doing fine! 300 deficit is still a deficit, right? I have trouble keeping my hands off the snacks sometimes too, and when I do, I would be glad for a 300 deficit, because usually, when I eat what i shouldnt, i end up with no deficit, and an overage instead!

melody, welcome back! Great job getting started again!

hi everyone! hope you all had a good weekend!

momof2, I know exactly how you feel with your boy.. mine (my oldest) can be the same way sometimes! Usually when he settles down though, he will apologize.. he really is a good boy, just has to learn to keep his temper in check, and remember how to talk to his momma! I'm kind of not looking so forward to a few years from now as mine all creep into their teenage years! My oldest is 13, but yikes when they all get around there!  Congrats on your HRM! Sounds really neat.. I would like to get one too eventually.

Sharky, you are doing great girl! Thats wonderful you are realizing that you need health over any # on the scale.. and thats really good for you to learn that so young! You are still a growing girl, so you may not need to lose as much as you think!

ladyelizabeth, congrats on the 3 lbs! thats fabulous!

niccimax, so sorry you had to get a stupid comment like that! that sucks..some people can be so ignorant!! Hope you are feeling better..

k9, Congrats on your HRM! Thats great! let me know how you like it... I am considering one sometime soon ..

Yesterday I ended up in the ER.. I was still having the shortness of breath, and the 'pressure feeling' on my chest, and then it started feeling somewhat warm too, and I was having pains come and go from my left jawline. I also felt pretty dizzy. I also was feeling very panicky because I know these are all signs of a heart problem. Anyways, at the ER they didnt really find anything wrong with my heart or lungs.. my BP was a little elevated, but they think its because I was feeling so upset. The doc in the ER seems to think it may be 'esophageal reflux'.. which was strange for me, because i am not sure that explains all the symptoms, and I have never really had problems with heartburn or acid.. So I dont know.. I will try taking the antacid they prescribed, and then go back to my doctor next week maybe.. I am feeling a little better today, but still have the feeling of pressure, and still some short of breath..  I just wish I could know for sure what the problem is!!

In other news, I weighed 158.6 this morning!! yay, finally under 160!

Hi, checking in for the Monday Weigh-in..

This morning I was 158.6.. a new low for me, and now under 160! yay! I am going to slowly work back into exercise.. after hurting my leg and hip with C25K, was laying off for awhile.. and then started having other problems.. I went to the ER yesterday, because I have been having sensations like i am not getting enough air when I breathe, and I was feeling pressure in my chest.. and then I was having occasional pain across my jawline..so I felt really panicky, knowing that those are indicators of a heart problem and my hubby took me in. They didnt find anything wrong at all with my heart or lungs, and think I may have 'esophageal reflux', which I thought really strange, because I rarely get heartburn, or have acid problems.. Anyway, i will try taking the antacid medication and see how it goes, and then check back with the doc later..  Gave me quite a scare anyway.  So I will go back easy with getting into an exercise routine again, and just one more week til my new YMCA opens! I hope I can get a good plan set up with a trainer.

Hi ladies!

Got back from the hospital awhile ago, and they didnt find anything wrong on the ultrasound or catscan.. good news, but I still just dont feel right-  I still feel 'short of breath' I guess you would call it.. and not pain, but like a pressure on my chest area.. almost like one of my kids is laying on me, or like I am wearing a really uncomfortable bra.. I dont really know how else to explain it.. I am going back on Monday if I dont improve. Thanks for your concern guys.

momof2, that sounds awful! I hate feeling sick like that! Glad you're starting to feel better though.

k9, Sounds like quite a workout.. better give yourself a day or two to recover. Really, though, you are finding it harder to up your calories? I find if I let myself, I could easily do 2000-2500 a day no problem! yikes! but that is probably with a lot of junky food that I miss sometimes (ei, chocolate, ice cream, desserts, pizza, etc) .. Maybe it would be harder to up calories and still be a really 'good girl' with eating.  No fun at the dentist, ugh.. I dont mind the cleanings so much, but I absolutely hate having fillings done! I cant stand the sound of the drill! I still need to get my wisdom teeth out too.. I have been putting that off for a few years or better now.. I always get scolded about it at the dentist too. Have you had yours out? Does it hurt alot?

Hi everyone!

Hope all is doing well with you all..

hey Leo! ( whips out superglue, duct tape, ropes, chains with locks.. that oughta hold you on!)  just kidding! Seriously though, welcome back- sounds like a good plan starting up again.. I know I have fallen off many times and had to 'start over' again.

k9, sorry to hear about your 'funk'.. hope you are feeling happier soon... Just remember all you have accomplished so far! You are doing great, and it is harder to lose those last few lbs once you get closer to your ideal weight.

Niccimax, ugh, I hate hangovers! I rarely drink, but when I do, I usually end up drinking too much too fast and get sick and hungover.. yuk! hope you feel better soon.. and have a wonderful reunion with your family tomorrow!

newlook, I hear that is pretty common, to start seeing physical changes and not much change on the scale.. have you taken your measurements? I bet you have a change there.. maybe your clothes are fitting a little looser? Your muscles are probably getting stronger, and I'm sure soon you will see a drop in the scale.

I went to see a doctor yesterday, and go in today for some more tests.. I developed some other symptoms over this week and thought I better get in right away. I started having sensations like I wasnt getting enough air when I breathe- not so much that I felt faint or anything, but enough that caused me notice and made me feel anxious- and now was having pain in my right calf.. At the clinic, my blood pressure was fine, heartrate good, oxygen saturation at 99%..but the doctor wants to rule out a blood clot, even though I am not considered a 'likely candidate' for that-- no family history, no smoking, not on BC or other hormones... I dont know, but I really feel like something is very wrong.. and I am scared. So this afternoon I go for an ultrasound on my leg and a catscan.. I'll check back later and let you know how it goes. ... On a lighter note, I saw a new low on the scale this morning.. 160.8!  which is kind of surprising because ttom started wednesday, so really didnt expect to see the scale move at all.

Well, have a great day everyone.. Happy Friday!

Hey Lynn! Can I join your group too? I've been missing chatting with you in the 30's group that fizzled out.. I really need to get back into some motivation too. I am seeing a doctor this afternoon about my leg.. I hurt my left hip and right leg trying to do C25k, and hasnt really gotten better, so I had to stop running and now getting it checked out. Sorry to hear about your hammie injury.. that really sucks! Sounds like you are doing much better now though..good for you!

Well here i am, if you still got room-

Age: 34

Hi all!

momof2, so sorry about your Pap passing away! Sounds like he passed very peacefully though.. I only have one gramma left, and I sure do miss my other grandparents!

Welcome Melody_anne! Thats great you can wait to check your weight only once a month.. I usually have to step on several times a day!

ladyelizabeth, thanks for your kind words.. I really do need to get back into some exercise though.. I feel like my body is becoming like a bowl of jello!

k9, congrats on the new shoes! hope they work out well for you! Gosh, hope the hurricanes stay clear of you.. sounds like there is quite enough of a mess already!

I have been downing a ton of tea and water trying to get rid of this extra water weight, and I think it is starting to work! This morning I weighed at 162.2 ! That is a new low for me.. Now if I can just get back into some exercise, maybe I can clear 160 soon! I walked to the library and back yesterday (probably about a mile total) and could feel it in the hip and leg again by the time I was nearing home.. so I know I'm not ready to resume running yet, and better get to the doc this coming week.

Hope you all have a great Labor Day weekend!
