Weight Loss Blew the day! Aug 17 2008

Oh man, today was blow out day lol

I ate like 800 calories worth of Edy's Cookies and Cream Ice cream bringing my total to 2000 calories for the day.... I usually eat 1400. However, this has been a very hard weekend for me and I've been pretty down so I'm definitely not going to beat myself over it. As someone already mentioned, tomorrow is a new day! Wish you all the best of luck and lots of happiness Laughing

Take a look at roofers and at guys that use an ax to cut wood.  They have the best abs.

What do they do?  They swing an ax or shovel or use a pitch fork all day.  Go buy a 5lb sledge hammer and swing it in the back yard for 15 minutes a day.  See what happens in a month.

My SIL is a roofer and has a smaller waist than my DD.

Thank you Candy, you have inspired me to become a roofer but since I'm afraid of heights, I will be an ax girl Tongue out

I agree with both previous posts. As longs as you stay consistant, it's all that matters. For my sanity ( the little bit that I have left anyways) I just count it from the time I wake up lol

It might be. I was really heavy before I started dieting. My highest was like 205 and I'm only 5'1. I'm now 129 and while a lot of people think that I look good the way I am now... I still have a few parts that I hate, specially my stomach. It sucks that my stomach is not strinking as fast as the rest of my body lol. I do have loose skin on my stomach so I need to work on that. In your case it might also be loose skin, but don't worry about it... we still look great!!! Tongue outCongrats on your weight loss and best of luck to you on the rest of your journey!

Weight Loss REALLY need some help and advice please Aug 10 2008

Honestly, I think that if you are happy at the weight that you're at then you should just maintain. I would really do my best to just stay at the weight that you are by eating a bit healthier and snacking less. If you do want to lose more weight make sure that you are going to stick with it. You don't want to be losing weight just to gain it right back because it's really not healthy. I don't know if you do but I would add a little bit of exercise to your routine, specially on those days that you snack a lot. Something important that I have learned is that when you want to lose weight, you have to make lifetime changes. Not just changes for a few weeks until you lose weight and then go back to your old habits. When you decide to lose weight you don't have to give up the foods that you love but learn how to eat them. For example, if you us ally order a meal with  extra large fries try to cut down to a small size or even replace them with a nice healthy salad.

Don't compare yourself to your friends because we are all different. Also don't let your friends make you feel bad. I've always been the chubby one among the group of my friends. However, when I decided to lose weight, I didn't do it for them but I did it for me. I decided to make the changes in order to feel better about myself and not to be the smallest among my friends. And remember the important thing is that you feel happy the way you are. Laughing

Take good care and best of luck to you!!!Cool

They changed the recipe about two years ago.   Some sites might not have been updated to reflect this.

I would go with the current calories recorded by the chain.

lol I didn't know they had changed the recipe... All I know is that I kept eating them and loving them lol

And yes Kan, Wendy's chili is indeed Great!!! and sooo filling too!

I would just wait until you get better. I know that when I get sick, I don't feel like doing anything! Waiting a bit will allow your body to rest and repair itself faster. Plus it gives you a small break, which we all need once in a while. I hope you feel better soon Laughing

curb: to check or control

You can curb hunger but cannot "curve" it.

I think that weight loss has a weird effect on our periods whether you take bc or not Undecided . I used to have a very accurate period before I started dieting and losing weight. However, I've noticed a couple of changes after I started dieting. For example, I had my period like 3 times durin July... it was light but I did get it THREE times lol

Weight Loss A small light at the end of the tunnel!!! Aug 08 2008
05:07 (UTC)

Thanks toenacious for the positive feedback,  I sure need that right now!!! When I first started bac in Dec it was pretty hard knowing that I had to lose about 65 lbs in order to reach my goal of 120. However, I kept telling myself that I was capable of losing the weight if I gave it 110%. Something that really worked for me was thinking about all the good things I was going to gain (like being healthier and feeling better) and not about the things I had to give up ( like eating all the unhealthy things I always ate!). Whenever I thought I couldn't do it I would talk myself out if it!!! If so many people can lose weight and keep it off, why can't I??? I have had a few bumps here and there but I was able to stay on track and I'm glad that I did.

But the thing that motivated me the most was that losing weight has added some meaning to my life. Having to sit down and plan what I'm going to eat the next day or having to take some time in order to plan out my grocery list has given me something to look forward to. Whenever I feel down, I take out a piece of paper and make a  list of all the food items I need to buy for the week. It might be silly but it has really helped me out a lot!

p.s. If I can do it, so can you!!! Best of luck to you in your journey and thanks again for the reply!

I don't think there is a way to keep track of inches or BF% on this site. However, something that I might recommend is buying a notebook specially for this. You can write all your measurements down. This will not only hel you keep track of your inches and BF% but also keep you motivated. Hope that helps and Congrats on your lost inches Laughing

Jump Rope! It's especially fun if you have some people (or kids, nephews, neices, little cousins) to do it with... you can channel your inner child and bust out some double dutch moves! So good for the coordination too.

Since I'm broke I use an "invisible" jump rope lol It's great exercise and doesn't bore me as much. I have ADD when it comes to exercising lol. However, my 12 yrs old cousin caught me the other day exercising with my "invisible" rope... I think she thinks I'm crazy now Undecided

Weight Loss Too much sugar= bad? Aug 07 2008

Original Post by misspriss316:

So fruits with sugars aren't as bad as refined sugars? I don't succumb to hunger pangs when I'm not really hungry so that isn't a problem for me.

Fruit sugars are a lot better than refined sugars because they are natural. Sugars from fruits are better processed by the body than the refined sugars. However, too much of a good thing can be bad!

Weight Loss What motivates you the most to loose weight? Aug 07 2008
23:39 (UTC)

My motivation was to see if losing the weight would make me a happier person. However, I've realize that it really hasn't. Don't get me wrong, I'm proud of my weight loss but it's not what I thought it would feel like... Maybe it's that it's been a rough week for me and I'm not in my happiest mood. I'm definitely working on improving myself on the inside in order to truly like my whole self!

On a positive note, I want to say Congrats to everyone for not only having the motivation to lose weight but to actually work hard for it! Laughing

I don't count carbs. I eat whatever I want so long as I stay within my caloric limit. I am starting to look closer at my protein intake though; it's currently way too low considering I'm trying to build muscle.

I'm the same way!!! As longs as it fits into my calorie plan I eat pretty much anything... well almost lol

I'm a carb girl, I can't give up carbs... If I don't eat carbs in most of my meals... I go into withdrawal lol
